...So yeah, Halo 3. Remember when they were going to make a movie (they still might...)? I just came across this at AICN:

Match that with the live-action preview at E3, and it looks like they really want to make a live-action Halo movie. Maybe these will be the commercials we see for Halo 3 in the coming weeks? Who knows...

All I know is that they kick-ass!

I would soooooooo love to see a live action Halo movie.
Picked up, dropped, picked up, and dropped again.

Last I heard Peter Jackson was supposed to be on it (producer) but then it kind of got dropped/left in limbo. The future of a movie is very uncertain right now. Although IMDB does say that Fox has said it will happen and it should be out 2009.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0464037/

I will most likely hear all the Halo news as it breaks because my brother-in-law has acting aspirations and even mailed Peter Jackson his information with a letter requesting a chance to do a reading for "One of Master Chief's soldiers."

Maybe his experience with Halo should involve more than getting headshot by me.

I did hear the other day that Halo 3 went "Gold" just before the week was over, so its a pretty good sign to how close we are to hit hitting the streets. Even better news is that while we're all getting our Halo 3 goodness going, I hear Crysis will have its PC Demo available on that day as well.

...I might have to take a day off of work and school...

I have that entire week off PAID using vacation time. I also have to paint Heathers moms car in real life and start working on a project that I havent announced to anyone and wont until October. :sly:

Thats awesome. Unfortunately, they don't give paid leave to those of us who fold t-shirts for a living...

Anyone been reading the Halo: Uprising comics from Marvel? Its an interesting way to kick-off the story, and I'm eager to see where it goes.

SPOILER ALERT!

Thus far we see that the Covenant is kicking our ass on Earth. A Marine gives them details about a "Key" that is hidden in Cleveland, Ohio (USA). We meet two people (I don't recall the names) who are running from the Covenant, trying to make sense of what is going on. Everyone in the city is round-up and taken to what appears to be a future version (like 500 years in the future...) of the Cleveland Browns Stadium where they are held captive and ordered to give-up the location of the "key." Meanwhile, Master Chief leads an attack on a Covenant ship and is taken down and is in the process of being taken captive for information (I assume its why his armor is so messed up in the initial trailer for the game).

There are three more issues that will be coming out, I think the last one in early November.

I heard the Mountain Dew ad on the radio today... Instead of doing an actual ad for it they should just say "Jump off a bridge, because we told you so oh and you will fly". That's about as accurate as their ad claims.

The difference is, the Dew is actually really good. Honestly, I'd call it the best drink Pepsi sells right now, easily besting my previous favorite, Diet Pepsi (tastes better than Pepsi-Pepsi, IMO).

Yeah, but they'd probably get sued for saying that. It's Red Bull that Gives You Wings, after all.

And two weeks ago, I would have agreed. Now, however, I can't understand why people are going nuts over it.
This is why people are going nuts over Halo3. It has 4 player co-op campaign online, map editor online that friends can edit at the same time( The Forge), save videos from every game online, 16 players online with air and land vehicles, mobile bases, still the best matchmaking multiplayer, and much much more.
If you cant understand why people are going nuts over Halo 3 after reading what I just posted, then you simply will never understand. No game anywhere offers as much online content as Halo 3. 👍

Spot on!

Generally speaking this seems to be the Halo game for the Halo fans, as a lot of people were kinda pissed-off about Halo 2. My guess is that the community will fracture between the "n00bs" and "hardcore" folks pretty quick, and furthermore, I do somewhat doubt seeing that many folks playing Halo 3 as their first Halo expirience (much like how Halo 2 was).

We'll see of course, as we're only three weeks away. Which reminds me:

I need to get my pre-order sorted out...

Admittedly cool sounding pieces (especially 4 player co-op.)

16 players online with air and land vehicles,
I could have sworn the first Halo had that. And besides, Battlefield 1942 had that as well (with 64 players, no less), as well as mobile bases.

Other than the 4 player co-op (and I admit that 2 player Co-op in Halo was awesome), I still don't see what the big deal is. I'm sure it will be great, but after BioShock? I dunno if it will be the genre defining piece that the first game was.

Isnt this the 360 (console) thread?? Lol
I guess I can see why you would start comparing to PC games. Because after all, there really isnt anything on the consoles thats going to touch the Halo 3 multiplayer. Well until Battlefield Bad Company comes out in 2008. That game looks incredible and if it plays anywhere near as good as BF2:MC then its going to be a killer game.

Well, this is unfortunate:

Sony Edits Wikipedia, Downplaying Halo 3 Graphics

ARS Technica
The Internet sees everything. It used to be you were safe to strike out at your enemies via Wikipedia edits, but with the advent of WikiScanner, those days are over. Which is why we're discussing a small edit made to the Wikipedia page of Halo 3. The contributor claims that Halo 3's graphics won't look much better than Halo 2, citing a Time story from March. Page 52, if you'd like to look it up.

Okay, so we take a look at what other edits this contributor has made... we get God of War 2 information, a few things about Liverpool, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Hideo Kojima, Chewbacca—nothing out of the ordinary for a gaming geek or general science fiction fan. A million people just like this make a million edits daily, so why are we discussing this?

For some crazy reason MaxConsole ran the IP itself and isolated the IP range to a particular place: SCEE's Liverpool offices. Someone at Sony isn't too happy with the state of Halo 3's graphics, and they want to talk about it. I don't think I'm going to get all up in arms; as edits go, this was slight and had a credible source, but if I were working for any of the big three I'd be telling my employees to stay away from Wikipedia. It just doesn't look good when stuff like this comes out.

The Internet, of course, doesn't miss a trick.

I'm betting the dude was canned pretty quickly, as I'm sure Sony would prefer to keep out of this. And yes, I'd be just as pissed if someone from Bungie did this for some other Sony title... Leave it to the fanboys, not the actual programmers.
