High School

Well, the Maths test actually went alright. I feel like I did pretty decent.
I'm going to have two more tests tomorrow, one for Chemistry and one for Physics. I'm worried about the Chemistry test, my friends told me that it's quite hard...

I find the assignment extension for the NSW Education in Senior Years to be a huge joke.

You can literally just be lazy throughout most of it and still get an extension on your assignment. It frustrates me a bit since I am rather slow with School Work and have to try hard to get the assignments in the due date and yet I see people just getting appeals they don't deserve for an extension and some don't even hand their assignments in on their new time anyway.

My history class was too big and the school somehow got more money in their budget so now i got into a newly made class. Sadly though, it took the place of my English class where I made some of my only friends.

My Yr 11 yearly exams start on Monday the 7th. English studies to kick things off. We have 45 minutes to write a narrative, and the other 1h 15 minutes is English studies stuff I think. I do studies because if I did standard or advanced, I would have to write a 3 - 6 page essay about a poem from Shakespeare and I'm no good at writing essays, so studies is the easiest Yr 11 and 12 English class.

Just finished mu English studies exam about 1 hour ago and I am so tired from studying all night yesterday. 1 day down, 8 to go until the exams are over. I have nothing on Wednesday so I am happy about that.

Had my math exam today. I didn't quiet finish the last extended response question, the question went for 3 pages including the "a., b., c." sub - questions. I got half way through it then I ran out of time.

I keep hearing about GSCE here, do people play game stock car extreme in school?! :P

3-4 weeks into high school, being a senoor is underwhelmingly boring and dull so far. Might be due to the absolute drag of a school I'm in.

What's wrong with teachers being gamers? I'm a teacher, and I'm a gamer. In fact, I teach a unit of work called "Virtual Worlds" that looks at emerging media.
Absolutely nothing wrong with teachers being gamers, I was just surprised. My Physics teacher also made a Pokémon reference once :P.

I just found out my programming teacher is a Warcraft player. Is that count?

Im in college yes but kinda engaged in conversation.

The former band director at the high school (former because he resigned and got arrested shortly thereafter) was a big PS3 fanatic. He used to bring his PS3 to the band room and let students play games on days that we were not doing anything.

English Studies no longer have exams for my school. Likely because these Exams are to prepare you for HSC Exams and since Studies doesn't have a HSC Exam, they figured that there was no point on having Exams for them.

-----------------

This Week, my exam started with Ancient History where after a few questions, we had to write 2 Extended Responses and then my Multimedia exam. Next Week begins my 2 biggest exams, Maths General and Japanese Beginners Writing and Reading then Drama, then to end it all. Japanese Speaking and Listening

Well I've been in school for a while, so I'll list my classes:

  • English IV
  • Interior Design
  • Confident Consumer
  • POD
  • Lunch
  • Phy Ed
  • Choir
  • Study Hall (but due to senior privileges that I have I get to go home)
We have a student teacher in my 3rd and 4th hour classes that is kinda hot, so I've got that goin for me. And if @The Bman thinks that class with the freshman is bad, try taking a Phy Ed class with 20 of them who would rather goof off.

I had my last exam yesterday, It was Agriculture. I finished with an hour still left until I could go anywhere :(. I almost fell asleep out of boardom.
Just have today and Friday at school and tomorrow at TAFE then that's Yr 11 over and done with :dopey: :sly: .

Today in Economics we got a project where we had to find out what area on the political spectrum we we're in. I pretty much ended up where everyone else in the class was: Left Wing Liberatarian. I could care less where I am, since I'm not into politics, but the second half of the project is that we have to argue two points that are supported by our party, I suppose.

That's the part I'm stumped on. I have no clue what Left Liberatarians believe in or what it is exactly. I can tell you the liberatarian part means that you want less goverment in your personal life, but that's about it.

So if anyone's got any experience with Economics, I could certianly use a helping hand.

Long story short, I hate this class...

(Apologies for bringing up politics in a high school thread.)

This might help. I guess thinking like whatever this says will help. That's all I've got.

I finished all of my Exams on Thursday. Here is my take on them.

Ancient History - Very decent, I think I went OK in the Extended Response questions.
IT: Multimedia - Pretty Easy Exam. Guess all the difficulty came from the Practical Assignment
Maths: General - TALK ABOUT A DIFFICULTY SPIKE!!! It's like if they just put anything in Maths that was Challenging in the test and not anywhere else as Maths was pretty easy for the rest of Year 11.
Japanese Beginners: Reading/Writing - Reading was pretty good but I struggled with the Writing, mostly my fault there.
Drama - Not too bad, could be worse.
Japanese Beginners: Listening/Speaking - I think I did good in Listening while I reckon I did really great in Speaking especially compared to all my troubles I've had with Speaking in the past.

I had graphic design yesterday and we had to photoshop up a fake movie cover, so I made a cover that consisted of sports bikes starring Tom Cruise. Days of Thunder: Bikes Edition, anyone?

Someone made a pretty awesome fake cover that was about Power Rangers.

Meanwhile, someone else at the class managed to bypass the school's web filter and made a porno cover "starring" Adam Sandler.

Needless to say he got the boot.
