Hello all. Im a F1 diecast collector. I started collecting them like 2 years ago. And have 45 models in 1/18.
Here are the pictures. Im planning in the future to collect F1 championship winning drivers from 1970 onwards...
I also have Webber 2012, Vettel 2012 Brazil GP and Grosjean 2013 wich i didnt take a picture as they were on they way back then..
I plan to put them all in a cabinet but i have to have some free time to build one.

Oh I bet it's giving you the naughty looks alright, just be careful; if you have any Chevrolet and/or Dodge models nearby, who knows what she'll do to them... :sly:

Now, all that's left for TSM is to do a scale model of the GT LM in that nice Ecoboost livery and we should be set.

For some reason, every time I see the Ford GT, I can't help but see hints of the (Sbarro) 2006 Alfa Romeo Diva. Wish I had this 1/43 of it, although it would be nice in a different colour.

To me, the Diva looks a bit more like a smaller 8C Spider, but I can see what you mean Doc. It's a fine scale model, but obviously a red body would suit the car so much better...

Also, great detail in that engine bay (lovely Alfa V6 as usual).

Yeah I see the 8c spider too. I think it's the rear that GT reminds me the most of the Diva.

I wonder whether Ford looked at it for inspiration?

Ok, I got a question for you guys:

I got a 1:18 Porsche 911 RSR(?) from Le Mans 2013, I think it's #78 but I'll have to check. Anyhow, the car comes with the wing not attached, saying I need to glue it on, which is no big deal. Is there any specific glue I need to put it on without damaging the paint? I have some silicone that might work, but I just wanna make it won't hurt anything.

Definetly posting pictures when I get it on!

You don't have to glue it in it can still just sit in place

I've used super glue for my wings.

Yeah, I figured that would work. I can't just leave it sit on there, it's got more weight on the back so it'll eventually just fall off. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna damage anything, since this is my first model.

And I'm here, just wondering about how many of you are obsessed with street cars :lol::lol::lol:
My collection is at least 90% pure racing cars (Formulas, Prototypes, GT, rally...).
But I recently god an odd model for my collection: a stunning LaFerrari (Bburago 1:24, for just 15€ it's a little piece of art). I just love this car!

Next...apart from the PS4 option...
1:18 ONLY! AND NO PRESENTATION/PLAIN LIVERY!
Sauber C9 Exoto
(apart from the classic silver, AEG blue/black is my personal favourite livery; Michelin, AEG Olympia, Kouros are cool too)
Jaguar XJR9 Exoto
(Silk-cut ONLY, I really don't like the Castrol...)
Nissan R89C Exoto
(of course the classic blue/red/white, the R90V Cabin is much less appealing)
Nissan R91V Exoto
(there's a chance to find a yellow livery, the most common is a pink one...JUST NAH)
Bentley Speed 8 AutoArt
or...
Ferrari 312P Barchetta CMC
Lancia 037 Kyosho
Lancia Delta S4 AutoArt
----------------------------------
Now, if I chose to pick a LeMans Prototype the Sauber C9 have my vote, no Sparks as the only resin model I was really interested was the Lancia LC2 (and now it's nearly impossible to find).

While I have a lot of race cars in my collection, the problem I find is no one wants to make a lot of the oddball race cars I like in 1/18 period. And the ones that do end up in 1/18 are usually resin. Due to the costs involved in making a diecast model with opening parts and nice details, diecast makers tend to shy away from more oddball cars, which sadly includes the bulk of race cars. Hence why you get Spark, BBR, LookSmart, and Tecnomodel making a lot of these off the wall race cars in resin 1/18.

I say go for either the Sauber C9 or Ferrari 312P.

And that's a shame, I mean...Group C/Le Mans are stunning cars but sometimes in 1:18 there's only the SUPER-EXPENSIVE option, if there's an option at all...that's why I got the Norev Peugeot 905 instead of the Spark.
Quite difficult to complete my type of collection (Group C to nowadays LMPs).

Looking for advice from those of you customize your models. I recently found and bought, after a long search, a Norev 997.5 GT3 like so:

1zu18_Porsche_911_GT3_997_Modell_2009_indischrot_Porsche_Norev_WAP02101319_19732_02.JPG

I think it's suspension sits a little too high and looks silly. I want to lower it a bit, but it wasn't really a cheap model, so I am nervous to mess with it. Luckily I have a Norev 997.5 RS (it's the same model really) which was damaged in shipping last year, so I don't really care about it. It's worse than the pictures look.

Anyways, I felt like it was a good car to practice ripping apart. It was easy to do, but all I did was take the springs out so the wheels are just flopping around. My question is, what would you guys do? Maybe cut the springs and put them back? Maybe you guys know a better solution.
