I traded in a bunch of CD's and got a few new records for my collection.

Iced Earth - The Crucible of Man
Foreigner - 4
Red Fang - Murder the Mountains
Robert Plant - Now & Zen

Aw man, I've never come across a label that doesn't do flat shipping rates... until now. Epitaph Records, one of the largest independent record labels in the world, disappoint me. I wanted to purchase two LPs from their webstore but had to settle for just one (for now) because the shipping almost doubled, making a total of around $60.

So, with that said, my latest purchase is one of my all time favourite albums. Millencolin's 'Life on a Plate' - an album which defined my teenage years, one which got me into punk rock and from there my taste expanded to a wide range of 'underground' music. It's great to finally be able to add this piece to my collection.

I managed to score some tasty treats from HMV Leeds today.

Jurassic Park - Mondo Black Vinyl Variant
Box Trolls - Mondo Black Vinyl Variant
Zombi Flesh Eaters - Mondo / Death Waltz Black Vinyl Variant
The Orb - Moonbuilding inc CD

I was surprised to see Mondo stuff for sale in the UK. If anyone lives in Leeds and wants a copy of Jurassic Park they have one more copy.

Added two more records to my collection. I bought them with all of my little extra change leftover from eBay cards

All together, I've got four of the many Rush albums. I'll have them all one day, and I'm sure @JockeP22 would be proud. I'm just doing the best that I can.

I'll have a few Rush vinyl records soon as I have a few of the reissues on pre-order.

Nice! I really wanted the hologram/40th anniversary edition of 2112, but sadly that sold out very quickly, and I couldn't get a copy. I'll have to find one on eBay for the right price. I do have A Farewell To Kings on the way, though!

Mind showing me what you got? I'll be pretty darn jealous if you have Power Windows or anything else during their 80s era.

I don't currently have any as I just started buying Vinyl a few months ago.

However, these are the ones I have on pre-order, Moving Pictures, Signals, Exit... Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows. I have pretty much all their albums already on CD, but seeing that I'm going to be getting rid of the rest of my collection while I still can I figured I should work on rebuilding the collection.

I went to the record store today and picked up some used records.

I was kind of surprised to see the Rush album there as that's one of the bands that usually get snatched up right as they come in. Band of Brothers is my favorite Dire Straits album so I had to pick it up and The Firm was cheap enough and isn't anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

Good lord, 2112.

There's absolutely zero records stores around here, so I'm pretty darn jealous.
Band of Brothers is also fantastic, and it's pretty cool to see that you got it on vinyl. I hope they weren't too expensive!

There's only one that's relatively close, it's pretty small though.

There are quite a few large ones in downtown Minneapolis/St. Paul that I would like to check out, but I want to be able to go on a spree when I finally get down there (The largest is also moving soon so I want to wait until they open their even larger new location).

Brothers in Arms was $6.20, The Firm was $3.60 and 2112 was the most expensive at $12.60.

Their prices for used vinyl seems incredible, their new stuff is pretty much on par with everywhere else though.

I got rid of the remainder of my CD collection and decided to spend a small chunk of it on vinyl.

The Rolling Stones - (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction single (I actually got this a few days ago, but I'm just posting now)
Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Eric Clapton - Another Ticket
Mad Season - Above
Red Fang - Whales & Leeches

Both "Above" and "Whales & Leeches" are the deluxe versions and I got a pretty good deal on both as they were cheaper than what I've seen online.

I will probably avoid the record store for a few months now as quite a few of my pre-orders come out in the next couple months.

Did I say months? I meant a week and a half.

The Moody Blues - Long Distance Voyager

When the Wind Blows soundtrack (I've been looking at it since I started visiting the store and finally decided to pick it up)

Wishbone Ash - Wishbone Four

@Northstar love Whishbone Ash. Saw them live a few years back.

I bought Amused To Death on HD Flac and I have to say I wasn't impressed. I'm a huge PF fan but AtD was way to political and not without a sense of irony. Talking about the haves and havenots yet re-releasing and album to cash in.

They are probably my favorite of the 70's bands that never got the attention they should have. Hopefully one day their first 3 albums get repressed as I don't really feel comfortable buying used vinyl online.

I'm not huge on the lyrics either, but I do like the instrumental work, especially on the tracks with Jeff Beck. I also think the picture disc looks rather cool so that's a plus.

Today was a big day for me as I've finally gotten something to play my vinyl on!:D

It's an Audio Technica AT-LP60 and was the best reviewed turntable in my price range. Unfortunately the speakers I ordered won't be here until tomorrow so I'm just using my computer speakers.

Just ordered this 12" from The Vinyl Factory. It's a 2 song 12" from Jamie Lidell. The songs were recorded and cut at the same place and the covers were hand painted sleeves.

It's limited to 300 Worldwide as part of an art project running along with Vinyl Factory and other artists and producers.

My sleeve will be different as each one is unique.

Anyone want a download code for the new Aphex Twin (AFX) EP? It came out today so this is fresh off the press.

I'm very tempted to buy this Star Wars vinyl Boxset. Looks so good.

It's a shame it doesn't have the new films soundtrack too. It's out in January and will cost around £130 ish.

The bottom pic is the CD version.

As promised some more pics of the very awesome Kamasi Washington - The Epic vinyl.

I knew it was a triple LP but I thought it would have been in a standard gatefold cover. To my and my local store it's in a lovely heavyweight card outer and the vinyl is in individual covers inside along with some nice liner notes which are frame worthy.

Yes, The Art Of Control is still wrapped. It's a shame Peter Frampton doesn't like this album, and that he never played any of the tracks live. He said in an interview that the record company just pressed him too hard for an album and just made all the work on this album not enjoyable for him. Shame, it has good tracks.
