High School

Meanwhile, my shoes are the Kia Optima. Stylish, relatively uncommon, and gets a nice amount of compliments (2 today, 1 yesterday, have had the shoes for 2 days). :dopey:

Since when have Kia Optimas been uncommon :odd:

Can we please not talk about shoes and get on topic

Making posts like that doesn't help.

Anyways... I was getting along great with this girl in Spanish until the teacher moved me. :ouch:

It's only the 4th week of school and I've already had 5 projects. My teachers are insane. At least band isn't as stressful this year.

Says you.

It helped you get on topic

He wasn't even off topic in the first place.

Anyways...

I'm starting to rethink my decision of taking TV & Film Production for the year. While I like the concept of editing videos and being behind the camera, it's...not quite what I expected, you could say. We use Final Cut Pro on iMacs for editing, but the software is just so complex and hard to figure out. I was barely able to be productive in the 1 hour class period today because I spent the better half of it figuring out how to get the Chromakeyer to work right and actually Chromakey the photos for the video, and I still can't figure out where to modify the picture's motion across the screen in the Chromakeyer, which is basically preventing my project from progressing. Luckily, the teacher throws a couple projects at us at a time, so I don't have to work on that one yet. But yet I do, because the other project is a news story, and I'm still waiting to get access to the green screen for 5 minutes to film my story. So basically, thanks to Final Cut Pro being too advanced for me, I'm barely getting anything done at the moment, and that sucks. Gah.

I finally get to start doing something in auto tech tomorrow. :D I think the first thing we learn is how to put a car up on a lift. It's literally been about a week of just going over papers we needed filled out and safety stuff. So it's nice to finally get to actually do something.

What instrument do you play? Are you in marching band? I've probably asked before but my memory sucks.

I think school will go better than I expected.

My workload so far has been putting weights on my shoulders, like my Gov't teacher assigning homework via textbook when we could do it as a class. So far only one project was given (Science Fair) & 3-4 tests/quizzes given, but I'm dreading more as weeks go by. As a bit of motivation though, my Bio teacher said that the program I'm in is very rare to come by even for a top-notch student, so if the work does become a burden - which it will - it doesn't hurt to relax a bit and just improvise. So I thought about being in clubs and that sort of stuff.

Speaking of band, our band director at my school is getting married so that means no band for a week.

I play trumpet. My school doesn't have a marching band, we do pep band. We're only used for 4 basketball games, a football game, and 2 concerts every year though.

Today, I got in a fight with a jock cause he said some things and I said some things, but it really got intense when he commented on my height. He gave the first few blows, but i gave him a knee capper and actually knocked his left front tooth out cause he was messing with my girl. I felt good at first but now I'm gonna go apologize to him tomorrow and see if we can't make up.

Ooh that's gotta hurt. But he deserves it if he messes with your girl or any girl at all. 5"11 and I'm a very tall ninja. You ok though?

Just watched a Volleyball game, we won. The best part? Being the only one in the gym cheering. I think it's really a bummer that no one but the parents goes to watch them play.

Or maybe one of my better friends is on the team, and I feel the need to go to all of them. Whatevs.

Meanwhile, in Sports Med...

Teacher: "Tallman!(me), Peaches! (Girl I sit next to)"
Me: Yo?
Teacher: You and Emily are going to Shasta Orthopedic for the next semester to do your formal internship

YESSSSSSSS. I got partnered with her again. And my other 2 friends to the Post-Game clinic on Saturdays. It's basically a massive party.
I love my classes.

He deserved it most likely. If someone knocked my front tooth out I would not be able to take apologies. But yeah. Those jocks. They underestimate me. When I get serious they shut down when I say I'll kick their asses then they want to buff up. It's just a little mental game they play even though I'd walk through them.. I guess that's a good thing though.

Same instrument high five *slaps computer screen*

I need some advice here guys! I've known this one girl for around a couple of years. We would talk rarely and we got along well. In the last two weeks we've went from barely talking to walking up to each other in the hallway and having conversation or high fiving each other, not giving a damn that everyone walking by thinks we're nuts. Usually I'm nervous around girls but not around her, she's fun, she looks good and she has a personality that is great. Should I make a move and ask her out? I feel that I should, and I really want to, but I unsure if it would be a good move.

My advice is: You're in the wrong thread. I think the Relationship thread would be much more suited for your question as there are more experienced members located there. :)

I often know nothing of what I'm talking about when i talk about girls, but, I have some experience here. There are girls I'm not nervous and around, and it's because we just have those personalities that work together. You'd think that would makes a good couple right? Well I've never believed the statement "opposites attract" to be more true until last year when this same thing happened to me. We instantly became friends but dating just wouldn't work.

I'd say don't ask her out, it may ruin a good friendship. Would you rather be single and have a friend, or be single and not have a friend (assuming she doesn't like you that way, because it sounds a lot like my situation and you are in the friend zone)? Then again, I probably don't have good advice, so don't take my advice unless someone agrees.

I think that thread would help but this thread is also for teenage life and what happens at school. High school relationships are usually quite different than adult relationships I'd have to imagine.
