Okey Jordan, one thing I must ask is, you know how people sometimes will reply to vistor messages on there own wall instead of clicking on "View Conversation" and replying there? (which is one thing I cannot stand)

I remember you saying on another thread that you where hoping in the next revision you will have a solution for that, is it that something that is coming with the next software update? :)
 
Hey Jordan, you say the new site might be up tmw but will there be a point in time when gtp will be down with the switch over? Or will 1 get shut down and the new one up straight away?
 
The pre-launch tests (essentially, "dress rehearsals") have gone very badly, so there's going to be some delays. Expect the site to go down several times while I do more of these tests before the public roll-out of the new software.

As I mentioned previously, I'll make a formal announcement when I set an official date and time.

All signatures will be reset with this conversion, but you'll be able to set a new one immediately.

Yes, the site will be unavailable for several hours during the conversion process.
 
I thought it might have been, only reason I asked was because you said it might be up tommorow and I have a series race tommorow so was curious if that would be effected due to info needed to drivers but as you say your having teething problems I think we're cool.

"When the site is up", as in, after the conversion process is complete? Yes, the forum content itself won't be affected. Once again, though, all content on the site will be unavailable for a few hours while the conversion is underway.
 
Will we still have polls on threads? And will we be able to remove them or will we still be stuck with them on there?
 
Yes, we'll still have polls. More poll functionality may be announced later.

Well, I guess this means a6m5 will finally lose his quote in the signature then?
 
It's the fact he has a quote tag in his sig, something that hasn't been available for a very long time. Similar to Tornado's ancient signature.
 
To my knowledge, updates don't disable things like quote tags, images, centering, or anything else in signatures. That's Jordan's decision to keep things looking clean and tidy. 👍
 
I'll be doing more testing tonight - the forums could be unavailable over the course of the next few hours, but the update will not be rolling out until tomorrow night at the earliest.

What Project said. I know that in iOS, you can put a site right on the home screen, so you can just skip typing it in, basically keeping the app. I don't know about any other OS' though.

Will we be able to edit polls into our threads after posting them? It'd be a helpful feature, since I usually end up not doing the Cool Wall until 9 or 10PM and so I always forget to add the poll. Then I have to lock the thread and make a new one,
 
Or you could just use "Thread tools" > "Add a poll to this thread" option that is there right now...
