GTRA | RSeat WSGTC S3 | Preseason Round 5 | Spa-Francorchamps

i can race NTSC tonigth, with the petronas sc430, or in the GT300 class with the lexus is350...is it posible ?

I'm ok with your switch it'll even the field, see what everyone else says.

Race starts in an hour and ten. See you on track. Everyone have a good race.

We have about 6 of us currently in WSGTC-NTSC-2 getting prepped to go. I guess we can call this the race room then?

Waiting for the bloody friends list to load. Be there in 1 min.
There no yellow light on coffe cup.

Overall i went ok.We ended up starting 14 and the room seemed ok.The multi-class start procedure didnt quit go to plan but it meant a GT300 won the race so 👍👍.I will leave the explanation to our sleepy friend from France.

Several people should read the thread and know the tire rules. Some forgot to buy RM's and 2 GT300 cars used RM's twice in the race. The 1 time on RM's was explained in pre race chat so there is no excuse for that to happen.

The penalty for that during the season need to be harsh.:grumpy:

I think using 2 sets of mediums will be an instant DQ.

Not sure what was happening at the start. We (500s) let the 300s do the 1st lap and I thought they were supposed to line up behind us. Litchi said to stop and let them lead again so we were starting behind them for the race. Race went good for me, managed to open up the gap on 1st stint. On second stint I was catching IForce into the last chicane and I thought he was letting me though but it was going to be tight. As I was going into the turn he started coming in too. I almost T bonded him, but think it might have been a bit more my fault. But all good as we managed to stay off each other. Ty IForce for quick thinking on your part to leave enough room. ;)
Almost caught they gt300 leader but just ran out of Laps. 1 more corner and I would have got him.

Before we started the sprint race some people were going into the tune settings. I thought this was explained quite clearly that it's a no no. Even Litchi went in there and he was there to keep an eye in things apparently. Maxking went in there too but said after the race that his car wasn't broken in and he needed to down grade the power. He had raced at Indy with the same car so it dosnt take Einstein to work out that his car should already broken in.

Where've had 5 preseason races and were still not getting it right. Just wish the stewards can get there act together and make sure people do the right thing. Hell even some of them can't do the right thing.

Sprint race was good. Even if I was 4hp, 6 PP down I could hold the gap to Maxking after I got around Sailworksman. I pitted 1 lap before him and got into his draught after Eau Rouge and got the pass done. Few corners later i made a mistake and hit the wall causing me damage and couldn't hold onto Maxking more. Next lap did the same thing so I had both rear wheels damaged but still got second.

Atleast it was a lot better than last week.

I don't know what more the stewards can do to ensure that people don't go into their settings in between races other than stating in the regs that it is NOT allowed, it's not rocket science and I don't know which part of NOT people don't understand.....

Litchi is not a regular GT500 runner so he may have had to do something with his car to meet pp for next race, I don't know I wasn't there, no excuse for anyone else though.

Just look after yourself Monstar, don't worry about others as once the season starts heavy penalties will be dished out like confetti for this sort of thing if they have to be making following the rules a necessity 👍

The same applies to tyre usage and as for mixed class staring procedure GT300 should start 1 lap + 45-60 secs ahead of 500's. It doesn't matter who wins the race overall, what's important is that everyone finishes before the end of race time limit.

OP is not correct in this regard as it states that 300's do a lap and then pull up behind 500's, I don't know why, we haven't done it like that for a long time as cars were not finishing in time. It was also discussed and detailed in the thread prior to the PAL races on Friday. We'll get the OP fixed anyhow.

The future doesn't look bright for mixed class racing to be honest but we'll see what attendances are like now the season is starting.

Are you sure people weren't entering the options menu to change tyres and not the settings. I find it very hard to believe that litchi would enter the set up menu between races.
Had this been a league race, anyone entering the set up menu would be thrown out of the sprint race.
Please check your facts though before calling out stewards.

Still no need even if that was the case Dave, tyres can be changed in options menu 👍

Yes mate my facts are correct. See, there's a different menu icon when you go into tune setting and the other setting.Forgive me as of right now I can't think what it's called. 1 setting let's you change tyres and TC, ABS etc and the other is to tune your car. I clearly seen Litchi go to the TUNE setting. The Icon with the little spanner. Even you pulled him up on it saying he had a " FRESH CAR"
Hey don't shoot the messenger. If people did the right thing then I wouldn't have to be the one pointing out the OBVIOUS facts.

I agree with you scanny, what I mean is that the symbols are similar that appear by the drivers name. It is legal to enter the options menu but not the settings menu. I just think you shouldnt call out anyone on a public forum.
Send a pm to steward with your concerns and let them deal with it.

Well thats the good thing about free speech. But where I come from we call people out and let them do the explaining if they break the rules. Even more so when it involves a stewed or the person who's been given the authority of the race series. If anyone's to know better, it's them.
If we just try and brush it under the rug then that will get you no where.

No one said anything about brushing it under the rug, quite the opposite in fact. They will be called out and will be expected to explain but to the stewards, not in public on the forum 👍

But then the people who do the right thing won't see who the perpetrators are and what they have done.
I understand where your coming from but I don't do it like that. If you do the right thing and play by the rules then you won't have to worry about being called out in a public forum will you? Simple as that.

Do the right thing like most people who want a fair race. Is that too much to ask for?

please read the rules that you signed up to and agreed.
pay attention on how to raise a complaint. this really should be the end of this on the public forum 👍

Lol I was waiting for that. I wouldn't have a complaint if people did the right thing.
So who do I complain too if the person in question is the leader?

You can send a complaint to any steward.
All penalty's are handed out by an independent body, namely PURE.
This way nobody is standing judgement on themselves.
Hope this sets your mind at rest 👍

I all.

1st - Chat

When the Steward is doing the checks, do not disturb the chat please.

2nd - Mixed class Formation lap ( you can also read it here).

Mixed Class - Formation lap procedure

  • GT300's will sort their grid positions first. While GT300's sort their grid, GT500's DO NOT MOVE. GT300 cars move from the grid ONE by ONE in qualifying order.
  • The Pole car drives up and parks about 100 m (300 ft) ahead. (WHILE DOING SO, THE OTHER CARS DO NOT MOVE ONE INCH). As he pases the start line, the
  • next driver can move up, and so on. Once all cars are in the correct position and are NOT moving, the pole car may start the first of two formation laps. When
  • the first lap is completed, be sure to pass the parked GT500 pack with caution. As soon as the GT300 pack have passed the GT500 pack (It's not always that GT300's need to pass the GT500's to lead the formation lap, details will be provided by the host before race start), the GT500's may pull
  • away from the start line ONE by ONE in starting order. From here on, GT300's lead the formation lap, with GT500's about 45-60 seconds behind.
  • We use this procedure to try and ensure that all cars got a decent chance of completing the race before the timer (max 180 sec) runs out. By doing this, we
  • also get finishing times for (hopefully) all cars making any penalties incurred easier to apply.
  • With this in mind, follow the steps below:
  • First, you must remember your Grid Spot (Super Lap Qualifying).
  • Hold your positions when countdown reaches zero.
  • Cars will make their way ONE BY ONE to the front and roll as a separate pack.
  • Cars must roll at a maintained pace of 55 mph / 90 kmh.
  • Field will roll double file (Single file for the Nurburgring 24h race).
  • Odd numbers will start on the inside lane relative to turn 1.
  • Even numbers will stay on the outside lane (Opposite side).
  • The Pole sitter will decide the point at which the race starts as he approaches the start-finish line.
  • You must maintain a minimum of One car length between you and the car in front (same lane).
  • One car length is the minimum, meaning it's up to you how large the gap is.
  • You must always maintain FULL visual contact with the ahead of you (opposite lane).
  • You're front bumper must not overlap the rear bumper of the car ahead of you (oposite lane), doing so can be viewed as a false start and a penalty can be applied as a result.
  • You must wait for the car ahead of you (opposite lane) to accelerate before you do!
  • No passing before the start finish line! Penalties will be strictly enforced for false starts, illegal passing, and overall aggressive driving!
  • * In case of a disconnect during the formation lap; cars behind must maintain position and can NOT move up the grid. Doing so can result in a penalty for breach of "jump start".

3rd - Settings page between feature & sprint races

I ran the feature race in GT500. But at the end of the race, I asked to CAMIkaze what was his best lap. He said me 2:28. So i decided to run the sprint race with the Garaiya '08 cause 2:28 seems slow in my eyes and i wanted to see how does works the car by myself. So, I go in my garage, I have 2 Garaiya's at 531pp, one with engine upgrade and one without. I chose one and I just gone 2-3 secs in the settings menu to be sure to not have the engine upgrade on it. It's clearly not my purpose to try to cheat, you know, especially on a race pre-season race... And I finally decided to add CAMIkaze as a friend and send him my Gara '08, with my setup (cause I did a 2:24.5 w/ RH), hope it helps...

OverH asked me if he should do the checks before the sprint race. I thought "yes" but I said "no". Cause we were late and I don't like to be late (the principle of my six years in the army catch me ).

And, of course, your car must be fully broken in before a race. And I've seen someone said (don't remember who): "my car has lost hp and pp after the feature race." This is NORMAL. And, to know that you have to go in the settings page...this is not allowed.

4th - The races

I decided to race in GT500 for this last preseason race cause I wanted to see which problem there is in this category in race. And I've seen...no problem. 👍

And of course, I think many of you guys, really need to read the threads before joining a WSGTC race...

I said my car lost HP and PP. And I know this is NORMAL. I know this cause I read the RULES. Did you? Just like I read the part about not going to settings menu. And every other rule that you have posted.

Maybe the people who want to break the rules should think twice about signing up for WSGTC.

Well it's over now but I'll have no hesitation in naming and shaming those who break the rules in future.

Litchi wasn't referring to you, it was from a previous race, I do know who, but I won't name them. It's clear to see that you intend to play by the rules, please let the stewards make sure that everyone else does the same. It really doesn't help by "naming and shaming" we have a set of rules which people are expected to follow. If everyone makes sure they play by the rules all will be fine. You can't decide which rules you wish to follow, and which you will brake.

Exactly my point but it's not getting though. Rules are being broken. The rules I'm breaking have zero effect on a race. The rules being broken by others do. I'll leave it up to you guys to decide whats more important.

Ive said my bit and leave it.(

Calm down Monstar ;) no worry.

:@: Everyone: The new thread regarding the 1st Round is here.

Important points added. Please read all.

Maybe we should allow people to go to settings menu and then we have to do PP checks again. It would be easier this way. Let's say someone wants to change something on the car's setup from the feature race. I think we should allow them to. To prevent cheating, we do PP check again, and AFTER the PP check NOBODY goes to settings or they are DQ. This would take longer but would be much simpler, imo.
