High School

Apparently my school lost the homecoming game last night. Doesn't affect me but I'm sure a ton of people are disappointed.

We lose every single year. This past year was the first year we won because the team we faced sucks. We won 63-0. Last 5 years or so we've lost it at the same score or similar.

Well at my school we win one game every season. That is against a 1a rival that went 0-10 last season. Last night we lost the biggest rivalry in our county. Even though it is called that my schools football has won only 3 times. Last night made the losing streak in this rivalry go to 17. The score 49-14. The school we played is named walker high school. You might remember it from the news a few weeks ago where the head coach of walker and an assistant coach of the other team got in a fight. Tell me in a post if you heard about that.

Well, let the weirdness of seniors begin... One was fishing in our drainage pond (for rain) at school, wearing a full fishing outfit, in a lawnchair, as if it was an everyday thing

Got my Term 3 school report today... And it is noted that I'm not actually doing much. One says that I don't seem interested in Business Studies. It's sort of true most of the time. Another says I am a pleasant and mature student. And my results have been mixed due to prolonged absences (heh... About that). The next says I need to be less relaxed, and that I have strong skills in the class but I'm just not using them. Which is true again. And music as always says I'm doing great. All my marks in music are Merit or excellence (which means I am doing well in the subject).

Not a very good school report, but oh well.

In my school every sophmore and junior takes the PSAT and then the juniors take the actual SAT at the end of the year, albeit an unofficial SAT. It's all country sponsored. And the freshman take a test called the RediStep. I am soon going to get a micro-camera and wear it in the halls at school because this year, I'm seeing things that cannot be explained, so a video is probably the best bet.

My school's football team was one of the best in the state until this year where we've only one twice, the record is 2-2. ut last athletic director made plans for a jumbotron in the stadium, but the new athletic director scrapped that (THANK THE LORD) and is looking at plans for a new track and a scoreboard for the baseball field. The football team got coach buses and food at every game which is a waste of money. I think they need a losing season to get them back on track and down to earth again. And after 1 game, their national rank dropped over 1300 places. Hehe.

I think my school would suspend me for wearing a camera and recording people.

Also, I'm forced to go to home football games because of marching band. Not sure about away games, but they've lost every home game yet. I know how you feel about that losing wish. I feep terrible that I root against my school, but I can't help it. They don't deserve the recognition they receive. And I hate my school. I know marching band isn't the most exciting thing and that's not why people go to football games (I don't want to be there either), but the studenr section booed us at one game. I can't believe how disrespectful my peers are.

When I was in marching band we had to go to ALL the games. All 1 wins and 9 losses every season. Most people came to either hang out with friends or watch us. The student section every year would do some cool aspect of our show in the stands. Like last year before I quit to pursue interests in track we did a version of cantastic. Thats where you play a drum solo but on big metal or plastic garbahe cans. What do you know every game there was the student section with people with big garbage cans beating on them.

I'll got one of those hidden cameras in a pen and put in a pocket or something.
And it's not that I want the football team to lose its just that the football teams are [removed due to sensitive nature of some people]. They need to get back down to earth and realize that the school is more than just them.

Guys, I think I have done the impossible. I have succesfuly made it out of the friend zone. Now lets see how long it lasts. Hopefully, a while.

Here's how my day went.
Had an assembly, which was some old guy talking about modern sculptures for an hour, which to me was torture (I can't stand modern art) then during the next class (which was 2 periods), we had a 45 min discussion about the presentation, then for the second period, we read poetry for the entire time (another thing I absolutely hate with a passion)
Then for soccer, it was our conference semi-final game, and we lost... in a shootout.

Man that sounds like one of the worst days ever. But hey all you can do is sing a sad song and maybe it will all turn around. Punpunpunpun. Or allusionallusionallusion. Whichever you choose.

I'm fed up with highschool, currently in my senior year, most of my friends were older than me so they all left, I'm really not digging it. There's no where to go where I live and there's nothing to do. Honestly just want to move on and go to a proper school or do something worth while.

If you have a movie theater or any type of arcade or anything like that your town or city is doing better than mine. We have churches and a bowling alley.

Coming back from a Cross-Country meet on the bus right now. Just made the JV team and don't have to run in the "C" races. Just realized I probably should be doing the calculus and Spanish I brought but I still have tomorrow I guess... :dopey:

For soccer, we managed to salvage third in the conference tournament, for the 7th year in a row
On the bright side, we completely destroyed the team in the third place game which was really fun

And as life would have it, I miss school.

I really don't like to admit that. At all.

My town has...hmmmm...it used to have a bowling alley or movie theater. Circa 2002. People always go 30 min. away to go do anything. It's very boring

So being in Australia and all is senior school in America the same as in movies with everyone driving and parking at school and the cheerleaders being with the jocks? Do they have parties every week?

I think it is at public schools (never been to one so I don't know for sure) but I go to a private school and none of that happens (apart from people driving obviously)

Yeah. Having all of your friends with you everyday was something awesome.

Yeah I agree. You don't see it when you are there though, and might not until your out a little bit. I still see them frequently but I do miss it.

Short answer? No.

Much of what you listed have a small element of truth to it, then exaggerated greatly. Are there parties? In some places, once in a while. Do some cheerleaders date the jocks? At some schools, yes. But the ubiquity as portrayed by movies is by no means universal. Remember, Hollywood is make believe.

Some of what you see depends on the area that you live in. In a wealthier area, most of the Seniors would drive themselves and park at school. On the other hand, this won't be true in the poorer schools.
