I think I hit the jackpot, amigos.
My dad's boss was about to throw these out. What's wrong with him? Oh well, at least they're mine now. Sorry for the quality - I had to take them with my phone as my camera was not charged enough. This is a very long post - my apologies.

So this is interesting right off the bat - I now have two FCAs. I'm in heaven.

Warning: There's a lot of AC/DC and Kiss here. Not like that's a problem ;)

That's right - this is Candy-O from The Cars. Never thought I'd have this in my hands. Let's go.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Wow. That's all I can say really. Though it's hard not to think of the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton's movie career

So yeah. I got all of these today. I think I'll need a new box to put all my records in!

Dang, you guys should see the stash my Dad brought home for us from his cousin (Sadly, his cousin doesn't have a record player anymore). Pink Floyd, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, AC/DC, and much much more AND they are all originals or early represses AND they are all in VG+ to NM condition. I am absolutely in heaven.

BTW is anyone familiar with Mexico pressed records? I've got a Mexico pressed the Doors 'The Doors' and the Beatles 'Revolver' that I'm wondering what their value is.

My latest purchase, to arrive in October, The Smith Street Band's "Throw Me in the River" on "fireworks" coloured vinyl, shirt and photobook of their recent tours around Australia, Europe and the USA. 👍

Sorry for the double post but now that I'm living out of home I can have a room dedicated to music playing. So I got myself a new record playing setup which will sit atop of an IKEA Expedit shelf, which I managed to pick up before they discontinued them.

Ok time for another free album giveaway. This time it's Bonobo - The North Borders Tour Live. Head to www.ninjatune.net/vinyldownloads

And use code BE6F9E43

Enjoy.
I'd love to claim this, but I already claimed the last one.
However, I don't think this thread gets enough attention, and I have no idea when someone will claim this code if I do not. Would you be alright if I redeem the code, or would you rather have me wait for someone else?

Go for it fella. I don't personally have any hang ups on who gets in first. Enjoy the music.

Not sure if @Pinkintron claimed it yet, but I've just redeemed it for the hell of it (thinking it would not work), and it went through. Now I can listen to Cirrus in a live fashion . I love it when Szjerdene serenades into my ear. Don't Wait is a favorite, too bad it did not make it live. Thanks for the code.

Yep, I downloaded it already. I guess the code is good for a limited time or a limited amount of uses - who knows. Glad you got it too!

Hey, since we're giving away vinyl download codes, here's a free download for The Smith Street Band's latest album "Throw me in the River". If you're into great story telling, punk rock and don't mind the Australian accent then this one is well worth the listen. Easily one of my favourite albums of the year and probably the best rock band in Australia at the moment.

Go to bandcamp.com/yum and enter xw49-xcgp

Here's a little taster:

Ok guys I used the Code for Smith Street Band as that track posted sounds good :) anyway I picked up Rustie on vinyl so here is the code for that.. enjoy

Artist - Rustie
Album - Green Language
Label - Warp

Go to: https://bleep.com/redeem/rustie-greenlanguage

Use code - PdsGR8kH

I'll also be putting up codes for some other things too stay tuned.

Excellent. Hope you enjoy it!

I completely forgot that I purchased both of Conor Oberst's Record Store Day 7 inches. I always love to have some "B-sides", often a lot of my favourite songs from various artists are those outtakes.

@Cap'n Jack I really liked "The Smith Street Band" album. Needs a few more goes round but I've recommended them to friends on FB as I have some buddies who love that kind of music.

As promised here is another code. This time for...

Dels - Petals Have Fallen

Head to www.ninjatune.net/vinyldownloads

Use code - 1A0E90ED

I thought I had a Sufjan Stevens code too but I've checked and Seven Swans didn't come with one. I may have a Novel Ideas single code for Bandcamp tucked away so I try and find that too.

Hopefully I'll be picking up Bonobo Flashlight EP on Vinyl on Friday that may have a code.

IMG-8460-edit.jpg

Well Flashlight didn't have a code but here is a code for a band I watched perform live today.

They are UK Folk music. Moulettes - Constellations.

Go to - www.navigatorrecords.co.uk/constellations/

Use code CL-0387-000719-1561-0603

Aww. Been waiting ages for a Flashlight code :(. Bought it anyways.

Off topic: Sad Bonobo did not do a Boiler Room this year, but there is a compilation he did for Thump.

Damn guys, don't get me started....

I have over 1000 records, used to dj in clubs around 10 years ago. Mainly focused on breaks, hip hop, dubstep, but my collection has a bit of everything. Plenty of bootlegs, white labels.

One of my favorites, and quite rare - I believe only 300 of these exist.

Hey, let's try and get another page going because I'm tired of my slow internet trying to load those pictures of my record player!

Most recent purchase is a pre-order for the new Jeff Rosenstock album, We Cool?, I ordered it in this pretty 'white/seafoam starburst' colour. Really can't wait for this, Jeff is the man and can do no wrong.

Hopefully this will move us on to the next page. I picked up a couple of records today.

#1 Matt Berry - Music for Insomniacs

#2 Piskie Sits - Live at Unity Works

The second album is of a local band from Wakefield where I live and recorded at a musically historic building originally called the Unity Hall now Unity Works.

Every year we hold a music festival across the city with shops and indoor / outdoor venues hosting bands, the festival is called Long Division.

Last year as part of the festival Piskie Sits recorded the album live. Below is the code to download a copy, however they didn't leave any details of where to download it so if you want it I've put up images of the front and back of the card in the vinyl and I'll let you hunt it down :)

Here's my most recent purchases over the last couple of weeks/months:

qmpBrLG.jpg

From top left there's:

Dead Kennedy's - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
Nothing special about this one, just one of my favourite albums, kind of a spur of the moment purchase.

Jeff Rosenstock - We Cool?
Rosenstock's newest album, in white/seafoam starburst (as posted earlier), this wax colour is limited to 900 pressings. It's also a really good album and available for free at Quote Unquote Records.

Bomb the Music Industry! - Vacation
A re-pressing of one of my top 3 albums. On 'electric sunset' (pink/yellow/white) wax, limited to 500 pressings.

NOFX - S/T
Also known as 'the hardcore EP', it's a 10" record featuring covers of '80s hardcore punk songs. There's no track listing so the true original artists are 'unknown' (but people were pretty quick to find out who they are).

The Smith Street Band - Wipe That **** Eating Grin off Your Punchable Face
A portion of the proceeds from this 7" go to asylum seeker support organisations, the band have raised AU$8190. The songs on this record speak out against our government's policy on asylum seekers.

@Cap'n Jack I really liked "The Smith Street Band" album. Needs a few more goes round but I've recommended them to friends on FB as I have some buddies who love that kind of music.
I forgot to reply to this earlier. Glad you liked it! They're constantly touring, not just Australia, but the world so I'd recommend you catch them next time they're up your way. There's such a good, happy vibe at their shows.

We're not far from Record Store Day across the globe. Is there anything your looking forward to trying to get your mits on?

Out of the UK list I've only seen two I would put in my list of wants and those are...

Run The Jewles - EP
Power Glove - EP

I was close to saying no a few minutes ago, but now I've just seen that there's a Chris Farren/Tim Kasher split 7" coming out from Saddle Creek for RSD. Sounds pretty great too - "Tim and Chris wrote and recorded one song each, and then passed only the lyrics and chords to one another. Next, the two recorded their own interpretations of the other's song, never having heard the original. The results are found here".

That sounds like an interesting idea. Hope you manage to snag it.

I think I might need to up my game, then, if that's what you've collected in the last year! My whole collection only takes up about 3/4 of an IKEA Expedit shelf. The current plan is for, at least, one new record per month.

I've still got until RSD this year before it's exactly 1 year since my first record.

I've got 4 new albums on the way so my total will go up, plus there are two more Boxsets missing from that shot too.
