Bought 5 1:18 AutoArts at Goodwood last weekend:

Mazda RX8 LM Edition (787B livery) (£40)
2003 Honda NSX JGTC Test Car (£40)
2002 Bentley Speed 8 (£28)
1998 No. 29 Toyota GT-ONE (£30)
1998 Toyota Corolla WRC (£25)

Can anyone guide me to on average, how much does the average 1:18 cost?

My 1:18ths which I got from Biante were all around the $99-120AU range.

EDIT: Speaking of Biante, they're finally getting in the MP4-21 next week. :D

You mean their own models? I have noticed they tend to be very expensive. They seem to be having a sale on their website though, lot's of Falcons and Commodores all for $55 each.

yep the only problem is all the ones i want/own have been well over the 250aud mark

Depends on the model, but for 1:18 I'd guess about $90AUD. The cheapest start from about $24 (the cheapest new model I own was £7, or $16.70); the most expensive (and hyper-detailed) models go for $350 and beyond.

OK, hyper detailed if you aren't looking for models and brands from model makers no-one's ever heard of.

:D

By the way, Andrew, I saw this at the weekend and thought of you:

For average price, depends where you live.

Over here in Canada, it usually goes like this:

$15 to $25 for budget models (Hot Wheels, Maisto), these can usually be found at Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, etc. (or online)

$55 to $70-$80 for premium models (Kyosho, Minichamps, AUTOart, Hot Wheels Elite), usually I buy these online only

$200 plus for a brand new Exoto or CMC or BBR

If you're in states, you can probably find even better prices. If you're from Europe or somewhere else, it's most likely more expensive, probably from 10% to 40% more since usually these things are cheapest in north america. The only places I can think of you can find better prices are Hong Kong and Singapore.

His location says Melbourne, Australia.

several people have showed me that and it is such a fake its so obvious  still pretty nice though :)

Is it? That's a pity.

The GS Conv. is still on its way but i got the other 2 models yesterday.
The guy who i bought the GS from got the postage cheaper than he'd expected and refunded me the difference! :D

Well back in about 2000, i collected 1:57,1:59 and in that range stuff. They were ONLY Hot wheel and Matchbox. I got them, on average, $2 AUD. SO i just cant believe how much the prices have gone up lol. Im not looking for hyper detalied stuff, i just want a small collection, so im only gonna buy maybe 10 1:18's and about 20 1:43 at max. Unless i have enough money to buy more :dopey:

yep no number on the roof and a few other stickers missing, plus its based on the 1978 version rather then the famous 1979 one :)

It is supposed to be the '78 version. Looks pretty similair to me, from the photos I've found on Google.

These I bought on the Friday, the other 2 I got Sunday - haven't taken any pictures of them yet.

hood pins are wrong, exhuasts at the wrong side(for the '78 version),05 missing from the roof, blue triangle on the bonnet wasnt on the real car nether was the 05 on the wing :)
but do you have any more pics of it?

Yep.

The 05 on the wing is a Goodwood Festival sticker - the blue March is a regular and has 3 on each rear wing endplate :)

I'm not trying to prove you wrong, I'm just interested to see how much of it has changed if it is the original car.

were they giving away any of the 05 stickers? and did they by any chance say who owned it?

From the programme:

Sorry about the dodgy scanning :)

A few more pictures I found in the masses.

There were no stickers given out. The grey ones are applied by the Goodwood organisers to individual cars as a means of identification. Why the Holden has sticker 05 but programme number 092 I've no idea - the numbers ought to match.

now that is a strange one,the bowdens do own the 1979 bathurst winning A9X but peter champion owns the 1978 bathurst winning A9X iirc(searching on google shows he owns the '78 a9x,2002 commodore,'84 bathurst winner and the A30),might need to ask a friend whos know alot about brocks cars on this.

thanks :)
