That's insane! 👍

Ordered this Onyx 1:43rd. It's not quite as nice as the PMA one, but at £16 and in that Benetton box, I couldn't resist. Plus, it's in the exact sponsor configuration that I consider my favourite livery on the B188-89.

I know I asked for photos, but damn I'm really not into the FXXK. I do like that "59/99" plate though. Can't believe it was only 300 euro for something that scarce.

Show and tell Fridays:

@MSZ, you jinxed me. Smudged decals, chipped decal, a door that wasn't opening because it was stuck to a decal on the inside sill, a wobbly wheel and debris that's more or less stuck to the paint.

Nah jk, it's not your fault. Thanks for the heads up though. I don't feel so bad about it.

Fun fact, I think this one might be a re-release, because it has a 2015 pamphlet, and it's a 33/3000.
Is that the Guiloy model? I had (have, but gave it to my son) one aswell, but I honestly thought I had recieved an early mockup by accident. Smudged decals, stock roadcar rims, stock roadcar interior. I ended up buying the LM winning McLaren by Minichamps instead

I'm only just getting into collecting in the last year or so, but I took a step back and realized how much money I was actually spending and I think I need to reconsider how or what I collect. As I'm sure some of you may have noticed I only have Porsche 911 scale models (1/18 scale, but I have a separate 1/43 collection) as of now, but there are so many other cars/ race cars I want to get once the Porsche collection is complete. Where do you draw the line, how do you decide which cars to go after and which ones to let go?

Don't suppose there is much of a point to this post, just ranting. A model I bought may have been lost in shipment (neither the origin post nor the receiving post office know where it is, it's been in-between countries for a month) and I'm starting to feel like it can be a loss if Paypal can't reimburse me, but they've yet to answer my inquiries.

Oh but there is a point. It's the point where you will force yourself to begin prioritizing.

Every now and then I ask myself if the house caught fire, which models would I not hesitate save first, and which ones would I have less trouble leaving behind? Let's assume you only have so many hands to carry and only so much room for cargo. With that in mind, I have about 4 - 6 models I could let go of much easier than the rest, and soon I will probably sell them.

Yeah, I definitely have some models I prefer over others, but I also feel like getting rid of even a single one will make the collection seem somewhat incomplete to me. The issue I have is that since the collection is so specific it's become too easy (and somewhat ridiculous) to justify buying new ones that fit the collection, whether I truly wanted the model or not. That, I'm realizing, is the wrong way to collect.

Strongly considering selling off the cars I like least and starting up a collection of random cars I like, rather than a specific brand collection.

Personally, a specific brand collection is excessively boring, and I would never buy 10 version of a Ferrari F40...and as I said before, I don't collect road cars of any kind, the ones I have are gifts or child memories. And I'm only collecting 1:18 unless very cheap 1:43. 1:18 scale it's just perfect.
I don't collect random cars I like because it's too much dispersive and If I start with a category I start to get more and more of that category because the car feels lonely on the shelf; would be great to add an Alfa 155 V6 or a Delta S4 but I want to make the Formula and Le Mans collection bigger and bigger, so yeah, priorities...
