i have finally realized my dream. a fender strat custom. i give back my mesa boogie, add something and take this beaty at home. its a pro series relic from 2009. one piece alder boby, rosewood board 22 frets medium jumbo. snc pickups (like the jeff beck strat) locking tuners. its amazing. i have tried a 57 reissue and a rory gallagher signature, but this blown my mind away. plugged into an old valve bogner sounds like a bream. i have tried some dark side solos and i was almost cryin. its a masterpiece

Epiphone Riviera Nick Valensi edition. P-94s, D'addarios. Best guitar in the house.

Been looking to get myself a cheap valve combo, can anyone recommend anything? I don't mind if it's used or new.

If I'm correct that specific amp, the Valvetronix, comes in 15, 30, 50 or 100W versions.

Correct, mine is a 50. Great customisable effects and settings. Robbed it from someone on eBay for £97 :D

If you're looking for pure bang for your buck, go Fender Mustang amp series. I've got the Mustang II, 100W, and for the money I paid for it the sound and options are ridiculously good.

Whattttt  thats an amazing price! I paid more than that for my 15w Valvetronix. I agree though the effects on it are amazing!

Yeah man it was a steal, especially considering it's absolutely mint.

I've got a new Les Paul Epiphone Custom in red with a Bigsby on it. Amazing to look at, I'll try to get pics later.

Here's my list:

'62 Gretsch Tennessean
Fender Telecaster
Fender Precision Bass
Fender Jaguar
Gretsch 6120 Brian Setzer Hotrod
Rickenbacker 330

Amp: Vox Valvetronix

Thinking of getting a Rickenbacker 360 12 String and a Janglebox but don't really have the room for any more.

Cheers.

Sell the Telecaster to me! 💡

I saved all my nickels and dime to buy my Stratocaster. Some of the money came from the left over college refund though, haha!

Yup, a 2009. Plays excellently and durable as hell. The pick ups are good, but I want to change them to the Custom Shop 69 pickups. All in all, I dont have any compliants about this guitar.

Never even saw this thread somehow...

At any rate, I have a 2010 Squier Jazz that used to be fretless with an ebony neck. I ended up not playing fretless as much as I thought I would so I installed a fretted neck from StewMac. I also replaced the cheapy bridge with a Fender HMV (high mass vintage) bridge and the sustain and deepness of tone is much better now.

I also have an Ibanez GSR205 (I think) which is a cheapy beginner bass that I picked up for $70. It is currently on loan to my brother but he's not getting into it.

That is a nice Bass! Been looking to get myself one as I'm going into songwriting, what would you recommend?

(Edit: I just noticed you're in the UK so my USD prices don't really apply to you but they'll still give you an idea of the cost of each bass relative to each other.)

The newer Squier basses are *really* not as bad as Squiers of years past. The 2010 and up models were improved considerably in fit and finish compared to older ones and for $300 you can't go wrong. This is a low end bass though all things considered. I don't gig, I just jam with a few friends and make noise in my living room. Value for money? Go for the Squier Jazz Bass or Precision Bass, both are $300. The factory nut was junk and buzzed on the A string. There was also a buzz coming from the original bridge and that's one of the reasons I replaced it with the HMV bridge.

If you gave me $600 and told me to go find a nice mid-range bass I'd immediately go buy a Schecter Stiletto Custom-4 in Vampyre Satin, as seen here. MSRP is $699 but they can be found for less than that. The one I had my eye on at Best Buy was $549.

Cost no consideration? A MusicMan Stingray. I can't explain the logic behind a $1500 bass, but go to Guitar Center and play one and you'll immediately understand.
