Hey all, i need to know the secret to drifting hairpin's, i can drift most corners now but i still suck at the hairpin bends, i either end up coming to a stop or spinning out, help me!!!!   (please.....:( :( )

Hey
best place to practice is Midfield, the last hairpin, use a
1)Oreca viper in arcade drift mode.
2)watch Gran dorifto 1, theres a perfect example of how to take that exact corner using a rally pendulum technique, or feint drift
3 ok, so your approaching the chicane on the right hand side flick the car thru the chicance, as you exit the chicae you should be facing RIGHT and sliding towards the left hander. use the brakes and throttle, and maybe even E brake to keep the car facing right, and where you would normally brake in a race, flick the car to the left, by lifting off the gas momenterily (throwing the cars weight forward hence making the rear wheels slide easily) dab the throttle to get more momentum, and use the brakes to slow you down enough, as you hit the apex, back on the gas and power thru the bend, as you flick the car to the left aim for the apex, VERY important! use the brakes and accell to control the slide as you do that.
hope this helps
and I'm no master drifter, okok , to my friends I sometimes claim to be, so if anyone wanst to poke holes in my theory feel free. :)

be light on the gas if u have too much power....
try not to use 1st gear...2nd gear or maybe even 3rd may do wonders ^_^

Okay, my strategy:
  • Put gears 2 and 3 approximately .240 left from their original spot, to give more powerband throughout the corner
  • Brake early with not full pressure
  • Flick up to the outside of the track
  • Flick the joystick in the direction I want to go
  • Regulate throttle and brake throughout corner
This may not work for you, <MOURNINGSTARR>, but it works for me about 8/10 times.

:)

The easiest ways to start and choose good lines for the drift is by doing a Feint. And you really gotta be light on the throttle to keep from spinning out by overpowering when you have low grip.
