Maybe it's just me but 285s seem tiny lol.
Yup that's just you bro. On the front my 69 Camaro I have 245/40-18. On the rear I have 275/40-18 and all these tires BARELY fit. Slight rubbing on severe road track events. Any larger and I would have to do quite a bit of modification.

If he fit 285 up front that would be dang impressive. On the other hand he might be fighting the steering for daily driving as the more width up front, means the more the front tires will try to wander around the uneven road. Would be sick for road track / autocross.

I like the rear, the front was never mine on those models, But it looks massivee 👍

Well currently I have 275's all around, which fit fine. Did more digging and you could fit wider tires up front, but I'll need to break out the grinder  So I guess I'll stay with 275's up front, and just get a stickier tire when the time comes.

On the other hand, my brakes arrived!!

275 all around. Nice. On my Firebird I had the stock 245 all around. 275 would have been great.

Ohhh drilled and slotted. Very nice. Cant wait to see install pics. Looks like you are going to have a fun weekend. :D

For sure, it's likely because I'm around trucks a lot so there is way more room.
The last two cars I've owned have had 145s and 165s...

Like I said, I'm around 318x66's all the way up to 368x109's so 145's are like bicycle tires lol

285's in the front? Holy grip. I can't even put 285's in the rear of my car unless I do major work(not that I'm ever going to).

What pad/ rotor did you end up with? I have ls1 brakes for my car and cant decide on a pad or rotor.

I got Brakemotive's Drilled & Slotted Brake Kit. I heard nothing but good reviews about them and you can't beat the price (4 rotors + 8 ceramic pads for $160 shipped :D)

Thats really cheap, you should do a report on how it works, every report I've seen was for the hawks pads that are 80 dollars for just fronts.

Yea I though it was a scam or something too when I first saw it. But everyone on LS1Tech loves em. Ordered, shipping was quick and they appear to be pretty nice quality. So far I installed the front's with no issues to report.

Front left ready for paint :D

Hopefully the paint arrives tomorrow so I can finish the install and get her on the road. Been forced to borrow my mom's Corolla with a whopping 130hp :banghead:

I'm surprised... I actually like the black rims. I almost never like black rims.
Brakes and calipers look really good, too 👍
You should shine up the tires though

Matt black makes the red pop nicely imo. And yes I need to give it a good wash, maybe in a couple days so that the paint fully cures.

Yep, same thing happened when I got my windows tinted. Before, the paint looked average, and then suddenly it popped all over everyones faces.

Clear coat them rims, it'll make them pop even more. Looks good!

I just thought of something that may look good, since you're doing red and black... have you thought about painting the B-pillar black? So the whole roof is black and upper sides are black... I've never seen that done before and it might be crazy enough to look good.

Typically they are the body color...Not sure it would really work.

That could work, and I got plenty of plastic dip leftover. Maybe later, my heads spinning from the amount of acetone I inhaled in the past couple days

Meh, looks decent, but I think I'll focus on my clutch now. Bunch of stuff like master cylinder, slave cylinder, tranny fluid, tranny jack and clutch fluid sitting in my garage for over 4 months now

Well considering most camaros actually had the b pillar black from the factory I think it would look pretty good, although plastic dip wouldn't do such a nice paint job justice imo.

Thinking the "diffuser" part of the rear bumper should be black as well, underneath the line on the bumper.

This was a MUCH bigger project that I initially anticipated, but I finally finished. Turned out better than I expected :dopey:

Will report with review of brakes in a week or so after I seat them correctly.
That looks so sick!!! Car looks so mean now! HUGE improvement IMO. 👍
I do agree with the others that the rear diffuser being painted black would look really good on there to match everything else. You could even use the same plastic dip that you used on the wheels.

You should stop posting pics of Trans Ams with the standard honeycomb rear lights. Much, much prefer them to the blacked-out units ;)

I think you meant 'start'

Blackout covers are a love-hate relationship with TA's. I happen to like the look but I can understand how most people dislike them :guilty:

Looks like I'm going to be busy next weekend

Nah, I meant stop, because it gets my hopes up every time that you've changed yours back

Yeah, I can understand that. It's your car at the end of the day so do feel free to ignore those of us who prefer the others!
