But why would it be patently offensive? He hints, he makes a pass, you reject him. End of story. I can easily see how you'd be annoyed by someone who persisted after you said "no, thanks"; but I can't see how that would be different based on the gender of the other person involved. I mean, I understand your explanation but it doesn't affect me that way.
What prompted my original comment to jpec was the fact that I hear similar things all the time: "I got nothing against gays as long as they stay away from me." I find it fairly conceited to assume that any gay man would automatically find you attractive. I certainly don't expect every woman I meet to flirt with me.
