So after viewing this thread for a while, i thought i would share my model car collection

V8 Supercar shelf

ATCC Shelf

Top Shelf

Newest purchase. David Reynolds/ Dean Canto 2nd place Bathurst 2012. Really good for a resin model

And Something different. Left rear panel from Scott Mclaughlin's V8 Supercar

Racing Champions 1969 Dodge Charger. It was model kit, but its diecast.

Custom touches (other than what came with the kit as custom): added front and rear license plates; that's all I have planned.

Some of the custom parts this Charger has but came with that can't be seen:
  • PS2 in the back seat
  • Video screens on the back of the front seats

Got two models on the way, one of which I had pre-ordered for a while. Been quite a while since I last got a non-R/C model lol...

I am a sucker for any V8SC period but love the Richards, Reynolds and Murphy (I prefer Ford). Nice collection for sure.

Welly 1967 Pontiac Firebird. Found at Rite Aid for $10. Cool fact: I was allowed to look at what the store had yet to put out, which lead me to find this car.

Welly Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Also found at Rite Aid for $10, but no cool facts with this one.

Not that I can afford to buy any right now, but I'm interested in older race cars of any type. Any good sites to look for them at?

I've been happy with CK-Models in the past. I've also heard decent things about Modelissimo and I've had an ok experience with Abitina. Otherwise you'll have to check eBay or Amazon.

With the first three sites, all the prices are quoted in Euros without shipping but with VAT included. If you order and ship to the US, you can tell them to take VAT off, which essentially is 19% off.

Heads up guys!!!

How's HPI's quality?

--

I waiting for Otto's E38 750iL to pop up and then I think I'm going to get one. I've made a list of a few other models I'll like to get soon, but I think that's something that's going to be done over the next few months.

I ended up coming across this site http://www.replicarz.com/ by way of HPI's diecast site. Looks like it has lots of good stuff, and no need to convert money.

Has anyone bought from that site previously? I assume they're credible since they're listed as the USA distributor for HPI's diecast.

I have never ordered from them before. Selection seems to be ok, but their prices look to be on the more expensive side, even with considering conversion from Euros on the German sites.

I have ordered from Replicarz lots of times. They have a lot of stuff and good customer service, though sometimes prices can be a little higher than other shops.
And HPI has excellent quality, as I have a few 1/43's from them. Sadly HPI is shutting down their diecast/resin business to focus on their R/C car business. I do belive their diecast/resin equipment was sold to a Japanese company, so many of the models should still be around even after HPI sells all their stock.

I noticed their prices are higher. Guess I'll stick to Amazon/the 3 German sites named instead, when I can buy some.

I order my cars at Modellissimo.de and CK Modelcars. Always a good and fast service. Already got an email this morning from CK my 156 is being transported! Also ordered an R18 for my dad as Xmas present and got that within 2 days after I got the email it was being sent. Excellent model that R18 btw, it's from Spark. I almost regret I gave it away...

Just bought my 70th 1/18 Scale car, a Shelby Cobra 427 S/C. I also have about 180 1/64th (or close to it) cars, many of which are NASCAR. I've got around 35 1/24th scale cars as well, most of which are NASCAR.

I counted every car of every scale I have about 2 months ago, and today I guestimate that I have about 325 total models :D. I've been collecting them since I was 3 years old.

The most common manufacturer in my models is oddly Chevrolet (I own a 1:1 scale Ford F-150) due to the fact that most of my favorite NASCAR drivers drive Chevys. Porsche is the most common road car.
