Zetaboards?
I'll put my money down on phpBB or Proboards. By the way, seeing as we're going to a new software, will current thread URL's stay the same?
Zetaboards?
Müle;8841551Another site I go to is ditching VB and their new forums look terrible, so I'm nervous. ;x
I'm probably just used to having VB be basically the default forum software for almost every forum I've posted on, though.
JordanI'm now aiming for a date somewhere around Friday, September 27.
No, nothing will happen tomorrow. I'm now targeting next Friday, October 3. I'll make the official announcement as soon as the date is set.

What will happen to our premium memberships? will they still be valid?
I'm pretty sure they will still be valid. I doubt the new layout would effect your membership.
Yes, Premium memberships will remain valid and unaffected.
There will be no more GTP app. The site will respond to whatever device you visit it with and optimise itself automatically to that device through your browser. Is the 4th of october the date when the GTP app will be on tthe apple store aswell?
There will be no more GTP app. The site will respond to whatever device you visit it with and optimise itself automatically to that device through your browser.
The mobile apps will be replaced by the new site itself, which is fully responsive and highly optimized to offer a full (and fast!) experience on all types of smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
I don't really follow what you're asking.
You visit the GTP URL using the browser on your device - computer, phone, tablet - and GTP recognises your device and optimises itself to it. No apps.
Incidentally, you can get Google Chrome for iOS if you're not getting along with Safari. This is somewhat hard to describe, assuming you're not a web designer or developer: it's a layout for the site which is specially designed to "collapse" in an elegant way for all different screen sizes. There is no different "version" for different devices - the content on the page simply repositions itself in a way that is best formatted for the width of your screen. This is called "responsive" web design.
To see a responsive website in action, check out The Boston Globe or Jalopnik. If you're on a computer, grab the edge of your browser window and make it narrower; that's what their site will look like on a smartphone or tablet.
Although it is a very complex and difficult to design and build (hence the reason most sites don't use responsive designs), if done well it can offer all the benefits of a "mobile optimized" site without the drawbacks typically associated with them.
I get what your saying, but what I'm asking is when we go on gtp and It reconizes my phone then optimises itself will it run like an app for ease of use.
The gtp app was awesome for its ease of use via a mobile and this safari is so hard and annoying.
