Welcome to WSGTC newbies! I'll keep this brief and in simple English. Race clean, disciplined, and respectful around your fellow competitors! Fast but incompetent drivers need not apply - rather have slow and clean! Read the Racing Code 685 times (Click Here!).

You must follow the Car Specs and Regulations pictured below (TBA)! Not following specs will result in an immediate Disqualification.

While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'CHAT' feature while Stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them NOW! Otherwise, read the OP. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - Read it! Thank you for your patience!

Car Specs and Regulations (All cars at Max Downforce for GT300!)

GT500 Regs - Open PP tuning.
All cars must be fully broken in, same as they would with set specs.
Modifications are unlimited.

GT300 Regs

Pre-Race Qualifying

• Since we're not doing the weekly qualifying, we'll do a pre-race one instead.
• After pre-race PP Checks are done, the track will be reset.
• The field will be given 15 minutes to do their Qualifying in Free-Run
• If you are satisfied with a lap, DRIVE back to the pits. DO NOT press PAUSE and then EXIT!
• Again, drive back to the pits! Do not press pause and exit!
• Stay in the Pits and wait for the start of the race.
• Once everyone has been confirmed to be inside the pits, the host will start the race.
• Once the countdown hits ZERO, DO NOT MOVE!
• The field will roll slowly and maintain 50mph/80kph
• Maintain your grid spots while holding a double-file grid (8 rows, 2 columns)
• Follow the Rolling Start Procedure Inside the OP!
• Goodluck and Have Fun!

As you can see, there are a lot of available spots in each room. But actually, because of a GT5 bug, we can do a nice race with only 12 drivers per room. It means that we stop the sign up when there will be 6 GT500 and 6 GT300 per room.

If need, we can do 2 rooms per conference = 48 spots.

The cars arent much slower, just a few tenths probably. I was actually faster at Laguna on preseason than on WSGTC 2.

I, personally, don't like PURE's specs. I prefer these specs, with no upgrades whatsoever and no ballast. Not saying PURE's specs are bad, they just don't suit me.

Mixing classes? You mean, mixed class races? That was already on Season 2. Some races had the GT300 and GT500 run together.

I love the PURE specs, I think they're arguably the best out they can get.
BUT - It's also a game changer. It limits the ballast system down to 120KG's max, due to the ballast needed on some of the cars.

Aside from that I do like the idea of open PP specs, and I like the idea of dominantly stock cars to be raced. These cars will be slower, but nothing drastic. Certainly more user friendly, in any case.

Race times will likely stay very close to the same as they would with PURE specs, for the better tire wear, and the extra ease of use, which will most likely result in better control throughout the races.

It would have been the easy way to go, definitely, but I've wondered for some time now if we can't make the cars similarly close, without using ballast by lowering the power/mods, and I think this has done that very well.
There's also the small loopholes in which someone could "cheat" by small amounts with the fixed specs, due to the game's check point limitations. (502hp, 512hp, etc)

Nepalii's complaint about ballast quite frankly makes no sense to me. This also answers your other question, after finishing well, you'll end up with ballast anyway, so anyone that really despises driving with ballast is probably in the wrong type of series.
I'm not sure the exact details of the ballast system Masi has in mind, but I know it goes up to 200KG's, which makes 30KG's pale in comparison.

I think what we have will provide just as close cars on fast/slow tracks overall though.

Yes, it would be very good to see people unfamiliar signing up for these races to learn the mixed grid start.
Plus it's almost season time, good time for practice.

No offense taken.

You should know though, it's extremely realistic, take a look at the '06 vs '08 NSX weights. Mandated ballast by the league on all NSX's.
The strangeness in this, is that for whatever reason, we needed to put ballast on the opposite cars they did in real life in GT5.

Welcome to WSGTC newbies! I'll keep this brief and in simple English. Race clean, disciplined, and respectful around your fellow competitors! Fast but incompetent drivers need not apply - rather have slow and clean! Read the Racing Code 685 times (Click Here!).

You must follow the Car Specs and Regulations pictured below (TBA)! Not following specs will result in an immediate Disqualification.

While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'CHAT' feature while Stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them NOW! Otherwise, read the OP. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - Read it! Thank you for your patience!

Car Specs and Regulations (All cars at Max Downforce for GT300!)

GT500 Regs - Open PP tuning.
All cars must be fully broken in, same as they would with set specs.
Modifications are unlimited.

GT300 Regs

Pre-Race Qualifying

• Since we're not doing the weekly qualifying, we'll do a pre-race one instead.
• After pre-race PP Checks are done, the track will be reset.
• The field will be given 15 minutes to do their Qualifying in Free-Run
• If you are satisfied with a lap, DRIVE back to the pits. DO NOT press PAUSE and then EXIT!
• Again, drive back to the pits! Do not press pause and exit!
• Stay in the Pits and wait for the start of the race.
• Once everyone has been confirmed to be inside the pits, the host will start the race.
• Once the countdown hits ZERO, DO NOT MOVE!
• The field will roll slowly and maintain 50mph/80kph
• Maintain your grid spots while holding a double-file grid (8 rows, 2 columns)
• Follow the Rolling Start Procedure Inside the OP!
• Goodluck and Have Fun!

As you can see, there are a lot of available spots in each room. But actually, because of a GT5 bug, we can do a nice race with only 12 drivers per room. It means that we stop the sign up when there will be 6 GT500 and 6 GT300 per room.

If need, we can do 2 rooms per conference = 48 spots.

You should know though, it's extremely realistic, take a look at the '06 vs '08 NSX weights. Mandated ballast by the league on all NSX's.
The strangeness in this, is that for whatever reason, we needed to put ballast on the opposite cars they did in real life in GT5.

Hard to trust the game's tuning or anything else .

No, but it makes an interesting idea that I can support.

Putting people in rooms depending on qualifying order rather then random "whoever signs up first" order.
I don't mean excluding people that signed up, I just mean if we have 2 rooms, rather then divide people of a closer pace, putting the fastest 6 qualifiers that sign up from each division in room 1, etc, that way we all have closer racing.

It's extra important since we can only run 6 of each class in each room at the moment.

Im not ok with that. Your in room 2 cause you signed up later for the prerace. Should I get bumped down so you can race with friends? I thought this was a competition not a hang out.


With stuff like this you guys might as well take the top quali times and run the final race for the chair and be done. My point is if your going to separate the slower guys you are not letting them get a chance to be faster running with the faster guys.



EDIT: If enough guys/ gals sign up maybe, it might be ok, but this situation may be the deciding factor for me in the series.

The top guys get foverver to decide and test on their cars. Down to the deadline. Lets say 12th place now has to pick a new car that wasnt in their first 3. Does that person get a day to test the remaining cars they get to choose from? Now let say 13-18 have to do the same. Are there going to be 5 more day for them to choose, (1each)? Alot of treatment going into the top guys as of late.

Unless there is a separate class qualifying room prior to the race I would just leave the room order as first come/first served.

Room order based on the completely irrelevant Amuse qualifier is a mistake.
