High School

He's from Australia, so his summer is about to begin.

Well, yes and no. It's only just started spring here. Our HSC (final exams before you leave high school forever) occurs during Term 4 (October-November), but we'll only go into school if we have an exam on starting from the end of next week.

Is the Bible in there? That's a good fiction book

👍

Interestingly enough (not really), the usual huddle of kids taking up the hallway to the locker rooms was much smaller today, so I was able to pass by without any awkwardness. Yay!

English exams tomorrow :scared:

Good thing I play so many video games, those just teach me better than school does.

You can learn about racing in GT5 which is useful...if you're in a school that teaches racing

Now that the second week of school has finished and I've had the weekend to let it all settle in and I've had time to think, I really don't think this year will be that bad. Of course, there are still a few things that haven't quite started yet. We've just been doing basical things in chemistry and German, so I'm sure those classes will get a little harder. Otherwise, I think I'll have plenty of time to have fun, and I won't always be stressed.

Well this week I only have 3 days of school and 1 of them aren't really counted as school. Spirit day

Interesting. I have tomorrow off because it's Rosh Hashanah, and my district always gives the day off to everyone. But next week I only go Monday and Tuesday, and the rest of the days I have off, as a "Fall Recess".

I feel I have an interesting week ahead of me. Tomorrow is the first day of my placement in an office to do my co-operative education. 8-11am in an office, Monday to Friday, I'll shall learn a lot. My supervisor said and I quote "Everything you learned about accounting in a textbook? Forget about it. We'll be starting you from the ground up, so you'll understand how you get from this to the end result, which are the financial reports". Also, the girl I liked and had pizza with came up to me on the end of Friday and said we're just friends. At first I was kind of upset, because I never handle rejection that well, but when I started thinking about it, I have a friend that I can be my wacky insane self around, who will talk to me and give me advice, and treats me with respect. So I felt happy after that actually. However I checked her twitter and she's been retweeting depressing sounding stuff all weekend, which leaves me in an odd situation.: Now I do know she is just a friend, and I want to help her feel better, but another part of me wants to just let her suffer. Anyway, best of luck to all the high school gtpers this week, may we all have a good week. -Alex

One of the reasons why I love religion haha

Rant time:
I am in my last year of high school, I have some privileges and it's all cool. Thing is it's not as easy as people said it would be, especially since I am in AP calculus and chemistry. That is not the problem though, the problem is that I feel extremely bored and not motivated at all, I like high school but since I started 12th grade I've sort of wanted it to end so I can go on to University and change my life up, do more of what I want and feel more like I am working towards what I want. Any advice on how to get out of this state of boredom and indifference I currently have?
End of rant.

What Slash said. And the only known cure is a phenomenon known as 'Graduation'.💡

I had a test in auto tech today which involve us having to lift a car up. Of course I got the hardest car to put on a lift, the Saturn Vue.

That car is as easy as any other car to lift lol. I got stuck teaching Juniors again lol. That's ok, the class got 3 cookies each after we left the shop and I got 4 for helping XD

I had my first proper Life Skills class today. All we did was learn about politics. Bleh.

I'm going on a trip on Wednesday to an art gallery in Liverpool, so I'll miss out on my double History, which isn't the best subject I wanted to miss out on... :ouch:

^ Life Skills here means modified subjects for kids with learning difficulties/special needs.

What does everyone else learn in history? Some of the stuff I learned about was the French Revolution, the assassination of JFK, WWI, the rise to power of Hitler; it was all the real juicy stuff :D

Not the juicy stuff

AS we did Poverty and Public Health in the 19th century, though did follow that with both Italian and German Unification :D

This year (A2) coursework is the analysis of reform in 19th to early 20th century with relation to the election system, which is thoroughly depressing. Though we do the Cold War for the rest of the year after October, which I am looking forward too.

Unlucky, life skills made me want to just put my head through the wall most "lessons", if they can be called that.

Thoroughly depressing ? Seems pretty interesting so far at As level and more importantly, pretty easy. I've found History to be a sort of recovery period. My brain feels like jelly immediately after physics and maths. There were 5 students in physics today, says it all really.

We've just finished our course on Saltaire and now starting Nazi Germany again, but includes more about the time of the Weimar Republic.

Just looked at my most recent Quiz/Test scores online (Anyone else able to do this?)

AP English- 50/50
AP US Government- 100/100
Sports Medicine- 49/50
Integrated Math 2- 2/10

That sums up my life, really.

My school has Edline that lets me check on how I'm doing.

Well... The diagram I had wasn't very clear, I looked at where it was supposed to go and thought, no that can't be it...

I do it without a diagram lol. Just put the lifts arms on the pinch welds and control arms. There are a few other spots though.

I got the front ones no problem but it was the back ones that were a pain. I had them set on the frame and I can't remember what the back lifting points were, they were up and to the left/right of the differential. Two small lifting points which were all bent to hell which is why I didn't think I should lift then from there.

For my GCSE's did Nazi Germany, civil rights in the USA, Vietnam war and Soviet Russia.

For my AS I did. British politics 1918 to 1951 and Nazi and post war Germany 33 to 63.

For my A2. Coursework is on reasons for the national prohibition in America (Got another piece of coursework which I am not 100% sure what it is on at the moment I shall ask on thursday when my next history lesson is.)
A2 exam in the summer we will do Civil rights again.

But it is not repeating what you have already learned as I found with Nazi Germany. Almost all the stuff we did was not covered at GCSE.

It is pretty easy, but boring, bits of history are good though. It is nice, I have Maths Physics and History now, so yep, I get the jelly feeling too  Physics is just hard, no getting around it really
