While I sit here in my little corner, buying whatever catches my fancy...

We know that, but since you decided to chime in, let's hear your thoughts.

If your house catches on fire and you had only enough time to rescue 10% of your collection, which ones would they be? :sly:

Considering that would be something like 25 or so models, I really have no idea lol

Give it some thought. You know, in case of an emergency :P

I've got 24 currently, so if I were to cut it down to 2 or 3, it'd probably be:

BMW 320i Art Car, Aston Martin Vantage VLT Livery, and Subaru Impreza Type R. If we count the blue Fairlady Z S30 that hasn't arrived yet, then I'd swap it in for the Impreza.

But sheesh, that's giving up the Jeff Koons M3, 964 RWB, a CMC and Exoto, Skyline R32, both F1 GTRs, and an Impreza Rally car. I think it's a good exercise. Now I'm more confident in what I can let go of.

Lol, that is one of those things that I don't know what I would do unless it actually happened. Now, I am going to have to figure what models I'm going to take to my mom's house for storage soon, to free up room for others. I also want to display more of my collection in dust free or semi-dust free cases. My goal is to have at least 100 models on display in cases.

Personally, a specific brand collection is excessively boring, and I would never buy 10 version of a Ferrari F40...and as I said before, I don't collect road cars of any kind, the ones I have are gifts or child memories. And I'm only collecting 1:18 unless very cheap 1:43. 1:18 scale it's just perfect.
I don't collect random cars I like because it's too much dispersive and If I start with a category I start to get more and more of that category because the car feels lonely on the shelf; would be great to add an Alfa 155 V6 or a Delta S4 but I want to make the Formula and Le Mans collection bigger and bigger, so yeah, priorities...

Lol, as it happens to be i think i got the biggest alfa romeo 155 model car collection in the world.
(All UT models 1:18, all minichamps 1:43, all herpa 1:87, all antonette43 1:43, all HPI in 1:43 and in 1:18, lots off BBR 1:43, lots of SC model 1:43, most trackstars 1:64, some wierd toys, 2 unknown maker toys, some 1:18 dicky pullback, most 1:43 remember kits, the glass daum 1:24, most onyx 1:43, and the ones i am forgetting at the moment.)
I did try to get that one as complete as possible, and got a very long way in getting them all. (Bar a few, and i don't add any new ones at them moment.)
But that is not all that i collect. :odd:

I do agree you should keep yourself focused on what you want to collect as there is way to much available to buy it all.

So i got some parts of the whole market i like to collect, and i like to keep those parts strict and make them as complete as possible. With the room i have available i am pretty much "complete" altough some models will be added when i spot a great one.

And that is just my way of collecting, if you just want to buy whatever comes your way you are free to do so.
But getting at a point were you got completeness will be much harder.

Collecting the same model in various scales (1 per scale) is great, probably the only reasonable way to buy it multiple times, I would like to do so, but for one and one only model and I'll probably go for a 330 P4 :sly:

I want to get an f40 in 1:43 any suggestions? Not super expensive please
The one you see there are made by IXO altaya and both are from a specific Ferrari collection, around 10€ so pretty cheap models, the quality is quite good.
Not sure if a Hot Wheels Elite offers more details and quality worth 20€ more...

Micro Machines were awesome, especially the ones that had opening panels like the F40. Wish they would bring them back.
For something so tiny, it's a massive achievement...
I would love to see them.
Will post more soon then, I got a massive collection of Micro Machines both packaged and loose racing cars of course:P(plus fighter jets, posted the loose racing cars around a year ago).
The level of detail is amazing and now those are rare and expensive :scared:

@CLowndes888

@AMG. The F40 is 34mm, and yeah, 25$ is too much, definitely overpriced...
They look so cool. I find it unbelievable that these tiny cars have opening parts and engine details. Most 1:64 scale cars don't have those features!

Good things really do come in small packages.

There is a high probability I will get that CMC Birdcage, though I have no idea when. I really would like for them to re-release the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe someday, as I really want it, but not for the prices what few show up on Ebay go for. Also thinking of getting an LM running Testarossa from CMC.
