I'll go back and take a peek at those pics. I'm not happy about having to give it up, as I've grown a deeper affinity for the Prelude now that I've owned one. They're far better than I could of ever imagined. And they solidify my opinion that they are the best thing Honda has ever made.

The prelude is indeed one of the better Honda products, although I'd argue that the S2K is better. But for the price, the prelude was the best car IMO. If I had a choice I would've had one of those instead of my Integra. Is it just me or do you think the Prelude should've been an Acura rather than the Integra?

I think "luxury" nameplates should of never been done for the Japanese manufacturers. "Honda Integra" sounds much better than "Acura Integra".

But yes, the Prelude seems to feel "nicer" all around versus the Integra/RSX. All it needed was a slightly better radio and some nicer wheels for the base model and it would of easily been a good "Acura" model for sure. Too bad the Prelude never got a 6spd manual--it would of been perfect in every way if it did.

Just curious, have you driven an S2000 or an NSX?

Yes on both. I feel for the money you pay the Prelude was the overall best thing you could buy in the Honda lineup. The NSX was always way overpriced, and I didn't like the fact that it was hideously unconfortable for me to drive because I barely fit. I don't like having the steering wheel rest on on knees and my head touching the top. Its a good car, just only if you can fit into it.

*edit*
Let me say this about the NSX, it makes a FANTASTIC second-hand car. The money you can buy one now for is well worth it. I would if I had the money.

Well, unfortunately due to a change in my employment and a leaking clutch master cylinder I chose to give the Prelude back to the guy I'm buying it from. I just can't afford to get all this stuff fixed. So I'm going to save my money up for fixing the Camaro and possibly buying another 5th gen Prelude in the future.
Did you get the money back you already paid on it?

No. I consider it a "renting" fee for being able to drive it. I'm not going to be an ass about it. I DID use the car afterall.

The guy who you bought it from will get it back in better shape and cooler than it was when he got it. But it still sucks that you had to give it back 👎👍

Anyone know where I can get extended seat rails or something for a Honda Fit? I might trade in the Hyundai accent for one.

Why do you need extended seat rails? Are you really that massive? The Fit has tons of interior room and you still can't fit!??!

Please tell me that our Civic does have an independent rear suspension...

My old Cavalier with a torsion beam had the same shock and spring layout. I think even Matt's car has a coilover spring and shock setup in back. Why would they get rid of that and separate the two?

The driver's seat only goes as far back as the back seat will fold forward. I can fit in the fit, but I just need those extra few inches to be mega comfortable.

Only 999 left, and I'm sure at least 1/4 of them will get this at one point or another.

*runs off and cries*

And Americans wonder why they dont get nice things.

Seriously, crap like this ticks me off. (stupid swear filter, lol)
Even though no one owned it (I'm sure the dealer has insurance for this sort of thing, where as someone who owns it would be robbed plus have to pay higher rates) its pretty lame to think that people will go that far for those sorts of things. 👎

There's a Mugen Si at Wilde Honda in Waukesha, and I went there to check it out. I hate to say it, but the car absolutely bores me to death. It's about as interesting as a box of lint to me. :indiff:

That, and the S2000 CR... wow, ugly much? :yuck:

Well, that really is just a matter of opinion, but I'm just pointing out that one of them is gone before it was even sold, and to theives, not just some bad driver with more money than brains.

Of course, Mugen (or the dealer) is partly at fault for not installing wheel locks at least. And a car as rare as that shouldn't be sitting outside in the lot.

It was in reference to the pictures of the Mugen's rear suspension which scarily resemble my old Cavalier's torsion beam rear axle. The Euro Civic has a torsion beam, also. But I'm positive our car has an independent rear, so now I'm just curious why they didn't carry over the coilover design from Matt's generation, along with everything back to EFs like yours.

Our suspension layouts were are pretty good, but they were designed to be cheap and perform decently.

Take the trueno/corolla for example, it has the same kind of spring/strut setup, but it handles way better than our civics could.

I hope it doesn't have a (forget the term for basically a metal rod from one wheel to another. I think this is what you were referring to anyways.

Yeah thats torsion beam. And our civics had independent rear sussy. I thought it was a sedan thing.. But seems that somehow the US specs fit a torsion beam under there?

Keef, after actually looking at the pic i dont think its a torsion beam, but more a multi link setup.
Yeah, I asked my tech buddy and he told me the American sedans and coupes now have front McPherson struts and rear multilink setups. I'm forgetting everything I already knew about the cars. Also I'm still puzzled why Honda went with a torsion beam for the Euro hatch. It's mind boggling, really.
