My cool beans, Otto's got some more future things to show off:

Otto's been on a roll with me these few months. I have ordered/need to order the 560 SEC and the E61 M5 Touring, and I'm going to get the 300E Hammer wagon, and with this latest set of future items, I'm going to get the E34 M5 Touring and I'm seriously considering the C124 widebody as well.

Oh, and I have the GT Spirit Singer 911 on order as well...

Just gave away all my cars.

Some 1:43 Alfa's and a GT40mk2

Some smaller cars for model railways & a 1:25th Citoren taxi.

Biggest were my 1:18 Back To The Future Delorean and an Autoart Nissan GTR R34 in midnight blue.

There is a high probability I may end up with that purple RWB as well...

Did you end up preordering?

I passed on the 45 EUR shipping fee. When I knowingly bought 5 cars with 30 EUR to ship, I'd much rather binge buy stuff I don't need that pay 45 to ship one car.

I ended up pre-ordering it. I really don't want to take the risk of missing it on ebay or other retailers. Either that or other places will charge even more than GTS with their expensive shipping. But then, I also am a gold member at GTS, so even with the 45 euro shipping, it still ends up being less than most other places.

I'm banking on this risk to save $20

But I'm not too worried, seeing as how it's not a modelissimo/ck exclusive, I'm willing to bet it's not going to be jacked up like the green 964/red 993. While the regular green 993 (2000 produced) does sell for over $200, but there are sales happening at $140 (and still being listed around this price). The purple is also a regular release (2000 produced), so I'm not too worried.

I'll be actively searching in August.

Well, I guess it is different in Canada than here, given the difference between the CAD and USD. Most shops charge around $130-$140+ shipping here in the US for GTS models. Ordering direct from GTS costs $140 for me. Granted, I know one site that has GTS models for $97 USD, but the good stuff sells out uber fast, due to people wanting to make a quick buck and resell them for higher prices. I'd rather not deal with the risk of not finding them for that price and just pay a few bucks more and be guaranteed a model lol...
Anyway...

And that is what some smart sellers exploit to successfully sell marked up prices.

I've done this before numerously in the past and I'd say 4 out of 5 times have I paid more earlier only to find lower prices later. So this time I'm going to change it up.

I'm really hoping I run into one of the Otto Alpines when I'm in England.

Question, is there a large sales area at Goodwood? Like vendors and stuff that sell memorabilia and toys?

This was way under the radar, but GT Spirit shortly revealed photos of an Asia-exclusive release on the 993 RWB, in solid black:

Don't know if I like this one. The fact it slipped by me and it's a market-exclusive is very attractive. The biggest downside right now is how bland it looks. It's definitely low-key on the bling unlike the purple, but it's still kinda "blehhhh".

Is this based on any existing RWB build? I can find pictures of the ducktail build, but the front bumpers aren't the same.

Annoyingly, I can't give you any advice here, as I've never been to Goodwood. :( I wouldn't count on it though. Even at major motor shows there's only been a few model car stands with limited choice.

You can order the model for now at one18.co.uk... Which will ship at the end of June.

Look at this baller strolling back in with a new haul.

Who would you not recommend, if you recall any store names?

Back from Hong Kong. Some great shops around as well as a few that were dissapointing. Wing Jet Model Co, Model Car Expo & New Ace HKD were the winners. New Ace was definitely the best priced & best variety. Would have gotten more if I could.

How much did you pay for all your cars? They look like they're really expensive...

In order of best to worst:

New Ace (massive range, x2 stores within a block of each other, good prices & easy to find what you're after online. Though I suspect some stuff I saw in shop was not online)
Model Car Expo (good range, prices are bit more expensive)
Wing Jet Model (equal 2nd, slightly less range but same pricing as Model Car Expo and some more unique models)
________________
daboxtoys (tiny range, store is hard to sort through)
Model Pro (even smaller range. store takes up about 1m within a shopping centre). Average prices
Autoart (full RRP + some). 1:18 Mclaren F1 LM for example was $50 AUD more expensive than what I found on ebay even accounting for postage. Missing heaps of cars from what is available online. Very 1:18 focused.

More than I'd like to admit. I'd never buy that many so quick but we had some $ to spare from our holiday in the final day so I went back and got some more of what I was after. Probably the best thing of the trip was seeing these brands in person and knowing what is a better quality model vs other brands. We just don't get any of these brands in Australia. I'd have no issue buying something from Mark43, Ebbro, TSM & Looksmart (I have some of the latter already so knew they were good). TSM were probably what impressed me most for the price. I'd been looking for a decent brand making Ferrari models for a while as I loved the old Kyosho 1:43's but was unhappy with Hotwheels or IXO's of later models after Kyosho lost their license. Looksmart definitely ticks the box.

DaBoxtoys is really a small store. Heck, its size is equivalent to that of a studio-type apartment unit. So it's hard to move around especially with that large table at the middle.

I will go back to New Ace for sure since they have finished renovated it. Can't wait for that post-Christmas trip over there.

AUTOart... well, their prices are getting stupidly expensive, I have to admit that. Before, I used to buy two 1:43 scale models there. Last time I went there, I only bought just one (the silver McLaren P1). But the old 1:43 scale models there have retained their low prices.
