Updated list.
Did some GT300 work, quite a bit. Got all the cars broken in tonight except one, found some mismatching specs/model years, etc. Set base tunes on each one, with my generic no-fail settings.
And turned off traction control on 12 cars.
So far:
Subaru 08: 26.0 @ Laguna
Toyota MRS: 26.1 @ Laguna
Amemiya '04: 26.2 @ Laguna
After spending an hour trying the NSX RM (nope), and goofing off in the terrible Razo Silvia, I spent another hour setting up the specs, aero, trans, suspension, and LSD on these 10 GT300 cars, pretty well spent just from that.:snore:
Will have full Laguna testing done tomorrow.
Numbers that just don't match:
The standard RE Amemiya, is an '04, not an '03
Toyota Wedsport Celica - 322HP, 541PP.
Arta Garaiya '03 - Makes 329HP at the listed power % and PP, so I assume a fudge there too.
This info might come in handy for the people selecting these for the practice race Friday/Saturday.

This post serve the goal of making the perhaps less experianced GT5 players to understand the new regulations better. Its my opinions so everybody might not agree to every detail, but hopefully the people who are still a bit confused will understand it better after reading this.
Every racing league has its conceptional idea. To me WSGTC is all about trying to simulate real racing as much as possible and have different cars racing on equal terms. In real racing where the cars have substantional downforce they use different amount of downforce at Monaco or Monza. This new regualtions allow for you to do that where previous didn't.
IMO this is a big step forward towards a real racing experiance. Exciting.
GT5 has a flaw. When reducing downforce the car lose grip (good) but its straightline speed doesn't increas (bad). What PD done is when reducing downforce the PP decreases so you can increase the power of the engine and increase straight line speed that way. Even if not perfect, it works pretty well.
Why allowing engine upgrades?
When tuning a specific car in GT5, you ideally want to have an engine where you get a flat max power band of around 1000rpm usually at high rpms. If its less than a 1000rpm band like when having the power limiter at 100% you only get the max power at one specific rpm. If its more than a 1000rpm band you get too much torque and in GT5 HP is better than torque.
Given above, for some cars the stock engine is running out of HP headroom when reducing downforce enabling more HP. So in order to get more power, an engine upgrade is needed. As HP is better than torque, an Engine Stage-3 is always better than a Turbo.
If you didn't understand anything of above, here is what it boils down to for the engine (hope its correct):

So for two cars (Lexus P/D, NSX) you will probably use a stock engine for high downforce and an Engine Stage-3 for low downforce. As you cannot remove the Engine Stage-3, for these you will need two cars in the championship. Not perfect, but a small price to pay IMHO.
Regarding cheating, as mods are allowed, you are not cheating if you install them. Get creative. It might be a Red Bull out there. If so, I wish I knew which one it is.

Welcome to WSGTC newbies! I'll keep this brief and in simple English. Race clean, disciplined, and respectful around your fellow competitors! Fast but incompetent drivers need not apply - rather have slow and clean! Read the Racing Code 685 times (Click Here!). You must follow the Car Specs and Regulations pictured below (TBA)! Not following specs will result in an immediate Disqualification.
While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'CHAT' feature while Stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them NOW! Otherwise, read the OP. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - Read it! Thank you for your patience!

GT300 Regs
- Since we're not doing the weekly qualifying, we'll do a pre-race one instead.
- After pre-race PP Checks are done, the track will be reset.
- The field will be given 15 minutes to do their Qualifying in Free-Run
- If you are satisfied with a lap, DRIVE back to the pits. DO NOT press PAUSE and then EXIT!
- Again, drive back to the pits! Do not press pause and exit!
- Stay in the Pits and wait for the start of the race.
- Once everyone has been confirmed to be inside the pits, the host will start the race.
- Once the countdown hits ZERO, DO NOT MOVE!
- The field will roll slowly and maintain 50mph/80kph
- Maintain your grid spots while holding a double-file grid (8 rows, 2 columns)
- Follow the Rolling Start Procedure Inside the OP!

As you can see, there are a lot of available spots in each room. But actually, because of a GT5 bug, we can do a nice race with only 12 drivers per room. It means that we stop the sign up when there will be 6 GT500 and 6 GT300 per room.
If need, we can do 2 rooms per conference = 48 spots.

Shouldn't we wait until cars have been assigned before picking one for the pre-race? With the deadline being before the pre-race, i don't think anyone will want to race the pre-race with a car that is different from the one they'll be driving for the season. That's the way i see it. What do you think?
