When it comes to mad Porsches, I actually prefer Gemballa over RUF:

I got my 1997 version 1/18 AutoArt Ivan "Ironman" Stewart diecast from Canada today. Sorry but I only took one picture and it's not the greatest and I took the hood off to send it to Ivan Stewart to sign in a separate package. More to come eventually.

1999.co.jp is so cheap. Everything I look at on there undercuts everyone else by a sizable margin.

Price wise, LookSmart probably has the better bang for your buck, barring sales of course. Usually they run between $100 and $140 USD for ones without the fancy base. Fancy base ones are around $200. BBR is anywhere from $20-$50 more expensive.
Might have to post some close up shots of my fanciest 1/43's after work...

Ah yes the Deluxe with the leather bases. 200+ indeed but so yummy.

Good lord that NSX is tasty-looking, @Venom800tt.

So, I'm thinking of getting myself another diecast or two. As is, my collection is quite small: a blob-eye WRX WRC car shorn of sponsors (1/18, AutoArt), the 1/43 GT-liveried GT-R from the GT5 CE, and a 1/18 Shelby Series 1 from Burago. Also have a very beaten-up 1/24 Viper GTS.

For space purposes (and money-wise), I'll probably stick to 1/43. Dropping over $100 on a 1/18 just doesn't make a lot of sense right now sadly, though I would reconsider if it were a particularly important car to me. Which brings me to the list.

Right now, I'm looking at the GT Spirit mk1 Exige. It looks fantastic, and I wanted to know more about the brand from people here. I've been impressed with AutoArt quality, so their new Exige V6 is also an option... but they don't offer it in the green I like so much.

Down the road, they might be obvious, but I'd really like to grab an NA Miata and E30 M3. Suggestions? I'd also love to get a 360 CS, but it seems only Hot Wheels really did them.

$100 can't buy you quality diecast model these days, resin brands like GT Spirit and Ottomobile completely own the $100 market right now. The series 1 Exige is a very good model, but keep in mind that it is a sealed model.

Added a Jaguar to my collection. Exoto Jaguar XJR-9 DAYTONA WINNER #60

Neat-o frit! Not flawless, but nice of 'em to put it in.

defrost%2Bgrid%2Bpanel.jpg

Defrost grid panel too. Always a nice add by IG.

bottom.jpg

Basic toy car base, hot glue string included.

exhaust.jpg

Unpolished exhaust pipes are one of my favourite details that IG doesn't overlook.

profile.jpg

higher front, lower back. Yucky poo face.

front%2Bquarter.jpg

Positive Camber!

I'm very motivated to take this apart to adjust the ride height. I spotted the back slanting downward in a few of these photos. In the meanwhile, I'll probably adjust the camber too.

Did you capitalize on that discount at Exoto's factory store?

So DaBoxToys has opened up reservations on the VLT Livery 911 GT3 R. They will try their best to secure as many as requested, so if you're interested in acquiring one, leave a comment in this facebook post!

Thanks AOS, I have left a message there, let's wait and see if I will be able to buy one.

No probs. I'm pretty sure this, like the Aston will only be available in Hong Kong (no citation available). Also, we probably won't know how many of these will be produced either. Sadface.

They have just released the reservation list, I am not in. :(

Neither am I! Nooooooooo! We were too late. Now we have to submit to extorted prices :(

I wanted to get the /43 for my sister when she moves into her new home too.

So I recently looked at prices of stuff like Autoart 1/18 scales and my God it's crippling. In the between time of my stopping collecting en masses and now, prices have become mental.

I really want to get the autoart RWB Porsche and Wangan Midnight Devil Z, but I think the prices may put me off.

The AA RWBs are ridiculously expensive. These things are basically sealed models too with only a pair of openable doors.

Don't know if this is the right thread for these. Here are a couple of my models, both Tamiya. Just finished the WRC Focus a couple of months ago.

Here's the specific thread mate: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/model-car-1-24-plastic-kits.40221/

But it's all good, tamiya bikes are exceptional, I got back into 1:24 cars once I discovered PE parts. You can go wild and it also encouraged me to scratch stuff aswell. STYRENE ftw.

Fujimi, Hasegawa and Aoshima in there also.

Just saw one on eBay, $388 USD + $38 shipping. That is about 3300 HKD/Macau dollars, or twice as much as the original price(1600 HKD)
