I got 4 models this morning, dropped off by my neighbour. They must've come while I was away for the last 11 days (went in vacation to Costa Rica which was fantastic BTW). Anyway, here they are. They are all very nice.
BMW M3 E30 Sport Evolution "Cecotto Edition"
To celebrate the competition victories of factory driver, Johnny Cecotto, BMW launched a special version of the E30 M3 in 1989 that was named in his honor. This model introduced the 215-bhp version of the 2.3-liter S14 catalytic engine with 170lb/ft of torque. All M3 Cecottos were Misano Red, Macao Blue or Nogaro Silver metallic and carried the Evolution II front and rear spoilers. They were further distinguished by their 7.5x16-inch BBS wheels with special black paint.
On the inside, the Cecotto version had the half leather Motorsport seats, an on-board computer, an illuminated gear knob, special dorrsill plates with a color "M3" insignia and a serial numbered plaque on the center console that displayed Johnny Cecotto's signature. A total of 480 M3 Cecottos were built for European markets except the UK.
This one is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Many little intricate details. Very nice BMW badge, the hood lifts up suicide style with these really realistic hinge mechanism which you can see in the engine picture. It actually has like a stopper, you open it up, then moves to the front via the front mechanism then if you let it back down, it will stay in place as it has a stopper. Then to put the hood back down, lift up a bit, put it down and it will come down and then slide back in. The seatbelts are really nice and realistic look to them as do the seats. There is also a plaque on center dashboard with Johnny Cecotto's signature and his name and a serial number I think, just as the car description says.
Aston Martin DBR9 #59 - Le Mans 24hr 2005
David Brabham/Stephane Sarrazin/Dan Turner
This car finished 9th overall at Le Mans 2005, 3rd in GT1, behind the 2 Corvette's. I have the C6R that was 1st in GT1 as well. Now all that is missing is the Audi R8 winner driven by JJ Lehto and Tom Kristensen. Spark has a model of this I believe. It would cost me about $130cad to get that though and I don't think it's as good quality as the Aston (and it is sealed as well unfortunately). I wish they would have made this Aston with opening doors because the interior looks like it has nice detail. Overall iI really like it though and it will display nice next to my C6R. I was expecting it to come with a certificate authenticity paper thingy though like my C6R did and say this is model # out of how many. I remember somewhere saying there's only 3000 of these, but I think there's more, maybe 6000 just like the C6R models. Oh a cool little thing, it's sponsored by iXO Models on the rear side spoiler.
