I'll put up some pictures of the Aston Martin #59 Le Mans and Bentley Speed 8 when I get home on Thursday or Friday. They are fine models. I am also patiently waiting for the Gran Turismo Ford GT to come in stock from the main website I buy from, been on my wishlist for a long time. I really like the livery a lot. About the other models, I don't collect Jaguars or Audis, so can't comment on those. Maisto's are probably too expensive for what they're really worth in UK, and the PMA Jag XK is probably better value than the AA.Remember I still want to know which you guys think is the best for me to buy. The LM Racer is a possibility but please if you have pictures of any of these please post them! Any of you guy's pictures are better than the manufactures....
That's a lotta mula. I've started about august '05, and so far have drained away $4000, maybe $4500. How many models you up to now. I'm nearing 100, I think I've got around 95-96, I'll have to count again when I get home.only february last year and ive already drained away almost £4,500-£5000

I would rather spend 10K on a REAL car than scale models (Not sayin scale models are bad though)

Thanks for that, it will be very helpful in my search for a new model. Also I think I am cancelling out both of the road cars as I really do want a racing car. You see every month I get something called "pocket money" that pocket money is £15 doesn't sound a lot but after awhile of me forgetting about my account it builds up so next time I look I have around £100 which will do quite nicely. Also, ask for them for birthday's or christmas, works every time....How do you guys find this much money to buy scale models anyway?![]()
well in a you could argue model collecting is an investment, fair enough ive spent £4,500 on models over the last year and abit in which i would rather spend in creating a turboed VR6 felicia estate project but after ive finished that i would be lucky to get what £3k for it? where as my model collection i like to think has went up in value in which if i sold everything i could maybe make another £1,500 maybe £2000.
you can see it pretty clearly with some models for example adams mclaren f1,he bought that for £10 and i wouldnt be surprised when he sold it he easily made at least £70 out of it,same with autoart 22b's,they cut the price on those to £20-30 about 5 years ago cause they couldnt sell them now you would be lucky to get one for under £100,same also with my 1979 torana a9x,i bought that for £120,no less than 2 weeks later these where selling on ebay for 2000aud.
Intrestingly enough imo and i talked about this with a couple of mates, when you collect some of the more expensive models,in a sense its like supercar ownership(bare with me here) one of them owns a tuned murcielago, the other a modified Gallardo and they say in a way when you buy those kinda cars, you dont buy it for you,you buy it for everyone.if you go to the did you see anything cool today thread people get alot of excitment seeing these cars on the road as the owners do driving them, with models (from my experience with the ones i collect)you would be lucky to see many of them in this country,or indeed on some forums, for example my 1/12 gallardo im on 3 diecast forums and i havent seen one other person with one, even when i went to pick it up,because of the cost it was a special order so even the shop owner hadnt seen one before and was as amazed as i was when we first seen it at how stunning it was.
ive also done 2 model shows and some of the feedback on what other people had on my collection have been fantastic and really do make it worth while, some models of cars people would never even know about to people that missed out on a chance of owning one due to a high demand for it,and comments from people like yourself who see other peoples collections as something to aim towards then there is other peoples collections that i have seen in which there are cars that i would never be able to afford or have the chance of owning but i still try and aim for it.![]()
hmmm, that site whre i found the Hemi Under Glass has a couple of interesting items...
Under Kyosho for example:
A blue Jota SVR (one of the harder to find colours)
Not your average Stratos
The ever popular NSX
And none of those appear to be out of stock either, i do wonder whther the site is still frequently updated or just a ghost-site :\

Ah yes, understandable. Expensive to keep up an aussie supercar collection, especially overseas.i think im only about the 100 mark as well, maybe just over.but then again the ones i have(namely the brock ones) are hard to get a hold off then cost a fair amount to ship them over.it all adds up
I've emailed them in regard to a couple models. They also have the Diablo SV on their site, maybe it's in stock?hmmm, that site whre i found the Hemi Under Glass has a couple of interesting items...

It is definitely the real 1978 car. It was crashed at Bathurst in 1979 with engineering legend Ron Harrop driving when it lost it's brakes. It was still part of the Holden Dealer Team. That was Chris Bowden who took it to Goodwood.btw roo apparently the A9X is the orginal,it is the 1978 but the real one was crashed back in 1979 when it went to another team and some of the difference happened when it was being restored.

Occasionally. I don't get much time to browse and Ten Tenths has so many subscribers that by the time I read something that I have an opinion on or an answer to, the answer has already been given or the discussion has moved on. Also, it's a bit of a minefield in the AusNz touring car section. If you say something someone doesn't agree with they jump on you pretty hard. So many "discussions" seem to end up as Holden V Ford arguements. The other problem is the level of grammar is so poor. Some comments are genuinely difficult to read because of the poor spelling and lack of punctuation but it is also the only other forum I read regularly.Do you post at Ten-Tenths Schrodes? - it's the only other forum that i regularly follow.
