That's awesome. I have email notifications from CK, but I never check them.

I was under the impression you bought it off someone privately, which is why I was curious.

I'm not looking to own a BBR any time soon, even if I were to have access to one for $250.
If I had tonnes of money I'd buy BBR's pretty much daily. I saw a few 1:43's made by BBR in a model shop in the city a little while back and I couldn't find one cheaper than $300...:scared: They really are insanely priced, out of reach for most collectors, especially one under the age of 18...

I dunno how it is in other countries, but I have gotten both of my 1/43 BBR's for around $100 each a couple years ago. A red 288 GTO and a 2013 AF Corse 458 GT2. Normal base BBR's are between $120 and $170, while fancy base ones are around $220-ish. USD btw.

I don't know about other folks, when I was still a teen all I had was a Bburago Ferrari 550, and it was a gift from my friend. I don't think you are supposed to afford expensive toys such as BBR/MR when you are still an average student just came out of high school.

Best models I ever got in high school were UT's lol. Mostly was Maistos rather than Bburagos for me lol

Ah, the halcyon days of UT, where £20 got you something with a sweet honesty to it - their E36 range and the Escort Cosworth - to real gems for the time - The F1 pair and the 993 models. They were great times as a budding collector.

I recently bought a 1/43 from ebay coming from Australia via DHL. Will there be an import charge if it's coming to Toronto, Canada? Price of the the model was CAD $24.76 and shipping CAD $15.73

In Canada, there's no guarantees. Are you buying from a large business/vendor or private seller? If the latter, chances are low. A clerk loosely tells me that depends one whether the courier "feels like it". There has been a time where I was taxes $100 for a shipment from a model store in Germany, but another time I had a larger shipment from Japan arrive with no taxes.

In Canada however, if you buy from a business in the States (usually not small businesses), there's a good chance you will be taxed.

Thanks.

I don't know if they are private or huge. This is the seller I bought it from http://www.ebay.ph/usr/onmark1

2700 feedback ratings, no avatar. They're probably shipping things out on their own, and it's coming from PH.

You probably won't be charged any customs.

While I hate how my mail shows up after I go to work, got a new model sitting in the office for my apartment. Of course the office is closed so I can't pick it up till tomorrow... :(

First world problems, dude. At least you have money to buy these things.

I have something to pick up tomorrow as well.

Same here. lol

The best customs tax story I got happened about a decade ago, I bought a model magazine from Japan for 900 yen with the cheapest shipping, and CBSA charged me 11 dollars for it.

Bruh you have a car. A real car.

I wonder if it's because it's model cars that they aren't able to just look up values to charge us customs.

A magazine could be traced back to by the publisher, to this and that, yada yada.

The best model I have is worth about $150, and it's this one...

Not bad for someone who's turning 16 in a matter of weeks... It was actually a Christmas present, paid for by my parents. Most expensive vehicle I've purchased with my own money is the car in the background - a 2013 HRT Commodore in 1:18 scale. I paid $100 for that. Dad though I was crazy, but I couldn't pass up such a deal, even if it did burn a whole in my wallet...

Some photos of my FXXK:

I know I asked for photos, but damn I'm really not into the FXXK. I do like that "59/99" plate though. Can't believe it was only 300 euro for something that scarce.

And this was the model waiting for me in the office:

Show and tell Fridays:

@MSZ, you jinxed me. Smudged decals, chipped decal, a door that wasn't opening because it was stuck to a decal on the inside sill, a wobbly wheel and debris that's more or less stuck to the paint.

Nah jk, it's not your fault. Thanks for the heads up though. I don't feel so bad about it.

Fun fact, I think this one might be a re-release, because it has a 2015 pamphlet, and it's a 33/3000.

One of the 99 pieces is nice, but there are some exclusive colours that they only made ten each, of course no one can buy those exclusives for 277 euros.

Sorry about your GTR man, I don't think it is a rerelease though, they didn't really start selling the F1s before the summer of 15.

I can't store the FW11B in the cabinet atm so in order to prevent damage to the box and the model itself (very unlikely but I don't want scratches since it's 100% new) it's still inside the unopened bigger "shipment box", this sucks.
And the 99T missed the Friday delivery, so I have to wait pretty much 48 hours to get my hands on the model :grumpy:
