GTS vs GT6 - Cars comparison

From my perspective it is not a big deal if old model from previous GT being retouched and added in GTS. Overall it is significant improvement from last titles. "Made from scratch" is clearly nothing more than PR talk. They want to assure their consumers to looked up at GTS and thankfully PD did a good job at modelling cars for GTS, whether it is completely new model or returning cars. I guess it is worthy promises.

As someone asked for GT5 comparison, here it is along with GT6 as well :

GT5's trees looks better, colored better. Overall Monza track looks better. Can't believe.

Some people on this thread just take the term "picky" to a whole new level.

I would agree, except its blatantly obvious some cars are higher detailed than others. I'm not being "picky" when some guy at PD decided to do his job right and model everything right, and another guy decided not to. On another note, PD never seems to include the little letters on things such as the window tempered stickers or the DOT specs on headlights, something forza/ driveclub did. Also every one criticizing me is a hypocrite, why don't the console companys just stick to PS1 style graphics, heck screw premiums, just give us more standard cars. Don't you guys realize PD has no excuse to have GT5/6's premiums missing if they don't bother touching them up, or do a half ass job doing so? Also you forget I and many others like to do close up photography, which his ruined when a car has visible polygons.

remember that perfect adaptive tesselation on GT6 and did anyone noticed new Viper GTS cockpit on GTS after last update ? did they took car from GT5 or something ? why it looks so ugly? i remember how Kaz was saying how bad was making GT6 on PS3 compared to GT on PS4. yet we still have those ugly details on cars here and there. so PS3 could do tesselation but not PS4.

The 02 viper only had it's exterior touched up sadly . Also the in game interior is lower quality than the scapes/ livery editor model .

Monza in GT5 is a complete disaster compared to the GTS one... what are you talking about?

The "worst" GTS car still looks better than the best car of any other game.... you are quite exaggerating

What is even more unbelievable is that there were plenty of people on this forum who were in favour of that.

The standard cars were what made shuffle racing possible in GT5. So although they looked bad they still had a good purpose. It's not all about photography ;)

Even in GT Sport, some people are asking for lower resolution models if that makes it possible to race in VR mode.

The worst car looks beter than the best in any other game ? Um No , some cars in Forza / drive club . One could argue that small details don't matter , ok Il give them that . But WHEEL ARCHES and rims !?! The wheels on the BB and Diablo are worst than even some ps3 games .

interior touched from what ? from GT5 model or GT6 ? did they not said they making all cars from scratch ?

Are there any cars that were standards in GT5 (or 6) that are now in GTS? Or better yet, that went from standard, to premium, to GTS. Just to see how shafted we really were with those PS2 cars:lol:
Wasn't the Toyota 2000GT a standard car in GT5 then it was remodeled into a premium car in GT6?
For whatever reason, both 2000GT and Sauber C9 aren't listed as a brand new models: https://www.gran-turismo.com/local/jp/data1/products/gt6/carlist_en.html but the Bentley Speed 8 '03 which was standard in GT5 is mentioned.

I think you’re right! Im guessing it would’ve been ported from GTPSP instead of GT4. Still though, the progression of it from then to now would be awesome to see. Whenever you get to it @emula :) Keep up the great work!!
The fact that models were directly ported from GT4 into GT6 is disgraceful. Thank goodness they're gone.
I believe that almost all of the standard models were converted from Gran Turismo PSP which of course was ported from GT4.
So... GT4>GTPSP>GT5

This explains why there are "MX5, Miata and Roadster" at the same time, how all the models says "Exxon" on all versions of the game and how plenty of newer cars like the ZR1 Corvette or Ferrari Enzo (which's premium in GT5) also have their own standard models by buying it via the Online Dealership or by importing them using your GT PSP Garage.

This Dodge Viper GTS was modeled back in the GT5 Prologue days actually.

There's a noticeable quality difference in the interior between GT5 Prologue modeled cars and GT6 modeled cars. The whole "adaptive tesselation" were only on the new added cars at the time and not all of them were getting the same treatment ether.

In some cases i'd say high detailed liveries in GT Sport can make a car look like 'standard car in GT Sport'. Sure car's edges are still round, but when seen one in Online it's clear that they have low detail, especially complex anime cars. Pixelated and hardly reflect anything.

P.S.S. Just noticed how bad the FT-1 is. Please do on track comparison of GT6 and GT Sport's FT-1. Has to take screenshot as race photomode increases car quality.

So kaz was so ****ing on gt on ps3 but its new engine cant even do round objects. Anyone saw impreza wrx sti ugly exterior in front logo and exhaust in rear. But cockpit is good looking. Cant understand what they doing there. How they deciding put cars that are not properly detailed
We had just 2 levels of detail in cars in gt5 but now we have so many levels of cars being less detailed and others more detailed. Like why vent grill is detailed and round but spidometer looks like **** next to it. And then rx7 or supra cockpit looks amazing.

I forgot that you could import cars with GTPSP to GT5. I forget a lot about GT5 now that I think about it. I never really got to play much GT6 since my PS3 died before I really got into. I didn’t even realize the Sauber and Speed 8 had become premiums. I did remember the 2000GT though.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think to date the only cars that would’ve been from directly from GT4 and appeared as standards in either one of the previous two games and are now in GTS are the Supra and the 2000GT. Supra being the only one that was standard for both.

Obviously there’s the plethora of standard R32 and R34s that were standards in those games as well, but they both had at least one premium model in GT5/6 right?

Even the Veyron that is in the game now isn’t the standard Veyron that would’ve been a port from GTPSP. That was an ‘09, which was a premium in GT6, but the ‘13 was new for GT6 and is what we have now.

but sorry, are you doing this talk with the pictures in game? you know that in game you have a much lower lod compared to the scapes, true? all the cars in game have borders with few polygons.
I would be curious to see the inside of the viper in the scapes :D

Well i only care whats in game how it looks when i drive actual car in race. And care for cockpit mostly because thats what i need from game. And they giving us some cars well detailed and some crappy looking as from early gt5 times. Its best racing out there still but i would rather not get viper at all then get it looking like this.

and does that means that cars are not taken from previous GT games will be in best quality vs cars that was in previous games ? but why then renault clio exterior looks so good and WRX STI like crap

DMcG10dXkAg4UHn.jpg

DMcF2-nXkAAa5R1.jpg

and why WRX interior loks good but not exterior. like how devs seeing this and thinking : that good put it in game

on rx7 all is amazing. so does that means they made rx7 from scratch and not Viper ? and why. rx7 was in previous games and viper was too. so why one car is detailed and other is not is beyond my understanding
DUudo_aX0AA59ky.jpg:large

RX7 looks like next gen car and Viper looks worse then GT6

The WRX STI exterior is clearly bugged, PD need to fix it, it's the only car whit a low poly model during photomode on track

about the viper I don't know why they have remodeled the entire car except those round elements of the cockpit.... maybe an oversight or maybe is a compromise for the framerate on that specific car.... in any case still looks better than the viper on other games...

It seems to me that you are exaggerating, also because the facts are different, but the model of the scapes is what the PD have reconstructed from the previous GT and the difference is clear as evidenced by the topic, that then in game there are variable results, has little importance.

Remember that it depends on how the lod works for those cars.
The cars have a number of polygons very variable and the lod acts in streamlining the model based on the load that the engine must handle in the moment, so if you see the ugliness is normal, they do (who + who -) all the car games ..

I remember first car i tried in gts demo was mx5 and i thought all cars will look like that detailed best. Was mistake. For some cars it does not takes your atention so much like sls amg have some uglly stuff in interior but its not so visiable to eye as viper cockpit.
So gt6 to this day still have one of the most detailed and tesselated cockpits out there. And there i thought pd devs are perfectionists.

it's not an oversight or a graphical " compromise. We already have PERFECT cars. PD just decided it was good enough. Things like round circles take 15 mins to do. Again go to any modeling software and it's a slider. I agree with the Subaru , that and the Lexus gt3 are bugged. Also, monza on ps3 has nicer textures than Sazuka does in sport. Didn't PD remodel Sazuka in GT6 as DLC?

I also noticed how bad the car looks in races. The exhaust ports especially. Even the race number decals don't properly fit on the bonnet.
