So come on with your pics! We are curious what kind of guitar you have.
What kind of music do you play?

Whoah! Very nice basses!!

Thanks! I used to have quite a collection, but have consolidated all of them for these two customs. Might find a nice Fender P bass down the road to have for a beater, but these two are my babies. :)

Here it is, starting by up left it's my classical guitar, a valancia, buy this at a pawn shop for 80 buck, first guitar i ever own. The bridge need to be reglued (?) cause the side on the little string is lifting but hey it's a 80$ guitar, who's gonna put money in it! Next to it is my electric guitar, a pylepro guitar(strat imitation) named j.a.m. Got this one for two year, paid around 200$ for it, greT biginer guitar, greatly made ( as told by the guy who tune it at the shop a year ago ) but the pups are pretty normal ( should i change pups or for the price i'm better to go for a greater axe?) anyway, this one got 4 or 5 gig in the body but still play nicely! next to it there my walden acoustic guitar, buy it a year ago dont remember the exact price but i see it from time to time in shop betwen 350 and 500 pretty good acoustic guitar for the buck too, down there is a bc rich ironbird body that i saved from scrap, the old owner try to redo the wiring but didn't iron the wire ( only tape it with electric tape -_- ) so noting was working, he sold the pups and wanted to trow the body to trash so i rescued it, it was pretty damages but i sanded it and repaint it, that's as far as i got into the project yet, down there is a little nova guitar that just kinda appear in a party and never leave, worth nothing and sound like crap :D but i like bringing it to the skate park or when we do long ar trip, as i dont care damage it and its compact and lightweight, i also got a ovation celebrity acoustic bass (my pride so far) but right now its a the shop for general tune, own it for a year and but it used, never had a general tune or changing string( were already fairly used when i got it) and she was not liking the winter so far so i tought it was time...? Gonna post it as soon as i get back, for amp i got a 100w fender mustang III which is pretty nice for what i use it, if you want a pic i'll show, sorry for my english, im getting better but it's not my native language hey!

By any how, do you guy's know something more than me about pickup ( i know mostly nothing :D ) i was thinking about upgrating mt strat imitation, at the shop the guy was boring, getting out of the subject every time by telling me i'm better to buy a brand new guitar ( from is shop, hey hey, bussiness) and the only pick up he wanted to talk about was the tex-mex whorthing around 250$, i was wondering if you were knowing if there was good pick up made for under than a hundred buck's and if i can install those by myself or if i'm better to bring it to someone! Thanks

Just googled it and there are loads of forum threads about like http://www.strat-talk.com/forum/pickup-forum/27850-best-set-under-100-move-closer-srv-tone.html with people asking the same question.

In other news my squier strat is being sent back to the seller, the back two pickup switch positions have stopped working and if I open it up to find out why then my warranty is invalid, so its being sent back to be fixed. That means no electric guitar for 2 weeks :( .

However on a happier note my parents are buying me a guitar for my 18th birthday (2 weeks time) :D , I was looking at a Gibson LPJ in Cherry, it has been ordered into the shop nearby and I'm going tomorrow to have a look/play with it. :D

I just started 2 months ago, and I'm loving it! (thanks to Rocksmith!)
So all I got right now is the Epiphone Les Paul Jr. But I already planned to get that awesome sunburst Epiphone Casino, like the one John Lennon used, somewhere next month!

I can't wait!

My goal is to be able to play "act Naturally" from Buck Owens. No idea how much time it will take, but I don't care! I'm working hard!

Try as many different guitars as you can and spend as long doing so as you can get away with in the shop, and don't settle for something unless you are 100% happy and comfortable with it. Also don't try a display guitar and then get a 'stock' one until you have played it, the difference between two guitars of the exact same model can be huge.

Thanks for the advice. That one may prove useful to me.

I went to the shop last week and spent about 2 hours there playing various guitars, the lpj was the one I liked the most, it was just so smooth to play, however I wanted it in a different colour so that's why they have ordered it in, I will definitely give this one a play in the shop aswell to make sure it feels as nice as the other one.

Cheers for your advice though.

EDIT: The guitar is here. I have been able to take these pics and had a quick play on it through my amp and it is amazing, however I now have to wait two weeks until my birthday till I can actually have it.

So I got a Fender emulation pedal/preamp and a tube screamer. Only 30 bucks each. Sure as hell beats $200 for a 808 and god knows how much ($500-$1000?) on an amp.

For the money, I think these things obsolete amps. Anyone heard of them? Joyo is a chinese company that copies Tech 21 and other company's pedals. And it's all for my benefit. The miracle of capitalism. Quality is exactly the same.

I just wish they'd make a clone of Tech21's Orange style amp pedal.

My guitars :

http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-Guitar-Pickups_c_7.html They sell pre wired pickguards starting at $30. Tone snobs scoff at my suggestion, but their pickups seem to have good reviews :D

My baby <3

Got it for Christmas but forgot to post it up. My amp has been broken since before Christmas so I haven't really been able to blast it :(

The two Joyo pedals came in today. The American Sound is just amazing. It's like I bought $3500 of amps for $30. One side of the dial sounds like a super thick bassman, and the other is a bright 57 deluxe sound. Both get crunchy and awesome.

The OD is great too. Both are huge improvements over the truly awful built-in overdrive channel on this little marshall combo.

Gorgeous guitar, have been looking longingly at those on the internet however can't buy one cause my parents won't allow another guitar in the house. Ironically when I leave later this year to uni I thus will be allowed one however then I won't have the money.

Sorry for the double post however it follows on very nicely.

I now have another guitar, saw it online secondhand for an awesome price in a music shop nearby, so I went and bought it. Mum wasn't exactly happy however has warmed to it slightly.

These are £600 new, however this one was £279 with a really nice hardcase and is in mint condition.

Brilliant looking guitar right there. I'm currently thinking of buying either a semi-hollow electric or a classical guitar, maybe both if I have the budget. I made the mistake of buying a shred orientated Ibanez, and now that I listen to other kinds of music I sorta feel the need for a nice semi-hollow electric. Anyone here have an Epiphone ES-339 Pro, how are they in general?

Mick Brierley Pickups. http://www.brierleyguitarpickups.com.au/

His work for the price is sensational. Hand wound by him how you want and a top bloke to boot. I know he is shipping quite a few sets to the States.
