Finally, Hitman 5 has officially announced as Hitman Absolution and a Teaser trailer has been released

Nothing revealing but for Hitman fans (if there is any here) it has been a long wait since Hitman Blood Money and is great to have it official. Notice the barcode at the end goes red and seems to indicate E3, I look forward to it and will update.

This one is very high on my wish list. 👍 I played all the other Hitman games as well, and I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Fall/Winter will be busy. :D

E3 trailer (Warning: contains violence and is rated 18+ PEGI :D) :

Hmm, hope all the action isn't that frantic. Hitman was always about a slow, methodical approach for me - great pride in making it look like an accident, only killing the target and not being seen.

👍

While I can't wait for the game, I'm hoping this trailer is being overdramatic. My hopes aren't too high after reading reviews for Kane and Lynch 1 + 2.

Edit:

Jay, those screenshots look really good. They hadn't loaded properly first time, but now I'm seeing them, my anticipation is ramping up.

Same, it was a concern of mine that they have stepped up the action too much but recent interviews helped clear that up a bit

For the moment my biggest concern is apparently David Bateson the Agent 47voice actor (and Agent 47 look-a-like pretty much) is not being used for Hitman Absolution at all and when fans from a Hitman forum contacted him about the rumour this was his response:

‘The absolute truth is: no one from IO Interactive is answering my calls, e-mails or sms. Feeling very let down at the moment but I haven’t heard personally.’

Looks like we will have a new voice actor :indiff:

Damn. Hopefully not Timothy Oliphant

If they really think that's what the fans want, I don't have much hope for the game. I hope they prove me wrong, but I find it difficult to understand why.

Full 17 minute demo from E3

Looks great except the his voice late in the video.

Looks like i'll be giving this a miss if that gameplay video is anything to go by. Another great series seemingly ruined.

what was wrong with the trailer ? it may not reperesent all of the gamplay elements what was it you didint like?

This looks amazing :D

Hitman games have always been favourites of mine.

Not to keen on all the red line stuff but I guess you don't need to use it.

Hopefully there is more "professional" ways of doing that mission.

Taking a hostage and going out in a fire fight was never my style :)

All-out war is not my idea of how a hitman operates. The beginning was great, but there was too much killing going on for me. Not liking the red line thing either.

Obviously you could approach the mission differently, but i'm concerned that the game will be pumped up with killing sprees to attract more sales.

I understand your concern but I think we need to sit back and wait a little more I though I wanst gonna like the way Metal gear 4 turned out but to be honest it was great I like haveing options to be stealthy or unrealistically baddass. But I do understand where your coming from hopefully the developers get it right

According to an interview I read in PSM3, there are many ways to tackle that mission. You can play through it in traditional Hitman fashion. And Silent Assassin is still the highest rank.

Hoping it turns out well. Would prefer that red line thing to just disappear altogether. Or, alternatively, not be available on higher difficulty levels.

Yeah, I like the look of this. I've played all of the Hitman games so far and I think Silent Assassin was my favourite, but Blood Money wasn't far off... I used to enjoy trying to kill everyone as much as I did trying to kill just the target, so I hope this game really does let you play it either way and never forces you to do one or the other. I also hope you never HAVE to use that X-ray vision thing. Although I'm all for games compensating for the lack of senses you'd otherwise have in real life, like the sound ring thing in MGS4, being able to see through walls is a bit cheaty. Then again, the old ones had maps, so maybe I should just stop typing.

Excited.

I saw this trailer last night on IGN and was going to post it then it was youtubed, thanks for doing that for me.

The trailer is the best so fan and answers most uncertainties I had of Absolution. Absolution is really looking to be the best Hitman yet and I look forward to it. With the amount of content they're showing lately the release can't be too far away, I just wish we knew when, but I suppose that will be known at E3.

Hitman: Absolution release date Novemeber 20th 2012 on all PC, PS3 & X360

Barcode Society
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we first announced Hitman: Absolution. A lot of stuff has been going on in the past year - from sharing the first gameplay at E3 2011 and releasing the full 16 minutes for everyone to see afterwards to showing off the gorgeous orphanage level, launching the Barcode Society, revealing the fate of 47’s long-time handler Diana, showing off new features like Instinct and introducing exciting new gameplay series of videos called ‘Introducing’, we can safely say the fans have been with us through quite a ride thus far.

And so, on this anniversary of sorts, we find it fitting to announce not one but two great things. One is the release date of Hitman: Absolution. We know you’ve been waiting for this for some time now and it’s with great pleasure we can let everyone know that November 20th is the day that needs to get a big, fat circle around it in your calendars.

Now, the second announcement, which you may have already seen some chatter about online, is the pre-order bonus that we’re releasing on May 15th – in just five days. This is the Hitman: Sniper Challenge, a way for us to say ‘thanks and we love you’ to all the dedicated fans who have been waiting these last few years for a new Hitman experience. The team has been hard at work to create a great game for the Hitman fans and we’ve tried out many different things in the process. One of those things was an early prototype for sniper gameplay. It started out as two grey boxes with 47 on top of one and a target way off in the distance on the other. A few more items were added to shake things up a little and the thing was shared internally to see if it worked or not. It didn’t take long for the code to go viral across all of IO Interactive. Leaderboards were built, people started spending more and more time on it and we realized that this was something awesome. So we decided to expand upon it and make it in to a gift to everyone out there. A few of the guys rounded up some internal resources and started building the level out as a bonus to the fans that had been waiting for so long already.

So, here’s how it works. The Hitman: Sniper Challenge is a stand-alone hit, only available for Hitman: Absolution pre-orders. As the original assassin, you’ll unpack your Agency Kazo TRG sniper rifle, scope out the penthouse balcony of one Mr. Richard Strong Jr., CEO of Stallion Armaments and soon-to-be dead guy. And the great thing is – you get to play it immediately upon pre-order! Take out Mr. Strong Jr. and his entire staff of bodyguards, score big on the leaderboards and unlock equipment upgrades and carry it over to Hitman: Absolution when the game comes out on November 20th. All you need to do is pre-order the game with one or more selected retailers in your country, get the redeem code, boot up your PS3 or Xbox360 and grab the Sniper Challenge from May 15th and on. That’s it. That should have you covered. Now please enjoy the announcement video for even more greatness. Please note that this is the US version of the trailer where Gamestop has this outstanding pre-order exclusively.

Now, you may have noticed that we didn’t mention PC up there. It’s not because we hate PC, in fact 47 made his debut on PC and IO have always loved the PC-based fans we have. We’re building a PC version that’s not a port from the other versions and adding liberal amounts of PC-only features in there but that also takes some time to get right. Sometime after E3, we will reveal a lot more about the PC version of the game, which incidentally is also set to go out on November 20th as well, so no delays there. So for that reason, we’re looking to bring Sniper Challenge to PC through Steam on August 1st to allow it to truly shine.

We truly hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we have. And don’t forget – November 20th is the day of Absolution.

Bunch of small "news" articles and pics but more meaty news will come at E3 which is only a week or two away.

So if I still pre-order next month will I have the sniper challenge ability??

Damn this game looks epic, been playing since the second hitman.

New E3 Hitman Absolution trailer just released

I am not sure what to think about it...

Well, that was a bit different.

Also, they seemed to make it almost, but not quite, lifelike. However, not sure if they've used bloom or not.

And it's not really a Hitman style, unless this was just part of a story during the game.

I think it was just for flash and buzzz about the game I like the details of the scars hitman has on his bakc makes sense. cant wait for the game just started playing the sniper challange
