Great racing, today, guys!

Sparky, "just leave me alone, I know what I'm doing" was so true for you, today. đź‘Ť You nailed that last "for fun" sprint race.

Also, sparky, please no more swearing after disconnects.

Let's be responsible, here, and own up to the foul language that will not be tolerated in ITCC. Thank you.
I get extremely cranky and grumpy when I'm tired and when bad luck strikes me (FR 1 lag and TOCACC today got my grump up ). I'm far more foulmouthed in person but thanks to GT5's censor system I've layed off a little on my cursing (Thank god ). I arrived to the race in a grumpy mood today.

Good racing despite the shortcomings.

Dave can you make it out more simpler.

From the fastest to slowest car at monza with no chicanes these cars are 2.5 seconds apart,

A good reg set should be inside 2 tenths there,

My regs cover all 8 cars at the nurburgring N24 layout in qualifying conditions in 4 tenths space, the circuit that should benefit one car does not,

Thats not what You typically see from bash.

This is why I want to give him a second chance, with a stern warning to be more polite and patient.

I've yet to see whether Willfred did hit him, or not, but it's not a good enough reason to take it out on other people, regardless of what happened.

If you're mad at Willfred, take it up with the Stewards (that's me, and Willfred, by the way, but we're hiring* for more Stewards) and there will be an investigation that will follow afterwards.

* You get paid in karma.

This. Good racing, sparky. We'll get your mouth sorted, your on-track conduct is respectful and you were trying to calm everyone down. I appreciated that.

Okay, and?

I will steward if you like. And I think the divebomb rule should be more obvious. because more than bash did it. Not as extreme. But divebomb is a divebomb.

If you brake so damn late that the only way through the corner is shoving someone off that is a divebomb.

So after participating in 2 pre-season events I would like to give you my opinion regarding the regulations and some suggestions to improve them:

I think the cars are pretty much balanced. As Wilfred pointed out the FR seems to be a little sluggish so it may need tweaking but other than that I have no complaints :)

I haven't seen a single race so far where the opening pace lap/grid start has been good. It seems like there is much confusion between the drivers (myself included) as to what exactly is going on.
Can we PLEASE make a regulation that prohibits weaving on the pace lap because it doesn't really help the tyres that much and it just causes many crashes as a result of drivers needing to brake and accelerate constantly. Everyone needs to know and be clear of exactly how the race is starting and to me it just doesn't seem like everybody does.

Also it seems like you could generally categorise the current participating drivers into groups of "Fast drivers" "Average drivers" and "Sluggish drivers" (not naming any names). I know this is to be expected in every racing series but it seems more predominant here. This surely means that we would be seeing a similar race results table throughout the season of fastest constantly at the top with average in the middle and sluggish bringing up the back (or rage quitting :P).

So to encourage closer racing I am suggesting a success ballast system be introduced. For example, if you win a race you get +25kg to your car, second +15kg etc; then if you finish lower than say fifth all your ballast gets removed. Obviously this is just a very rough example and would need a lot of tweaking by the stewards but a lot of racing series employ a system such as this to encourage closer racing so I think it can only be a good thing.

Finally, I notice that a lot of drivers retire or rage quit just because they are losing (particularly during the longer races). It is easy to tell when a driver has raged or has just been disconnected. In the GTP WRS they have a system where if you want to retire you just pull into the pits and wait for the race to finish. I think there should be a rule such that if you rage quit then you don't receive any points from that race (if this isn't the case already) or even more so the raged driver should have points taken from his current championship amount for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

I have raced in many racing series (not just on GTP) and no offense intended to the organisers/stewards but so far this seems to be one of the more "amateurish" series just because of the apparent lack of formality in some areas. But I am not saying this series isn't fun because it certainly is the complete opposite of that :D

This is just my two cents and I don't expect any immediate direct action to be taken because the above is just my opinion based on what I have observed, but I feel the need to express it at this point before the season actually starts rather than during the actual season itself. Thanks....oh and great actual racing tonight by the way....and apologies for the large amount of text.

Yes. đź‘Ť

I'm just saying, I didn't see any. The race in question was between Jammy and me, everyone else was 5+ seconds behind us.

Dismal start from some people... :( I like close racing with 4+ cars.

if you brake on impact that is not a divebomb, that usually would teleport you to Kyalami start straight,

Yes. đź‘Ť

Would of been a 3 way smackdown if it wasn't for the lag spike I got skewered with :ouch:

Sucks that you got lag spiked, and then DC'd, but I'm changing the room settings for next time. Say, where is OLLY now, anyways?
I'm still sad that I couldn't continue battling you guys :(

Made up for it in the bonus race as I kicked all of your a**es in a pink focus handily :D

There we go again with the language.

Anyways, I say again, I'm lowering the Room Quality. It shouldn't happen again.

And, then, 3 months until GT6 comes out; maybe the lag issues will be fixed with GT6? Maybe. It would be worth partying about.

I call those situations retribution mode, when I enter some sort of senna/raikonnen (Raikonen or Raikkonen??) mode after a fit of copious amounts of subtle rage.

Really hope that GT6 will offer so much more in regards of the online part of the game :D

This happens to me, too. Channel the "oh, now I have to catch up" energy into your driving, and you may become faster.

...Or slower, but preferably faster.

The angrier at myself and my crappy luck I am, the better my driving gets

Also, the 787B lost it's soul in GT5.

This happens to me on occasion. It turns out, it's when you begin to dedicate even more of your brain's power to the task at hand; making up for the mistakes/bad luck.

It is, admittedly, something you do well. Of course, avoiding it in the first place is a better idea, though it is quite difficult.

Anyways, next week is Monza.

Details:

  • Full weather possibilities (expect the potential for rain)
  • Room quality will be lowered from "High" to "Standard"
  • BMW weight as listed in OP will be reduced to 1300 kg. for further testing
  • Track limits are defined as having, at most, two tires on the red/white rumble strips. First violation will be forgiven (ooops) and every subsequent violation is a 5 second penalty.

For a photo of what that Track Limits definition looks like:

The Toyota 86GT is doing it right. Two wheels are on the red/white curbs, two wheels on the circuit.

The Mazda gets the "Ooops" violation.

The Focus gets the "Oooops" violation.

If either the Mazda RX-7 or the Ford Focus leave the racing surface again, 5 second penalty to the twice-offending driver.

Good.

Like the oooops :P

Noticed how the premium FD looks sexy with those red seats :embarrassed:

That was season 1. It was pretty much run what you brung. I brung one of the orange Subarus in that picture.

Just noticed that I've been moderately successful ever since my debut here on GTP in march O_o.

Also how my skill has progressed over these months. Mel can attest to that himself.
