High School

We had a half day today. Came home and did some yard work so I could have everything done that I usually do on the weekends done so I can go watch the 'Bama game with my girlfriend. I might not be able to go anyways. :/

There were 3 fights today, all within about 7 minutes. (they happened between 2nd and 3rd period) Everyone was all riled up today. Funfunfun.
Also, scored a 96/100 on an Algebra test. An Algebra test. I did wayy better than expected, I tend to suck at math. :P 👍

Tomorrow is a half day, then I start my fall break.
Lucky. Our fall break is during the 3rd and 4th weeks of November.

I had an art tech project due (A mailbox, worst possible thing I probably could have chosen) and the welding teacher for the project said I could come in sometime last week. Behold my procrastination! I didn't do it and now I'm scared crapless that he won't let me finish. I don't want to piss him off because I have him for manufacturing next semester.

I received my report card friday and managed to pull off a 95 in english. This was my lowest grade so my 4.0 GPA stands a little longer

It's really unfortunate that I had to start high school this year because I have possibly the worst classmates in the history of schooling. Apparently, the word 'personal space' doesn't apply and what the teachers say might as well be said by a toddler. Now do you see why I have no desires to make friends with anyone in my grade?

In a more positive light, my grades are really impressive. The lowest grades I had in my first semester were 85's. Seeing how I felt I did absolutely terrible in all of my classes, that's like a trip to victory lane for me.

My sisters grade (one below mine) is horrible. The teachers that are their teachers now had heard about them since they were in 5th grade. 5TH GRADE!! I thought I had succeded in escaping having any classes with them. NOPE! Thanks to the Alabama Board of Education I have a class that is required and is a.... 9th grade class. The worst class of 9th graders in the history of my school. So, I have so far missed 9 i repeat 9 breaks sitting in that classroom during break because they dont know how to shutup, sit down, and respect the teacher. So I feel your pain.

My careers class and art tech class is like that, and it's a grade 10 course. I'm all for fun every now and again but when the teacher says something it's like another language they can't comprehend so they just don't quit.

Hey guys! It's been a while since I have posted here, but that was due to me having driver's ed.. It ended today, except for the final test on Saturday. On the drives, the instructors said that I did very well, and scored a 1 (best on the scale rom 1-5) in all categories. The test shouldn't be too hard, as it's mostly common sense, and is all multiple choice.

If all goes well for me on the test, I should have my permit by Monday :D

Today after school our band was practicing for freaking 3 ours for the Christmas parade we are doing in December, and now my knees, arms, and buttox hurt from all the drumming!

Glad there's someone who can relate to my problems in a way.

I only imagine what things would be like on your school bus considering mine is hell. There's this one girl who always sits at the front of the bus and insults or taunts people for no reason, and her friends who freak out at everything. Then you have the guys who sit at the back of the bus and act rude and ignorant.

From what I've seen, few other school buses here are like that.

There is this group of people that are only in middle school and our bus driver is out of town for a week so she told me to handle the kids: if they get too loud or dont sit down etc. So I went an told them to shut up and sit down not mention they are the swag yolo type people. They sat there with me standing next to them told me to shut the **** up and go away. Ooooohhh if it wasnt for they are girls I would be going to corrective school for 20 days. Then also today(ive had a staph infection) asked me if my girlfriend punched me in the face.? I didnt really understand that one. So are they used to abusing their "boyfriends" or something?

Finished my last full day of school today, and on Monday I go for one class and my vocal lesson, and then I have no more high school unless reincarnation is actually real.

The working for money sounds good, but the doing something doesn't. :P

Today is homecoming, so we have the typical american football game. Only issue is that it is raining and it is a mandatory pep band performance. I don't like american football, so I'm going to forced to suffer by sitting on a cold, metal seat, in the rain, watching something I hate.

So don't go?

Hah wow you have some of the best luck ever. I dont know how many times when I was in band we had to sit in the freezing cold while it was raining. WITH OUR INSTRUMENTS!! For those that dont know most instruments will actuallycorrode if exposed to rain. Not like rusting it just falls apart. It is awesome.

Being a 5th year student, it's been quite a relaxing year really, I only have 3 courses this semester and 3 next semester. I've also managed to stay out of the drama that seems never ending in this town, and made a few new friends that I'm glad to know and wish I would've known sooner.

The workload is actually larger than it was last year with a full course load, but it's been rather swell. I've been involved with Student Union and helping tutor a student struggling with math. Certainly busy, but hey, its worth it.

College planning is coming up and the possibility of an online program for business seems rather tempting, something that would be better suited for me.

Really though, I gotta say to all of you, you may be going through what you think are problems (and honestly some of them are), but you can do a lot to make your time in high school enjoyable. Get involved with something you enjoy that's challenging and stick with it, find your release, and surround yourself with positive people. Someone dragging you down? Don't let them.

Really though, if I had someone tell me this years ago, it really would've helped. Hopefully my comma-splice error filled post provides some encouraging words

5th year is really laid back, isn't it? :D The teachers treat you better, and understand if you decide that there's no point going to a particular class. I have 5 classes, and over the year have sort of dropped 3 of them.

Staying out of the drama is easy if you meet the right people, and it's good that you met the right people. :D I've done the same as you and kept out of the drama for the last two years, and life has been great.

You seem to have more school time left that me though. Tomorrow I have music 1st class and my final vocal lesson in the school straight after, and then I've most likely finished all my schooling, unless I do a course later on.

I'm really starting to hate this time of year. I have to get myself back into shape for Basketball season and I'm someone who does not like the gym or working out at all. I'm trying to learn C++ since I bought a book on it four months ago and never used it. I also have to negotiate with my parents to let me do driving school in January so I can get my license when I turn 17 in July. I also have to make sure my grades are A's and B's just because I want a better GPA (My Freshmen year is haunting me because I slacked off so much).

Well...

Junior Year I'll be taking 3 College Courses at a Community College and at Senior Year I'll be full time and do a GED. meh.

I mentioned it was a laid back year for me, my teachers must've read that, because I'm absolutely swamped with homework this week . But hey, nothing a bit of hard work can't fix. Another piece of advice to you guys (and gals). Plan everything, plan as you go along. Makes projects so much easier when you already know what you're going to do. See what your assignments are as soon as possible, and ask many questions so you know what you're doing. Believe me, the 2am race to get your essay done is not as fun as it sounds :P

@iMikeTheKing Never knew they factored all your 4 years of high school into your GPA there. Schools in Canada focus on your senior year and if giving an early acceptance some of your junior courses (though all our courses are on our transcripts)

@Skython Yeah I'm stuck in this "two star" town until June. (That was a reference to a song by The Killers, if you weren't sure) And I'm not able to drop any courses, otherwise I owe the government some money (a grant i got for running a summer business as a student would turn into a loan I'd have to pay back :scared:)

Indeed, being aware of what you're doing before actually getting yourself down to it helps not only finish them quickly but also contemplate how you handle with it effectively beforehand without errors.

It also keeps you from committing to doing too many things at once. As I seem to have. I have an English presentation, book to finish, two essays to start, a math assignment. and a chem slideshow that I'm helping with that all needs to be done in 200 minutes tomorrow. :scared:. I'm afraid I've stretched myself too thin again

Oh how fun... I feel lucky to have not done the business owning thing my school offered me now... :P

Didn't have school today, which is pretty nice.. The only downside today is that I'm sick, so it hasn't been a very pleasent day... I also passed the written test for my drivers ed. class on Saturday, and I was able to get my permit yesterday. So, for the most part, these past couple of days have been very nice and relaxing.

Today a girl decided to wear a dress for school. Sadly she did not know with the right amount of sunlight that it is see through. I saw her try to open a door with the sun glaring through, to see her only wearing her undies. She struggled with the door for about 20 seconds and I watched for all 20 seconds and then some more while walking in the hallway when she passed a spot that had too much sunlight.

I need help.

Well, back in my horomone filled days of middle school I was walking by the girls locker room after gym one day and needless to say I can tell you why a girl was considered the hottest girl in school back then.
