This hobby is getting more and more expensive. With prices going up for models (the Ford GT LM Spec II by AUTOart is $85 USD :yuck: ),

[jester]Can you buy one and send it to me then?[/jester] Because it's cheaper than buying one over here. Cheapest I've seen is around $110 USD.

The combined shipping would probably cost too much.

$85 USD + $8 shipping + 6% tax.

Up to $98 USD already, and shipping to UK would prolly be around $20 US.

Just bought a McLaren F1 GTR #59 Ueno Clinic '95 LM Winner from ebay. It was relatively cheap too (compared to what it's gone for in the past). Was lucky enough to get a 2nd chance from this guy. Can't wait for it to get here. 👍

On the other hand, my pocket is now that much emptier. 👎

That's still quite a bit. I've only bought 4 models in the last 3 years.

I can see where you're coming from. I still have quite a bit of money, but for example I would really like that Ford and say the Bugatti Veyron, but they command quite a high price these days. :grumpy:

On another note, I've gonna kinda crazy with bidding on ebay in last few days. One of these days, I'll end up winning like 5 models all with great deals, but they'll leave me bankrupt. :dunce:

I paid about $55 plus shipping.

On another note, people on ebay are crazy. I'm bidding on this McLaren Hakkinen with west decals on it (broken nose too, but that can be put back). The seller is local (my city), but the auction is up to $70 already (i'm not going to go further than that). I happen to be up against 1 person and he's one of those people that are willing to pay $150+ for Schumacher minichamps models. Uhh... 👎 . $70 is already too much me thinks.

I've gotten offered the following model for about $90 US (including model + air shipping from overseas). It's the 2nd one in the picture, the "world champion 2005" special of Alonso's Renault R25 by Hot Wheels. I got about 2 days to make up my mind. What do you guys think.

Oh and I got outbid on that Mika Hakkinen model unfortunately.

I've looked on ebay and it appears that was a 1 time thing from 1 seller and I missed it. Goes for 30-40 pounds nowadays (I think..)

So you think it's too much?
cause hotwheels rip you off
it was for sale at £20 from an online store based in the uk,hotwheels wanted £100 each for them when they first came out and the importers basicly told them to **** off so they then reduced them to £20 but are discounted, was just on the phone to them tryin to get one but they are sold out :(

and for you supercar people

Hi guys, I know we all have been waiting for the Koenigsegg CCX in 1/18 scale and I have a good news for you guys. According to the source from other diecast forum
"I have contact with the PR girl from Koenigsegg Automotive SE and I asked if there would come 1/18 (or even 1/43) models of the Koenigseggs models in the future.

She says Koenigsegg is busy with AUTOart and AA plans to have a Koenigsegg CCX ready in stores this X-mas! "

I think AA has already been secretly building it for the rest of the year and have it ready for us by the end of this year. If this news is %100 true then Koenigsegg has made the right choice to let AA produce their car. I'm wondering how AA can come up with the unique door, going out and up...

Over here their MSRP is about $90 US each (or $120cad someplaces). I think I might just get in on that deal I was talking about. I wish I'd of gotten that 20 pounds deal, even with shipping to canada would've been good, but o well.

Is that Renault R25 the weathered, race dirtied version? It loooks it, and would explain the expense.

went to some local toy shop today, you know the kind that have no idea how much a model costs!
Found 2 blue Suby bugeye WRX sti's by AA for £9.95 each!
and they had a xsara wrc by bburago for £12.95, looked very good for the money.
has anyone got any info on the UT Ford expeditions, they had an XLT and an eddie bauer version, non-window boxes.
had a look at the eddie bauer and it seems to be of quite good quality.

Not only that. It's the special 2005 F1 World Champion edition. Comes with a glass window for display and Alonso's hands up cheering just like he did at the Brazilian GP in 2005. 👍

But I don't think I'll be buying it. $90 is quite a bit of money.

In other news, I just won an AA Callaway C12 "Muko" edition for like $5 (+$20 shipping). Good deal if you ask me. 👍

Hey guys, check out this deal.

It's an AA Lamborghini Countach 5000S. I asked the guy how much shipping to alberta (canada) and he told me $10.50, so the shipping is quite cheap. Whoever wins that one should get a really nice model for a bargain price. Too bad I already have a Countach 5000S or I'd be bidding on it myself.

Also, there's a McLaren F1 GTR #59 "Ueno Clinic" for sale by some guy in Canada , and here's some more interesting stuff.

McLaren F1 by UT 1/12

Well good news! I just won one of those Alonso R25 "2005 Champion" special editions for 22 pounds + postage. Pretty good deal if you ask me! 👍

I didn't go for that $92 offer and just found another on ebay by coincidence. Been buying quite a few models the past few days. Need to slow down a little.
