Sry, forgot to check it after I posted :guilty:

Somehow that bomber of yours reminds me of a Convair XB41... probably isn't one though :P

Man a good one! Polish insignia, but I haven't wracked the plane out of my memory yet.

[edit] More Google than I like to use, but is it a PZL 23? If so, that belly gunner position looks like a doozy.

pzl 23 it is

And it probably is a doozy.

What is a doozy?

Actually, it should be spelled 'deusie' or 'deusy', because it's a diminuitive of 'Deusenberg'. It's anything that's wild or great or cool.

Here's the next challenge:

Ehhh, close enough for jazz, anyway. It's actually a Rockwell Shrike, which was an outgrowth of the Rockwell Aero Commander. The Shrike is an 8-passenger business twin built in the late '60s and into the '70s.

This particular one is owned and flown in aerobatic demonstrations by Bob Hoover, one of the best pilots to ever hold a stick. It's a big airplane, but he makes it dance. I've seen in-cockpit video of him pouring a glass of water, setting it on the dashboard, and then doing a loop and a barrel roll without spilling the water... I've also seen him, live, come in high over the flight line, kill and feather both engines, then do a Split-S, a loop, a hammerhead, a slow roll, turn around onto final, land, and coast up to the announcer's stand without restarting the engines. The guy is amazing.

Your go, 911!

I was reading a site about the history of air racing that suggested that for the sport to survive they will have to start racing planes like the Shrike. Every year they seem to fly into the ground another WWII piston-engined fighter (or trainer AT6). The cupboard will soon be bare. Of course the die-hards say they would rather the sport die.

That would be a Blackburn Firebrand, I believe.

And yes, there are aviation history purists who are pushing to ban the Unlimited air racers, most of which are highly modified warbirds. But man, there's something irreplaceable about hearing them thunder around the pylons...

Too easy!

Firebrand it is.

That looks like a Curtiss XP-54, judging from the inverted gull wing. AKA the "Swoose Goose", for whatever reason.

I've been Owned.... all I have to say now is: llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

Except that it is flying over America - flat and with grid streets.

I think it might be the Grumman XF5F-1 Skyrocket
Actually, it's a prototype Pod Racer...
:yuck:
Sorry, poor joke. You're correct. Brownie points if you can tell me to what other aircraft it's related. Either way, your go.

I think there was an army version with a more conventional nose.

I will post a plane soon.

And for Menglan I shall have to find more challenging Welsh words.

Here is a useful expression: lleiafrifoedd ieithyddol - linguistic minorities :).

Alas! cruel world! Why hast I been owned again by the might of jack?

(allI can say now is dau-deg dau.)
