GOOD NEWS!!!

I'm leaving on tuesday instead of tomorrow. That means I'm in for ITCC, TOCACC and GGT this week :D

Seems like I may have plans to go to a rib festival and a Pirates game this Friday...

Sorry, but ribs win.

well i can agree on that (first thing i havent tried to outright argue :P)

I see how you strategically joined the thread after the dust settled ;)

Still can't understand why you didn't like Storm's bumper at Monaco...

i couldn't see him remember?
also i've been here the whole time go back a few pages and read my walls of displeasured text

Just brake earlier. Every time. Sure, carrying speed is important, but not *that* important.

It's easier to do other things, like carry your speed on exit and make a sweeeeeeeet pass just by drafting past. Well, that is, if you ever figure out why your car's too slow on the straights.

Anyways, we're doing an optional (ie. Not for points) tire test race on Sept. 14th 2013, 14:30 BST.

Name of Event: Akasaka Grand Prix
Track: Tokyo R246
Cars: everyone needs to use their ITCC car
Drivers: ITCC drivers welcome
Purpose/Objective: to test tire wear and compare FFs to FRs
Special Notes: we need both FF and FR drivers please!

Rallymorten is running this event. I'm running the ITC championship, but he's running the tire test/Akasaka Grand Prix. He will be the Race Director for that particular race. If you have a problem, you go to him. :)

I don't like going into a thread I have no history in just to promote something, so I'm luckily going to say more than that

First off, while I won't be able to do all races, I'm hoping to make one or 2 appearances as an independent driver. I don't know when or what car I'll use, but time will tell :)

Second, as my good friend NotMrMelancholy aka ITCC_Andrew wanted myself to do it, I'm glad to announce that the ITCC has been confirmed as the third class for the Akasaka Grand Prix in a little more than 2 weeks time. I don't know if you've already begun the championship by then, but if not it's a great chance to test specs, learn the other drivers' on track behaviour, and have fun. And potentially score some attractive prizes

ITCC will commence during the second week of Sept.

The day after, the Akasaka Tire Test will give further tire wear data for teams interested. It'll also be fun.

Learning the other drivers is one thing. Having an official practice, (more on that later in the season, ;) plans for season 4) however, is very good. I don't want to run a caution system in ITCC, but in your Tire Test, it will be very interesting to re-bunch the field on a series of different strategies and see how tire wear and fuel wear affect the cars.

I've run a 90 minute session in my Atenza. The car felt to be entirely different on a low fuel load. I gathered a lot of applicable data, and a lot of practice.

If we can gather data on how tire/fuel wear affects the performance, we may be able to return to doing pit-stops mid-race. There are plans for consideration for Season 4.

Unfortunately I have already signed up under another class (gt300) for the Akasaka GP, so I won't be able to take part in the tyre test but I will look forward to racing (and overlapping) you all :P

This all sounds pretty damned complicated. I'll have to keep checking here so I don't lose track of this!
And Andrew, thanks for the setup tips. I'm now consistently getting low 1:54 or high 1:53 times :)

There are the hard chargers, like Sparky, Willfred, and Speedy, the hot-lappers like Jammy and Sak, and then the "dicers" who like to try to get a decent position by making good passes, and driving clean laps, like polar and I.

We'll figure out which group you're in and so forth when you join up. :)
when was i a hard charger if you are referring to me going into red mist and ramming you off the track then that was a one off

and what capture do have as the pics look like they were taken with a camera off the screens

Siggers: that's fine. Akasaka Grand Prix is fully optional, not for points.

Adam: 👍 yay! You're fast now! AGP is not for points, don't worry. :) if you can't make it, you can't make it.

Willfred: I'm calling you a hard charger because you're not as highly consistent (ie. Missing the braking point) but you can run decent laps.

My Capture card is the Hauppage HD PVR2. Unfortunately, the PS3 doesn't work with HDMi so I had to use Standard Def cables.

Well repainted my Car due to a new Sponsor xDD
If someone wants to join my Seat Team
=> PM me and I´ll change my Team-name to:
V.E.I.R.T. (Viva Espania International Racing Team)

You only have to switch the Colorscheme (Ananas Gelb - Body // Italian Red - Rims).
If chips are not available, I surely can give you them (I have 3700+ chips => I think I have those chips again).
I can´t make the September events but after that I´m there.
I can help you with FF setups specific for the Ibiza and in general plus a few Tranny-tips if needed.
And the Seat is good to them Tires due to lower amount of Torque (but not too low).

My best Time at Tokyo is a 1:54.0xx and with more practice a 53 is possible.
Plus my Topend is 233kph (236kph if I take my special Last-turn line).

But there is a race this Friday right? Which track are we at? Oh and do we need a headset?

1: Yes, there is a preseason round this Friday. Attendance is recommended, but not necessary for points.
2: we'll be at Tokyo R246
3: No, what would you need a headset for? The voice communications in GT5 slow down the servers quite badly. We use the chat system [
I]Sparingly[/I] during races.

(I say sparingly so that hopefully people won't talk too much during race and distract people too much.)

You can try to improve the quality, if you'd like. Otherwise, I'd suggest you try to accept "a good effort" on my part. Sorry, I'm not perfect.

Baseball. The Pittsburgh NFL team is called the Steelers, from the many steel mills that were in the area.

The rib festival is in Heinz field (Steelers field) then we walk across the street to PNC park to watch the Bucco's!
