Then again, maybe this is all moot seeing as Shagg hasn't clarified yet lol

Yeah I'm gonna clarify cause everyone is confused on how its going to be done. I'd also rather race to the line cause other wise your dodging 500 cars who are being controlled by a bot. I'll explain when I get a chance and add it to the OP

I truthfully think everyone should race till the end of the timer. For one the 300 cars will be guessing on how many laps they need to run every week at least with running till timer runs out they will be closer to actually going the distance that everyone in reality should be going each week. And overall it will just make it much easier for results.

I was gonna say race to the line but I agree with King. Thats way easier

You could just set a timer to a hair under a full lap time for the 300s. Then if someone crosses the line just ahead of the 500 leader, they get their full lap, and you can't get an extra lap if you cross just after the leader. But finishing at the line makes sense and is how it's done in real life. Not too difficult to judge as a steward either, just need to watch about 2 mins worth of replay.

Of course I have no say since I haven't shown up to a race, but I figured I'd add my opinion anyways :)

Hey I was completely unable to get in a lap time to qualify for today's race, i still have not had a car selected but I own the rayBrig premium NSX.
is it at all possible for me to start last in room B tonight?

That's what I'm saying. It takes 5 minutes max to look at it. Post will be up later addressing it

Race was Saturday. We race Saturdays at 730pm ET

No changes to the points I think, but here's the revised laps for race-to-the-line.

Sinladar completed 47 laps
xoOjoshOox completed 47 laps
alefin completed 47 laps
LordChopsington completed 47 laps
ADR_Bronco disconnected, completed 36 laps
TeamDynasty_29 completed 25 laps

setting the timer to the 300 lap time is what I figured I was gonna do but you posted to set it to max so was confused and didn't say nothing. but what i posted is how dual series is run, they somewhat know how many laps they'll run to within a few, but are never sure, why take away from the realism?

So whos ready for nurburg? And btw i thought we used to run gp/d? Or have we always run gp/f?

we usually ran gp/D but this season we're running GP/F.

Where your off is that the 300s get there own seperate checkered flag after the 500s do. So once the 500 leader takes the checkered, when ever the LEADER of the 300s crosses the line the 300s finish too. All the 500 checkered flag does for the 300s is tell the leader of the 300s that when crosses the line next his class is over. Any confusion still then ill just be the one that watches replay. Not that hard.

I'll type it up officially when I get a chance

Thats how the race was ran, just joe kept going is all so was trying to clear it up for him.

Definitely my least favorite too but I'm going to try my hardest to race so I can get weight off

you can finish right ahead of me while taking some weight off. look to see some new front runners this weekend.

Gotcha. I've been meaning to type something up cause we did miss that in the OP. My fault

well look at it this way, one bad race to get out of the way and you get weight taken off, or who knows you could do well again.

Yeah i just dont like this version at all much rather be gp/d, or another track. Going to be a boring race for me. Just how it is, when you race at a track you hate as much as i do this one nearly impossible to enjoy. :grumpy:

True but the weight still stays

Ok you season 5 vets, what's the how the hell did he run that time for this track? 1st practice session starts tonight!

Official finish line explanation. Will be added to OP when I get back to my laptop at home.
The checkered flag process first starts off with the leader of the 500 class. When the 500 leader comes to take the checkered flag and finishes, this starts the end of the race. This is obvious when the server says who the winner of the race is. The rest of the 500 cars continue until they cross the line again and that sets the 500 results.

Now after the finish line message comes saying who the winner of the race is, the next time the leader of the 300 crosses the line, that designates the checkered flag for the 300 cars. For now on, when the 300 winner crosses the line, they are to type into the chat "Win". This will now tell everyone in the 300s that the 300 leader has taken the checkered flag and the rest of the 300 drivers go until they come back to the line. You are only allowed to cross the finish line once after the leader of the class has taken the checkered. So if you are a lap down to the leader of the class and you cross the line after he does you are done also. You don't keep to keep racing to get your lap back.

To enable all of this to happen the time delay in the room will be set to the highest to ensure that everyone on the lead lap of the 500s, and 300s get to cross the line. The time delay doesn't decide anything and is just there to give extra time for everything to finish. The stewards will always check the replay after the race to make sure things are right. If you feel a result is wrong and needs to be reviewed, message a steward and we will analyse the tape and fix or give an explanation.

Hahaha. This is the first week we are entering a track where all of us have no clue what a good lap is. At least at other tracks we have testing data or mock race data. Going to be a real guessing game

If there is still any confusion definitely let me know. Or just keep racing until the clock expires and just wait and see what the result turns out to be  Just to be safe for yourself if you're still confused

One quick question. Why do we not do 20 second timer delay? Cos in that 3 minutes a lapped driver might try to unlap themselves.....

And by the way. I think racing until 3 mins are up is bad because its a hazard to us 300's when 500's cruise around at 40mph. Also as deagon said this is the way they do it in real life. Even in F1 this happens with lapped cars. And the point about not knowing how many laps we'll be doing, I calculated how far back we'll be and it came true. Its simple maths really....

20 seconds won't be long enough for every driver to at least pass the finish line once. They can try to unlap themselves but it would be pointless. The game will think they got a lap back but all that matters is what we type in the points program :). This format will result in the most realistic way to finish races: at the start/FINISH line ;)

King talked to me via phone last night and it took less than 5 minutes to confirm the full room of 16 drivers finishing order. I'd rather spend that 5 minutes getting things right to make sure everyone crosses the finish line

Ok fair point. Then how about just doing 2 mins delay.

It won't be a full 3 minutes. Like I said we are racing until every driver crosses the finish line once. That'll only take about 10-20 seconds more then a decent lap time around here. We just set for a full 3 minutes to make sure and allow us the extra time needed to look at the replay. Hell after you cross the finish line you can do doughnuts for all I care ;) (That's what I did at Indy)

Haha yeah. Or we could just setup a road block...

When you back from vacation?

Yeah just do something hazardous... lol. Like I said atleast with it turned up to it's highest, I know that every driver has passed the finish line. If drivers want they can keep racing but they aren't gaining anything. By lowering it any we are allowing a chance for someone to get cut off by the timer who hasn't even crossed the line yet.

When you back from vacation?
Flying home at 4pm ET. Flight is 2 hours then takes 1-2 hours to get back home from airport. So be home Monday night around 8-9pm ET
