IIRC though there is like a buttload of different versions of the Devil Z, all from different chapters of the manga (and the anime), showing different levels of modification.

And that's what a post within the forum thread link AOS shared states as well. If you scroll down, you will see someone referring to the manga version as the one autoART recreated in scale model form, which would make some sense when you think about it. If there's one thing Wangan Midnight isn't, is being an elegantly-designed manga... Therefore, the early cars which were drawn weren't exactly on the pretty side, and the same can be said about the characters.

Yeah, I noticed that post. I lurk that topic quite a bit on DX ;)

Replaced the silver 993 Turbo I had with this one, also GT Spirit. Much better! Also got a little studio thing to take better pictures of my models.

Good lighting. You've got a subtle warmness to the overall whites in the photo, the lightbar runs across most (sadly not all) of the body, and the hint of a vignette is great for keeping the focus on the car. I would maybe just crop the pic of the rear shot just so the subject is centered. 👍

Edit: Looks like Boostgear has uploaded plenty- if not all his photos taken at Shizuoka 2016:

http://minicar-fs.jp/html/page213.html There's a lot of brands, and a lot of photos!

Here are some notables:

I think I would pay money for that TSM F1 GTR.

Thanks! I noticed the picture was off centered after already uploading, oh well. Took those quick, I can definitely position the car so the lightbar covers the entire car.

I've been getting back on this and it is going hella slow. I've been working and reworking the fender for ages.

Upon lowering the car, I noticed the gap being lop-sided everywhere. This update addresses that.

Once I finish up the back side of the fenders, I will FINALLY get onto the rear diffuser.

Also, I got a colour printer now, so the possibility for decals is now open!

I had all of my work term to do stuff, but I gave into daily distractions 98% of the time (youtube and video games).

Front_bumper_sculpt_6.JPG

Stuck some plastic on the not-really-a splitter to give the front some detail without succumbing to canards.

Cutting the shape for the diffuser had proven to be tricky for the casting's body was not perfectly symmetrical (great job, Motormax). But after shaving off the stock lip, I stuck a layer of styrene to form the foundation. Another piece will go on top of this.

Yeah, small update. Next I'll have to figure out how I can mimic Rocket Bunny's rear diffuser. I'm sure that's going to set me back another 4 months

I am banned there for classing with a "moderator" who likes to fight.
He actually started the problem and then ip banned me when i had an answer.
So no idea what this link gives.

No problem, some of those guys there are double my age at half the maturity. Here is a copy of that post.

1. Paint seems too dark
2. Mirrors
3. Wide fender
4. Rims too big
5. Headlights have glass cover
6. Wrong bumper

But as it has been pointed out later that the version AutoART went for is likely a version from the manga.

It's looking like I'm going to get a chance to go to Hong Kong in June and I'm thinking this is going to be a great chance to snap up some new models that otherwise could be be too hard to come by online.

I've been writing up a list of places to visit (I probably have a day in hand to visit most of these stores). Are there others anybody would recommend or any from my list I should prioritise??
  • Wing Jet Model Co - Mong Kok
  • Autoart Collection (Autoarts own store to my understanding?)
  • Model Car Expo - Mong Kok
  • CS Models - May struggle to get to this one as its out of the way from where I'll be
  • Toyzone
  • Dabox Toys
  • Newace
  • Model Pros
  • UML Hobby Store
Most of my interest is in european exotics in 1:43 mostly but may grab 1-2 1:18's

I've heard of newace, Autoart, and DaBoxToys.

Don't know about Newace's prices (seeing as how they are priced higher than most online). DaBox is alright, and autoart is well, Autoart. Tagging @RCKakashi14 for more details.

@J-PaP - AUTOart's official store is in Causeway Bay, HK. It's a short walk away from Causeway Bay MTR station. Same goes to DaBoxtoys.
But those two are nearby different station exits.

AUTOart - Exit F1, then head to Sun Wui road. It's in front of Bentley showroom:

Head up to 2nd floor:

DaBoxtoys - Exit A, just beneath Times Square mall. Walk a bit further to Yiu Wa street.

Here are the stores nearby Wan Chai MTR station:

- Hung Hing (my excellent source for 1:64 Kyoshos and Minichamps 1:43) - just exit at A3 then cross the street and enter at the alley a bit to the right and walk.

- Newace is also at Wan Chai and is accessible from the same exit, but it's a 10 minute walk way. In front of CC Wu Building. I'll double check since it's recently relocated.

The great thing about these HK toy stores is their accessibility. And as per family tradition, I'll head there on post-Christmas.

I got this delivered to work today. Don't judge, but I have to say, GreenLight quality's PRETTY low in this scale(1/18).

0.JPG

I also have 1/43(also GreenLight) & 1/64 Hot Wheels version of this Paul Walker car from F&F6. I may do a side by side by side display. GreenLight was nice enough to use the triangular pattern screw to hold the car down to the base, so that should be fun.

I'm not gonna say a word..... but I find that hard to believe.
