High School

Just got my Schedule yesterday, It is an alright one, too bad I don't have lunch with any of my close friends:ouch:
Law in American Society
Physical Education
Spanish 2
Dual Credit Math
Lunch
Robotics
Creative Writing
Dual Credit English

Anyone in LA is probably dealing with the BS called "MiSiS" or "MyA$$" messing up their schedule, losing records of students, and the superintendent of the LAUSD is sitting quiet. First the iPad debacle, now this. Haha, though why do we still expect LAUSD to get something right at least once?

Just got done with Freshman focus! It was pretty fun; tug of war, a tour, and a t-shirt design competition all followed by a pep rally. :)

Wow, Back when I was a Freshman, we had to spend 3 weeks outta the summer to do school work , That was our Freshman "Connection"

Well... I'm starting to venture outside of the GT side of things here...

I'm gonna be starting my senior year in a few weeks, and man, do I not wanna grow up...

Woop Woop :D

Got into Warwick Uni to do Mechanical Engineering, moving there on the 27th September so not that long to go :) . Time has gone so fast, that last 2 years have gone in a blink.

School for me starts on September 2nd. No longer a freshman, yay. Looking back at last year, my grades were downright unpleasant. My goal for this year - as far as grades go - is to not drop below a B average, really gotta push that GPA up.
I also got my schedule yesterday.
  1. Earth Science
  2. Driver's Ed
  3. Geometry
  4. Tech Writing & Communication
I hope there's more than two people I know in each class this time around.

You better not screw that up. Lol.

Goodz lucks.

First day back to school - good.

They said to be there by 7:55, so I arrived at 7:50. The gym was already FULL. How did some many people get here already? I don't know. Anyways, a few minutes after talking to some friends on the bleachers, our principal and another man came in and told us how this year will be, blah, blah, blah. You know, the stuff they speak every year.

Our group ambassadors, a senior and a junior, showed us around the school. The tour was about 20 minutes. Nothing bad with knowing where everything is.

After that, we ate some lunch in the cafeteria. The meal consisted of a sub sandwich , a water bottle, a chocolate chip cookie, and a bag of chips. Everyone ate and talked for about 30 minutes until we returned to the gym.

In the gym, we got another one of those "speeches". Right at the end, the principal announced that he will be doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with another staff member. Students yelled out the name of who the other staff member to get iced on. We were told to go right outside the gym and into the hallway. Just when we thought we were going to see some teachers getting iced, it started raining pretty hard.

We walked through the hallways to find our lockers. My locker was located on the first floor and near the center. Not a bad spot.

Next up, it was time to go to our classes for 5 minutes. Everyone walked from one end of the school to the other to get to their classes. Mine were mostly located upstairs. All we did once we were in the class, the teacher said some basic rules and how to get to your next class. Easy.

5 minutes before the end of the day, we went outside. There was no rain. All students crowded around the principal and the teacher. 2 students dumped out the bucket onto the staff's heads. Everyone was laughing and oohing and everything.

And that was it. Not a bad first day.

My school district starts next month after Labor Day iirc. Our high school orientation is on the 25th. sucks to be you guys starting school so early.

The perks of living up north , I start the 3rd IIRC and it seems like people would have enjoyed starting that late

First day for me is next Monday, but the staff must have their heads up their asses more than usual this year. By this time last year, we'd all know what homeroom we were in, but there's nothing for us yet. Nothing on the main doors of the school, nothing in our school emails, nothing online, nothing anywhere. I mean really? One week away and nothing when last year, we knew everything we needed to at the beginning of August.

Because you guys get out later than us. We get out earlier for summer than you guys.

School starts tomorrow. I'm not ready to be a Junior. I want to be a Sophomore again. Growing up sucks.

If my school could actually tell us the results of the 'junior parking raffle' on the day they said they would, that'd be great. Getting really tired of this anticipation...

Hell, my school hasn't settled on any rules for parking at our schools YET and they said to pick up the parking passes last Wednesday. I'm getting tired of my school already.

Got 2 weeks left of summer then back to the books. This may very well have been my last summer vacation cause I hope I'm working by next summer.

My high school/college-hybrid classes start next Monday and I'm already dreading it seeing as how I don't know anyone there. Didn't really get to have a summer as I basically had it all used up on summer classes and band :guilty:

Ugh, at least you're guaranteed a space, though. Seniors get first pick, then juniors gotta cross their fingers for what's left over. For the 500 juniors wanting spaces this year, there's only about 100 spots to choose from. Unfortunately, the school has a 'good neighbor policy', which basically means 'don't you dare park elsewhere'. As such, all the surrounding neighborhoods have NO PARKING signs on every street, although I have parked in a little private parking lot in a gated neighborhood with some success- my mom's bright blue car got banned the first time I parked there, but my car doesn't arise suspicions. Surprisingly, nobody ever noticed me crawling under the gates...

Really hoping on a parking pass this year.

Well high school has been very easy for me, 6 days in and things have begun to level out. I like the pretty girls there, and the worst news I got was that the driver ed class uses ford focuses.
But history is easy too. I've gotten asked if I was a senior 5 times. I'm not I'm a freshman.
But for right now its good.

My school has too many parking spots that's the thing.

Here's the thing. We've only have 500 people at our school and probably about 150+ or less that drive to school. They're forcing the teachers to pack in the back and only they are allowed to park there. That leaves the front spots, which is closed for seniors, and that leaves the Juniors and the Sophomores who drive. There aren't enough lined parking spaces for both grades to share the rest of the spaces, which means they have to park in the grass... but wait! We're not suppose to park in the grass, so that leaves the pit that is a long walk to the school and it's has dirt and mud in it. Cleaned your car? Too damn bad. Plus, if someone goes out that far and something happens to them, you won't even know it until it's too late.

But whatever then...

And they just did this this year.

You drive what's available. I drove a old Honda Accord. Stop complaining. Also, high school worse each year. Freshmen just get a easy ride at first.
