High School

Had to teach the new kids how to balance and mount tires, use the torque wrench and why not to go all NASCAR when taking tires off cars. 15 people took 2 1/2 hours.

What?!?!?!?! It would take me about half an hour with a torque wrench

No we did 3 activities and we had to go through the process of doing them. I don't care though, I got a boatload of extra credit for teaching. Like I said, I taught them how to balance a tire, mount a tire, how to take a wheel off a car and how to use the torque wrench. And I touched up on operating the lifts again after teaching them yesterday.

Ooh that explains it.

Yeah I was like, ok when you take a tire off don't try to take it off and put it back on in 10 seconds, you'll destroy the studs and they were all like "ooooohhhhh". Lol. It was soooo funny putting kids on the spot. ALl they're faces went beat red and they were so nervous. I was like guys chill I was in your shoes last year XD

Only do it if you have a Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the center lock lug nuts

Today I handed out papers to people in the hallway that said "Its a WALKway, not a standway".

Please come to my school and hand these out.
Every single day, 3rd period, I'm walking to PE, and I get into the hallway to the locker room, and I'm always greeted with a smattering of kids (usually girls) standing in a way that they're still in a group, but they're somehow taking up the width of the hallway. What makes this especially frustrating is when you go to the little gap in the corner and the kid doesn't even seem to acknowledge it and move over. Dumbasses. :dunce:

Sounds like you all need to relax about hallways.

And walk with some confidence so people will get out of your way...

I'm 6'4", 250 lbs, and walk standing straight up. I have plenty of confidence. It's the fact that people choose to take their social hour in the hall on the way to my next class that irritates me. And then they get offended when you either
A. Shove through
or
B. say "Excuse me"

Usually I'm pretty good about making a path through people, but these kids are pretty tightly packed in this big huddle every day. :ouch:

This is fairly accurate training for the rest of your life. I'd learn to deal with it :P

I don't need to worry much about hallways at my school, our school is more open plan and is basically a lot of buildings with classroom entrances from outside.

On a different note, next week's my last week of school forever! I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that yet.

Yer that's a problem for me to, I'm 6'0 and 13 1/2 stone and a lot of the time you get people in lower years (technically everyone's a lower year than me now :D) running into you, now unfortunately for them I'm virtually a brick wall so there are many incidents of them sprinting straight into me and being put on their derrière... I also get the blame for that :irked:

Yesterday I had no idea as to what I was going to make in manufacturing, now I have 5 projects lined up.

Inverse pedals mount for my G25 cockpit.
Heel/toe kit for the G25.
Steering hub so I can put a kart wheel on it.
3 stands for triple moniters.
And a Rainbow Dash cutie mark out of steel and painted so I can hang it from the back of the car. :D

You sound like a teacher.:P

And as for people getting annoyed, sod them, I've been pissing off people for a good 4 years since I joined and I'm not universally hated.:sly:

They removed the lockers at my school so we'd have more room in the hallways. Feels more like a hospital hallway now. With insane kids added, too. So... maybe a mental hospital hallway. The lockers were all ruined anyway. Hardly any of them locked or had locks because they'd been smashed in.

The school library also only consists of fiction books now. For some reason they removed all the non-fiction books.

Is the Bible in there? That's a good fiction book

I disliked the way we were taught to lift a car up via lifts today. We were in groups of 5, I like the people in my group but after about 2 hours the oldest kid had to go. He was the one who knew the most and was kind of taking charge, we all got to actually do something at that time. But later, some girl came into our group who pretty much just did everything. It was pissing me off, I just stood at the side towards the end. Not to mention I also bashed my shoulder up against a lift post, didn't feel pleasant.

It's really easy to lift a car. But don't do like me and walk into the car tire or lift arm and hit your head lol

I always do that at work. :P But what I got out of it was that you have to put the lift pads on the frame as far apart as they can possibly go.

Not always. Generally you start out with the small arms facing 90 degrees from the posts and the long ones about 45. Adjust them so the front and rear won't tip, you can test this by lifting it about 5-6 inches and gently shaking the car. Adjust the pads and raise those so they don't hit running boards etc. Locate proper lift points like pinch welds and control arms etc.

For everything we lifted it was practically the same. We have to print out info from a program that shows the lift points also so as long as you can figure the diagram out it's no problem.
