Hey everybody, just found this thread and looked through the vinyl goodies of you all! Time to show off too, here is half of my records, the other half is in an Ikea Expedit shelf:

Built these myself, note the easy access bay on top and rollers for mobility. :D

Here are some notable records:

Here is my most obsure record: A psychedelic band from Germany called Let Shiva Dance, bought the album on the release gig about 15 years ago, it's limited to 323 copies. They disbanded not long after that and i couldn't find anything about them on the internets. The music is quite a trip!

@tarnheld that is a nice collection you have. Bitches Brew is a fantastic album.

Two of my other records arrived.

Super Hang On with a lovely die cut sleeve and printed inner. Best thing is they sourced the sound directly from the Arcade Game. The Vinyl is also cut at 45rpm too.

I can't express how happy I was to pick this up. Pink Marble vinyl and came with a full size poster and postcard.

If any of you wanted to see my collection so far. I've done a Discogs export.

For some reason I though I had a lot more records. It feels like more. Guess I'll have to keep buying. :)

Oh wow didn't realize there was such a thread on here. I'll have to snap some pics of my favorites for you guys. I sell a lot on discogs and have a pretty nice collection of personal stuff. Just a few pics i had saved on my work computer.

First press mono yardbirds for your love

first press vitagoly (though very rough shape) and a sealed first press PJ VS

I also dabble in restoring receivers and TT's. A pic of a pioneer SX-950 i just restored and it is bad ass.

Picked up a few records I've had in order and also two new ones I hadn't had in mind.

Animal Collective - Painted With (Indie Exclusive)

image.jpeg

Thundercat - The Beyond / Where Giants Roam (Red Vinyl)

image.jpeg

Cavern Of Anti-matter - Void Beats / Invocation Trex 3 LP

image.jpeg

Goonies - Soundtrack (Not Score)

image.jpeg

The Goonies Soundtrack was a gift from my fiancée for Valentine's Day. A nice surprise as its my all time favorite movie from my childhood. Cavern Of Anti-matter was a bit of a blind buy. I'm glad I did, if you like Kraftwork or ambient electro then this is a must.

I also had a sale the other day. First pick going out. Second pic is whats left that isn't in my personal collection. Also a random shot of a fairly pricey blue note Blakey and the jazz messengers.

Picked up another soundtrack.

Moon - Score by Clint Mansell.

I loved the film and score, plus I love Clint Mansells score work too.

Well my Mondo order arrived this morning. I pre-ordered Home Alone Double LP in candy cane and Black Swan 45rpm and black vinyl.

I still find it incredibly odd that new vinyl can be so expensive, yet used vinyl can seem dirt cheap at times.

Not that I'm complaining about the latter.

Agreed. I picked up a '79 original pressing of The Who - My Generation without outer sleeve. The record was in very good condition; I paid £1/$1.39. With the sleeve it would have been worth about £70.00!

I've told my local record store to keep an eye out for a damaged vinyl version but with good quality sleeve and I'll have it off him.

My local has a great selection of used stuff, however he knows his vinyl so the stuff worth money are priced as such, the bargains are even more difficult to find and usually not at his store.

I've never found any deals that good, but there's been a few times where I've checked afterwards and seen that I saved $10 or so over what it would cost online.

The store I go to is lacking a little in the used vinyl section and it's almost to the point where the only section worth looking at it the newly arrived section. The other sections have been pretty picked over, although every once in awhile there will be something decent. They've been stocking more and more vinyl though so hopefully they will expand the vinyl selection in the future.

It's also a part of a small chain so I'd imagine they have some sort of database so there isn't much in the way of bargains either. Although everything there seems like a bargain compared to the local used book store a few blocks from the record store.

@Northstar I'm quite lucky. There is my local store Wah Wah Records (the one I use the most apart from online buying)

Those are old photos, bottom being his used stuff.

I also work in the next city up which is Leeds and it has 3 stores. Jumbo (quite famous) Norman (mainly online but you can visit them to pick up) and Crash. We also have a good selection of thrift/charity stores but they usually have classical or Englebert Humpedinck records.

My dead end town literally has nowhere to buy music except chart CDs at the supermarket. No HMV, no independent stores, nada. It sucks, means I have to order everything online. Funnily enough I ordered that Foo Fighters LP from Norman Records.

I've just bought an original pressing of Radio-Activity for £17 on Amazon.

Today is a good day :D

Well instead of buying a new record I was gifted with this mint condition original pressing of "10cc - Sheet Music" by my manager at work.

image.jpeg

I was also gifted with a book by Taschen of 1000 Record Covers. My team at work know me well.

Well I decided to pick up a few today.
