I haven't put together any models in a few years, but I may pick it up again soon. Found a 1st generation RX-7 wide body racer the other day for $25 at a local hobby shop that I would love to put together.

Matte black GTR & Stratos  *whimpers* Are they 1:18?

There seems to be a few models there we don't get here in Blighty. Is that, in the background of the bike trio picture, a model of Senna's F3 car in 1:18? I didn't even know they made that one.

The Stratos is pretty small, IIRC it was 1:43. The Senna car would be the same 1:43 as it was also pretty small. The larger cars on sale seem to be made be either Tamiya or Autoart (the latter of which there are hundreds and hundreds).

I demand to know who makes that Mazda Furai model and what scale it is.

It was pretty teeny-weeny. I can find out the company next time I go down there, which I might do soon because I just spied a die-cast Toyota Chaser in one of my pics that I didn't notice when I was in the shop.

Smaller than 1/43 scale? Heck, I'd even rock it if it were 1/64....

I'm not sure about the exact scale (I'm thinking 1/43), but you know what it's a beautiful sunny day here and if I get my work done earlier I'll go take a look.

This one,up the top,on the right and maybe the one next to it.

I'm still not sure what you mean I think I may be missing something as I haven't played GT for years. Do you mean the three 7-Series next to each other? This is the same shop as the Furai (middle of picture next to the Calsonic GT-R).

The BMW Gran Turismo,is a car that is not on sale yet.And what you said is probably what I think it is.

Got ya. I have just zoomed in on my original pic. No, I think they are all 7-Series with different face-lifts.

I use to model like my life depended on it. All my gears are back in the UK, trays and trays of tools, about 90% of the Tamiya acrilic paints X and XF, use to order thinners by the 10 liters containers for airbrushing. my last purchase was a set of iwata spray guns that was made for "an unnamed German car maker" (Porsche according to the seller who had a few left over from the order) to go with my compressor coz the small airbrushes just dont cut it for body work spraying.

Old times, I've got about 20 boxes of cars that is sitting somewhere waiting to be built, but no time, since I discovered something even more entertaining with the opposite sex and pubs

Also DRIFT4EVA, unfortunately I didn't see any Caldinas of your gen in kits, but there are plenty more shops and so much stuff that I may have overlooked it.
That's all good mate. If you see something though pleeeeeease let me know lol

Hey Rue,

Where in HK is that shop you have pictures of on the previous page? and how much were the 1/43 models?

I'm making a rather large post here. If anyone feels it's too big please let me know and I'll remove them/some. Anyway a bit of background. Hong Kong really is a scale model collectors paradise. There are tonnes of tiny shops stacked to the roof with every conceivable model, mainly cars, Gundams and military models. Some of the car kits they have are awesome. I often find myself in the shops looking at Koenig Testarossas and the like and wishing I had more patience and skills when it comes to modelmaking. Anyhow, I thought you guys may appreciate the pics.

The various colour labels pertain to special offers that are on, for example all green labels are one price or you can buy two and get the third at a discount etc. The pictures aren't very good quality as you're not allowed to take photos in the shops. I thought the egg-style super-deformed planes were awesome, I may have to buy a couple.

*GTP IS NOT BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD SO MANY PICTURES*

Eeh... can I move there? Tell the owner store I'll look for it at night, and that I'll wash my hands. Heck, tell him I wont touch anything and that I'll go to the bathroom somewhere else.

impressive...

Not one, but many shops in Mong Kok. 1/43 models vary, around roughly the 20-30+ quid mark for the decent ones, but you pay for quality.

Total I spent a total of $180.00 USD. For them.

I think that sounds cheap there... I went to a hobby shop and they sell a 550i E60 Facelift for MYR499.00 :ouch: :indiff:

But ah well, I might buy them someday :)

EDIT: Anyways, I bought this :D

What company made it?

It's Bburago. Seriously never heard of it but, they have one of the most expensive line up of cars in the shop and, the quality is exceptional!! You guess, the paint on the 6er is off a BMW Brilliant White!! You can see the paint flakes and under the light, it looks like an angel!!
