I played GT4 just the other day and I hadn't failed a driving mission at all so far. I haven't played 3 yet but 4 is soo soo different. It has the monaco and suzuka track off the F1 games and yeah the experience helps.

Anyone play F1 games here?

Oh and forgot to post this earlier but in GT2 there is a Saleen SR Widebody but I don't know if you can buy it or even drive it. Any thoughts?

I drove it a long time ago. Won the World Cup in the Saleen. It's one of those cars that makes winning too easy in my opinion. Also, I personally don't like the color scheme...kinda gaudy, so I haven't driven one since I won the cup.

I thought saleen was a manufacturer. Don't they make something like he mclaren f1, saleen s7 i think it's called.
Yes, Saleen is a manufacturer and the S7R is a very nice model that i sometimes drive in GTR... :D but i think Ford owns Saleen, that's why that Saleen widebody is sold under Ford...

i love those gt4 driving missions. mainly those like you guys said where you have to catch the slower cars. i think my favorite was the one with 6 subarus first i think being a 360 all the way up till your car, an impreza rally car. its fun if you dont make it too cuz then you just got beat by the slowest car on the track

I especially like the Mazda showdown at Laguna Seca.

Parnelli Bone
No no no no no....no used copies of GT4 for Parnelli. Mine is gonna be shiny & black...so black you can see your reflection. :) Funny thing about that driving mission comment, tho Back when i was exploring GT1 i used to enter the Sunday Cup with a Viper at High Speed Ring and let the computer cars get like a half lap ahead of me, then i'd see if i could catch them!
Er, ...

The GT4 disk, the one I have, anyway, is actually silver. It is shiney enough to see your reflection in, but sort of cloudy looking. I think the reason it looks cloudy might be that it's a dual-layer DVD.

i dont play any f1 games, but i do watch it all the time on tv so im pretty farmiliar with the tracks. it does help to get the turn in times and speeds just right

I was familiar with the Monaco layout because in about 1975 I had designed and used an approximation with HO slot car track. Of course, that was before the swimming pool forced those diversions near the end.

I think of my slot car set as GT0.

Hee hee, I was making a reference to the scene in Spinal Tap when they were looking at the Black album (aka Smell the Glove).
