You can't order that bushing on its own in order to replace it?
Well, I probably could from Honda itself, but numerous searches on google came up with many forums saying "energy suspension shifter bushings will solve the loose shifter problem" so I went ahead and ordered it. Once I get past the initial slop of the worn shift linkage, it is a bit stiffer and I can feel the transmission better, but I still have that

No worries though, I will make one out of brass tommorow.

Well, I couldn't make on out of brass, it was completely different than what I thought it was. It has like little rubber brands around it that keep it tight, and they were worn out, and some were missing. I drove around and couldn't find replacements, so I wrapped the thing in electric tape, until I either find some replacements or replace the whole part.

It worked, but who knows for how long.

What was once a plan of attack to clean my car, is now a flight to Nebraska for a funeral. :( My grandmother passed away Wednesday evening. I only wish I could have flown out last night, like my mother and sister did. :(

Oh man, sorry to hear. I don't know the pain of losing a Grandma, but when I lost my Grandpa my life was turned upside down. Don't dwell on the "should have"s, but think of the good times the two of you had instead, I'm sure she would have wanted it that way. My thoughts are with you, hope to see you back here soon man.

Does anybody know where to get some cheap transaxles for my Prelude? And what about I should pay? Oh, and I need the front calipers too--cheap ones as I don't care about performance just yet.

I'd say hit the local junkyard. There isn't really a place where you could find "cheap" calipers, unless they are stock, and in that case a junkyard is your best bet. You should find out if your brakes are the same as say, an Acura Legend's. That will probably be cheaper than getting them off a Prelude.

Unless you meant brake pads, then check autozone.

Locally an O'Reillys has calipers new for $73 a piece w/pads. That's not a bad deal, especially since they have a lifetime warranty. The Transaxles are $45 a piece new at the same place--which also is a good price and comes with a lifetime warranty. I should of called that place first before posting. However, the master cylinder is $179 new and $140 remanufacturered--both with lifetime warranties. I'll just nab one off of ebay for $50 + s&h.

What I'd really like to know is where I can get the lug offsets and sizes to see what other Honda/Acura cars share the same lug pattern so I can nab some better looking rims. I'd LIKE to use the TSX or TL rims...but I'm pretty sure you can't use 'em on the stock Prelude config. Does anyone here know where I can get this info?

Here is some stock wheel sizes with lug patterns for Hondas.

And Here is some Acura ones.

Offset won't matter that much as long as it's +35 or up (mine are +35 on my civic, if I went any lower I would have rubbing issues). Stock honda wheels are usually around +43, along with most front wheel drive cars.

EDIT: TSX wheels aren't listed there, but a quick google search says 17x7. Lug pattern is 5x114.3

AWSOME! Thanks for the links. Looks like the RSX, TL Type-S, NSX (rear), newer Civic Si, and the TSX are all going to fit. Now, I just have to figure out which of these I like the best. And that's the fun part. ;)

I think the TL Type-S wheels would be fab. The dark grey would look mean. Either those or the facelifted RSX rims.

"3KGT"<---- Try JDM Accord Euro-R Rims, I can get them for alot less than Honda will sell them to you..

Got any pics of those? And or how much it would cost me to have them shipped to USA zipcode 75067? :sly:

Those TL Type-S rims are gunmetal are they not? If so, that's exactly what I'm looking for--plus anything associated with the TL is just brilliant. That's the second best thing Honda has ever made. If only it was AWD... What do the facelifted RSX rims look like?

I'm just referring to the body style facelift of the RSX. With that facelift (they're all still DC5s) came bigger (17) and wider wheels. Before the RSX S had 16s.

Both are really nice, but I don't think they'd have enough contrast with your silver paint. I think they look awful on that silver RSX. The wheels you have now have a painted and polished finish, right? I think you need that contrast. Monochromatic FTL on your car.

@Sp33 - Been doing some mudding again?

@Thirdeye - Nice vid, although you should clean up the trunk so non of that stuff goes flying into your subs while your driving around. Nothings worse than popping a hole in your sub on something that doesn't even belong in there.

Well, my friend with the '98 Integra GS-R finally got some money together and started ordering some parts for his car. So far he's recieved a set of Skunk2 stage 3 cams, Skunk2 titanium retainers and springs, and some Skunk2 adjustable cam gears. He's hoping to bring his redline up to around 10,000 rpm (which I'm sure he'll be able to with those parts) but doesn't the B18C5 (or B18C1, whichever isn't the Type-R engine) need some bottom end work done aswell to do it safely?
Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated...

He'll definitely want some sort of lower end beefing in the B18C1, to maintain 10,000 rpm's. My suggestion would be in the form of forged rods, and a crankshaft girder (if he can find one, Spoon Sports had one a while back).

Okay, strengthening aside, wouldn't he need to improve the airflow to make any power at that high an RPM? I'm guessing the stock intake and exhaust manifolds would be pretty restrictive that high. Heck, my powerband starts to drop off a few hundred RPM below 8000.

Your intake and exhaust manifolds really don't play much in the department of flow restriction. They have an impact, but nearly as much as a set of high-lift cams. You can look at Spoon's B18C5 for reference, and see that they used the Type-R exhaust manifold and a rather OEM-similar intake system.

Question for you American market Honda owners in here.

When you drive normally and obey all the traffic laws do you either get harrassed by young people in V8 coupes and or harrased by ricers in their import econoboxes?

I'm sick and tired of minding my own business obeying all the traffic laws--which includes the speed limit--and have either some stupid teenager or early 20's in their V8 muscle car (Camaro/Mustang/etc) or some idiot teenager or early 20's in their Japanese econobox ricer car trying to race me. I usually tell them if their windows are down what I think of them--which usually includes the phrase "go **** yourself". They don't get the message--if I didn't race you the previous 15 redlights what makes you think I'm going to race you on the 16th?

I also get this in my Camaro--but easily not nearly as much as when I had my 200SX SE-R, 3000GT VR4, and this Prelude.

Thoughts?

I'm sick and tired of minding my own business obeying all the traffic laws--which includes the speed limit--and have either some stupid teenager or "tween" in their V8 muscle car (Camaro/Mustang/etc) or some idiot teenager or "tween" in their Japanese econobox ricer car trying to race me. I usually tell them if their windows are down what I think of them--which usually includes the phrase "go **** yourself". They don't get the message--if I didn't race you the previous 15 redlights what makes you think I'm going to race you on the 16th?

I give no attention to other drivers, when driving, except to make sure I'm not cutting them off or performing illegal traffic motions. If you're looking at their cars, you're giving them attention. Just ignore their cars completely, and you'll see a huge decrease in the common teenage street racing hard-on's, that are out there.

What's a 'tween'?

I already have him looking for new rods (he's having his engine torn down to replace his piston rings, so it will be apart anyways) but i'll be sure to point him in the direction that you mentioned. His plans are to add a turbo by next year, although thats all the information I know of this plan, so I'm going to assume he'll need all the reinforcing he can get. :indiff:

@JCE3000GT - You don't know how many times I'm sitting a light waiting for it to turn green and just as it does I hear tires screeching and the dumby beside me peeling out and taking off like we're racing for slips. I've seen it all from duelly pick-ups to station wagons, but I just continue on the same way I was, minding my own business. Half the time I already know I'm faster, so whats there to prove? Other times I just know its not worth it, and I'd rather keep my record clean (finally after 3 years) as the low insurance rates beats any street race win any day. 👍
