I like the sound of that, let's hope that the temperatures don't get hotter because of such a handsome car. :sly:
How's the quality of the model itself? I know that might be an unecessary question, but still...
Typical AA quality lol. Some neat details I noticed are the metal exhaust tips and metal intake trumpets. Also has small metal bits for the throttle pushrod linkages.

Is that the one from fast and furious 5?
I never seen FnF5, so I have no idea lol
I do know AUTOart doesn't do a lot of movie cars, and last time I checked Greenlight has been doing FnF cars in various scales.

Anyway some quick pics, so dont expect the fancy white background lol...

No, no. @a6m5 has already agreed to send all his TLV's my way should he ever decide that he doesn't want them any more. Okay, strictly speaking he hasn't agreed to anything yet.

Yet! :mischievous:

Oi, you're an Australian, Japan is a just a quick hop for you upside down kangaroos. Iberian wolves such as myself don't have the luxury of making a "quick jump", much less buy TLVs on the cheap (stupid shipping taxes). If you have such a deal, I want in, or as criminals often say "get a cut of the profit". :grumpy:

Oh, and wonderful pictures, @Venom800tt, I don't mind the lack of a background, I like a car picture with the good company of 911 Speedsters, Alfa Romeos and whatever that model of Gundam may be (00 Raiser? I can't quite recognize that one... Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, haha).

As for the car, it is indeed a magnificently-detailed model, such beauty is indeed fitting of an AUTOart model. It seems that those models only go bad every once in a blue moon (for example, when a6's Ford GT became an Automatic by accident), because that Skyline is great from all angles. And yes, the use of metal for the engine trumpets and exhaust tips really set the car apart from other models of similar size, no wonder the pricetag is steep, those are wonderful details. 👍

Wouldn't you get one of those for my birthday? Haha.

I figured it'd make a nice gift for my nephew.

I missed this statement, but may I just state that your nephew is sooo spoiled.

My uncle used to buy me scale models too when I was a kid. I had a blast colouring the red Vipers with a black permanent marker. I still have them today.

@Spacegoat & @Niku Driver HC - I'm sorry, but I thought it was common knowledge in the hot wheels thread that I had it arranged to have my TLVs buried with me when I die. Come on guys. :P

My AUTOart Ford GT, this time from Cali.

I'm not gonna lie, I checked for the shifter, not just in the carbon fiber GT, but also in the white one. All good.

And you've come such a long way!👍

Glorious pictures a6. They look fantastic together.

And who is that guy in the background with his arms crossed? He doesn't look very impressed.

I'm going to be invited to the funeral, right?

Thank you!

Had I dropped dead right there, long before you are digging up the TLVs, he'd been stealing both of my Ford GTs. During the entire process from unboxing of the car to display, he was following me around. It is pretty amazing how often I get asked by customers & people who work there if they could buy these cars. Feels purdy nice, actually. :P

Maybe for you. But personally I'd get tired of people asking that, very quickly.

Do you think anyone would notice a short Australian guy standing in the back holding a shovel?

So, what's the general consensus regarding grave desecrating in North America? Just asking out of curiosity, don't you know... You don't want to have any regrets when steal... er, I mean fixing up another man's grave.

Handsome, very handsome. I agree with Andy, that's worth at least 10x  when it comes to "gushing over" rating. And you thought things couldn't get better than one Ford GT Spec LM car, then you see two in the same place. And this time around, both cars are Manual transmission cars, so no inaccuracies there regarding accidental AT versions. A very fine duo of cars, great stuff. 👍

Also, I bet that the "arms crossed" man is either someone who wants to steal your stuff, or an undercover AUTOart representative who wants to oversee the quality of the delivered cars and ensure that the same mistake doesn't happen twice. One of the two...

Last winter, I was ready to pay I think close to $300 for the black one? Then the re-release of these cars by AUTOart, which I'm not sure was fair to the people who already owned these things, but great deal for someone like me. For $310 or so, I was able to have both colors!

310 bucks for both cars!? Hot damm, that's a great deal alright, good job.👍
Is there anything elese where the re-released GTs are different from the original release, or is the pricetag the only difference?

Wow guys! Every time I make my way into this thread, I leave drooling.

I am in the process of shipping my collection over from New Zealand, but before I am able to do anything, I require a display case. Does anyone know of any decent, great value places either online or within the West Midlands here in the UK where I can find something decent? I have roughly 25-30 1:18 models and 3 1:12 plus various parts of Race cars I'd like to fit in. Yep. I know NOT easy.

Also I have been reading up on these Acrylic Display cases. Are they any good? I prefer glass, but if Acrylic is actually semi decent that may be good enough FOR NOW

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks all!

Ikea is pretty good for cabinets you can fit 3 across in this

http://m.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/art/80269122/

I'd also suggest these

https://ck-modelcars.de/en/eur/p/25...arting-grid-print-1-18-triple9/ck99918002-6x/

What models are you shipping over?

I personally prefer the glass retail display cases. If I didn't have those cases at work to store these cars, I wouldn't buy any. :P

I've wondered the same, but I haven't seen or read anything that suggest it. I'm not at all picky, so if there were, I wouldn't care. I draw the line at automatic Ford GTs, but other than that. :D Thank you for the compliments!

It is indeed 00 Raiser :P
I also forgot to mention the KPGC10 has actual rubber floor mats lol

And AA has their share of quality slips, though it isn't too common. Most issues lie in the packaging, namely the window boxes which don't protect a model like the styrofoam clamshell boxes do. The window boxes also have annoying rubber bands and wires that hold the doors and hood/trunk closed. Makes it a PITA to unpackage them.

And I got 3 models en route atm :D

Huh, is that so. Well, the important bit is that you get them on the cheap(er) compared to the original LM Spec cars, so there's that. And I know that you aren't really picky, I was just kidding around about you being a detective and not forgiving the same mistake from happening twice.

Oh, and you're welcome. ;)👍

Yay, I'm a Gundam (specialist)! More like nope, but hey, got that guess right.

Pfft, I'd prefer to have rubber bands to hold the doors together, beats having sticky tape or whatever some brands use. Although I can envision the problem of dragging the bands away from their place and the rubber shrinking in the process, that does sound like a PITA. The window boxes are the most cumbersome-sounding problem, considering the whole lack of protection they offer.

Are you made of money or what, man!? You're an ambitious guy, I can tell that much... Can you tell us which models will they be, or is that meant to be a surprise/secret?

Heh, well two of the models were already paid for (pre-orders), while the other was a random impulse buy because I saw big red letters that said SALE lol.
The pre-orderd pair are from GT Spirit, a Porsche 993 Turbo and a Lotus Exige MK1, while the sale model is an AA Alfa 4C. Should have all 3 next week lol.

An Alfa 4C!? Welp, screw the rest, I want that as the main bringer of pictures, haha.
But seriously, awesome buys, I have yet to find any scale model of the 4C around these parts, not even the smaller Siku one. The Exige and the 993 aren't half bad, I bet, but you got me at "Alfa 4C", that's by far my favorite. 👍

[EDIT, THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE IMAGE, WILL FIX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE :scared:]
This is my collection, missing some 1:18 Bburagos, 99% of Micro Machines and other few models.
Alpine and Lancia Stratos inside the case.
On top: Fighter Jet, an Aircraft Carrier (I do have a huge battleship but I left it ad my grandparent's house) and a small Micro Machines airway with an hangar and few battle tanks (not visible here).
Ferrari collection with 50 models, below those an F1 Collection (40 models) plus some extras (1:64 Minichamps F1, Ferrari 412 T2, MP4/4 and MP4/6 with 1:43 Ayrton Senna, F14-T).
52 Alfa Romeo and the last 3 shelves are full of 1:18
Ford GT in Gulf livery, Ferrari 599XX, Ferrari F2002, Gulf Porsche 917K, Ferrari 512M. (with those some Fiat 500 and other random 1:43 models including a Lancia Delta)
BMW V12 LMR, Peugeot 905, Toyota GT One, Ferrari 333SP (and 787B 1:43).
Mazda 787B Stealth, Ferrari 641/2 and Ferrari 312 T4.
Now, I don't buy cases for 1:18 because every time I get a decent amount of money I buy another model...
Next one...1:18 Porsche 956 by Minichamps, hopefully with the Rothmans colours...

I like this one from Ikea much better.

liatorp-glass-door-cabinet-grey__0242757_PE382033_S4.JPG

I have three of those.

Detolf is very open, so a lot of dust can get in.
And the Liatorp just fits a lot more models.

I wanted to buy lots of Detolfs but I am put off, as you said, by the huge air gaps between the glass panels which makes the whole thing pointless. It's irritating they they don't have an intermediate priced model (slightly better quality) between the Detolf and the much more expensive display cases.

Right now, it's just the Alpine.

For purchase, you may have to correct a few things; I believe that Modeler's Mazda LM55 is now up for sale in the company's website. As far as non-1/64 scale models go, it's the Alpine and the Mazda which are for sale now. But Modeler's will add two more VGT cars to their lineup; the Mitsubishi XR-PHEV and a "mysterious car", which is actually the Nissan 2020 VGT. See this picture for reference;

Modelers VGT.jpg

And yes, they won't be cheap to buy; roughly around 115 dollars is the price I'm getting via currency converter... Ouch.

Holy moly, ~100 € for one of them without shipping costs. Too much for my taste.
I've also found this:

Made by Spark, but it strangely is not available once you try to look for it on the page.

They are resin models, if I am not mistaken, so you're not paying for cheaply-made cars if anything. But yes, the quality comes at a rather steep price, which is a shame.

As for Spark's VW Roadster, I think it was a limited edition-type release, so that might explain its lack of availability.

AutoArt thing.
