Heat 1 - 12 Laps - 20 Minute qualifying session - HP Limit 502
Heat 2 - 12 Laps - Reverse Grid Order - HP Limit 502

NEW! Read Below...

Qualifying will be held through a 20 minute session prior to the green flag. This procedure will be subject to change after season 1.

Procedure:

- The track will be reset once everyone has connected into the lobby
- Once the track has loaded, qualifying will commence
- Please observe track contact rules as best as you can
- If you leave and/or cut the track, abort the lap
- If you see a faster car coming, pull over to the opposite of the best line
- Slipstream does not work in free-run so avoid tailgating
- Once you are happy with your lap, do not exit out!
- Drive back into the pits and wait for the Qualifying session to be over
- Once the 20 minutes are up, i will announce the end of the session
- Everyone must drive back into the pits, DO NOT EXIT OUT!
- Once everyone have been confirmed to be in the pits, the race will be started​

A cool car to add to the list of potential GT300 entries, is the Mercedes AMG touring car '92. with 100 kg ballast, and a bit of powerlimiting, it's perfect for the GT300 class. Interesting or too old?
I tested it around Indy, and it should be easy to get on par with the other cars.

I'm doing setup work on another track, so only join when you're ready. When you enter I'll put 4 laps and qualify is a go. No time to warm up here.

I think the grid is good as it stands. Specially with the absence of so many drivers. I don't wan't to see a grid of only 7 with cars that are not GT 300. I think we have enough cars as it is.

Haha, you think I did'nt know it was'nt a Super GT / JGTC car? Well, I did. Reason why we try to expant the number of cars for the GT300 field is part to make the grid more diverse, part to get the team standings between the different classes on par (Will only allow 2 from each livery if we can expand the GT300 selection enough).

A lot of cars that are under investigation are not Super GT / JGTC cars. So can't see that as a reason to rule it out.

But if we get a greater number of entries next season, we have to be prepared. That's all.

So do not see these testings as anything that to 100% will appear in season 3. It's just some testing as of now to stay one step ahead.

If there are more entrants we can always have 2 teams using the same car. In a CUSCO ADVAN Impreza for instance, we could have 2 teams of 2 drivers. One would be named CUSCO Team. The other ADVAN Team. I would prefer something along those lines.

In the GT300 races there's normally 4 or 5 different cars, with a max of 2 of the same car. In a race there should be 2 or 3 of each car, not mostly 1 of each.

8 cars, 3 per livery, that's 24 drivers (27 if we get desperate). Yes, if we do get more entries then we need to be prepared and perhaps do the testing for 1 or 2 RM cars. But letting a DTM car into a Super GT championship, sorry but that's just plain stupid. And I know you're only testing it so far, but there shouldn't be a DTM car in a Super GT championship. Therefore, you don't need to the testing for a DTM car to be in a Super GT Championship. In my honest opinion I think you're creating work for yourselves.

Well, we just have to wait and see whitch car that's closest to the GT300's we use now. If the Mercedes suit the grid best of the new cars we are looking at (Performance wise), my guess is that we'll go with the performance, rather than looks / where a car comes from. After all, equal cars will always be first priority. And you might be right, I might create work for my self. That's what I do here. That's why we have this Championship.
I try my best to make this as enjoyable as possible, and put down a lot of time (not saying you don't, cause you've helped out a lot). So please, give me your thoughts and ideas, but leave out words as "stupid" when addressing me in the future.

If you wish to race this Friday (I assume you know that you can stay commited after looking at the schedule), just attend to a quali session and set your time.
What you need to do is to put "WSGTC" as your automessage. It will serve as an ID when you enter an OFFICIAL WSGTC room. This is extra important when you're new here, since all hosts might not recognize you and kick you out of the room if you don't show that you're an official driver. 👍

I think the lack of car selection is actually the one causing the lack of interest and sub-par turn outs in GT300. That goes along with the fact that there's only 4 premium models to choose from. I don't personally mind driving a standard car, but that isn't the case with most of the casual (and serious) racers in GT5.

Well, that was already obvious to start with. The admins have decided to search for racing spec cars to be added, and if the Merc is on par with the current GT300 cars, we'll have it added. Still, i'll personally prioritize Japanese cars first (like the fantasy LM cars), along with old JGTC cars. The Merc would be last.

They are all different in terms of handling and performance, yes, but they are near identical if we look at their exteriors (current GT300 grid). Like i mentioned before, i think the lack of selection and diversity in GT300 are turning people off so they end up settling in GT500 instead. The standard renders don't help either.

I don't think its stupid, but you're entitled to your own opinion, so thanks for the input anyway. Dennis and Wardez (and conceitedly, me) gives in a lot of free time to work and organize WSGTC to make it the best as it can be, so yes, we create a lot of work ...on that note, your work with testing the cars prior to the season was greatly appreciated. 👍
