Yeah. I don't know how long it's going to take me to find a car. We get our rental for a maximum of 45 days I guess, so I hope the other person's insurance companies (personal insurance and business insurance) keep bickering amongst themselves for most of that period. Hopefully they time it just right so I don't have to be without a car during winter.

I've emailed a business in Georgia a few times about an EH6 with a B16 and YS1 swap, and I've even asked a local Honda specialty shop to keep an eye out for EG2s for sale. Sure, an Si with all the swapped parts (I'd have to drive it to make sure the steering ratio is the same, because I don't feel like swapping a steering rack) would be great, but I want an EG2. Just because.

Oh, and screw a rear disc conversion. I'm not working my ass off just to get a car to where mine was before I put my parts on it! God damn it, I'm going to have to buy all that crap AGAIN, unless I get one like that EH6 which already has that stuff on it. That thought pisses me off. It'll be like ****ing de ja vu, and will be making no progress at all. Just pissing away money in order to get where I've already been. I'll probably wreck it, too.

That's pretty much what I wanted to do with my Sol. Now I'll have to try with another one.

I have super mixed feelings on Corbeau. Their seats look great, and I've seen them on so many cars.

But they are so cheap, and you always get what you pay for, and their gallery on the site is full of show cars and off road trucks and stuff.

So are they good or do they suck?

Well, thank goodness I had to take the intake manifold off, just to get the thermostat out. :grumpy: Oh, and I fried yet another primary oxygen sensor yesterday, thanks to the car mysteriously overheating. :grumpy:

They do very much.

I went to Sandy's lot today and got all my personal stuff out of my car, including my Dragon Slayer license plate bracket. I also found out that carbon fiber is really tough stuff. It survived the crash and the being squished alright, though it was scratched up pretty good. But I was not allowed to take anything "attached" off of my car. So I destroyed the intake to insure nobody else uses it. I had to take out some anger.

The engine mounts were in one piece but the mounting points were all mangled. I'm positive the mount took a part of my block with it when it twisted since the bolts and steel mount are many times stronger than the aluminum block.

Ouch. Those are the joys of working on a car with an engine swap though I guess.

I've actually thought about getting another 'lude, especially with the price of 5th gens going down lately. Theres a white 2001 'lude Type SH for sale around here that I was drooling over, which is exactly the car that I wanted before I found my G35. I'd go test drive it, but I'm afraid I'd be stopping by the bank on the test drive. :scared:

There's a '94 Sol with a B20/VTEC for sale in Cincinnatti for $6,500. It's got big 17 inch white rims (which would require a wheel and tire purchase), a red body and flat black hood (which, eh, iono), and spoiler that looks massive and carbon fiber, redpainted side sills (which I don't like), and the stupid bug eye front bumper which I dread. It's got I/H/E, VTEC controller, rear disc conversion, yada yada yada.

I'm going to have to kick my ass when I have to buy...a hood. Or a bumper. WTF? Sure, the car already has all the go-fast parts I'd put on it, so that means I'll be stuck fixing stupid crap that some half-ricer did to the car. Plus, I seriously doubt I'll even have the money to buy the thing, which means afterwards I'll have no money at all to fix this stupid stuff. And I'd have to roll through winter on 28s.

So do you guys thing I'm just bitching or is the car worth that money? Is it worth spending every dime I have on something that I don't really want?

Btw, The B20 has dynoed at 210hp. Another in Georgia I'm looking at has more "proper" mods, like a swapped B16 rebuilt with CTR pistons and the YS1 tranny. That one is a $1,000 dollars less, but the interior need a lot of fixing. New driver seat and both door panels. The chassis has 206,000 miles on it, too, but the engine is pretty new and the tranny has 90,000, which is acceptable.

It's also got a Skunk2 intake manifold and stage 1 cams available, which were replaced with stock parts during the build.

B20

B16

EDIT: The B20 car's AutoTrader accont shows that it has a black hood and white trunk and license plate surround. WTF? I'm not paying for a paitn job. Screw that.

Whats the specs on the new engine?

D14Z6
- Found on the 2001-2005 EDM Honda Civic 1.4i E/S/SE 3dr&5dr
- Displacement: 1396 cc
- Power: 90 HP
- Torque: 96 lb*ft (130 N*m) @ 4300 rpm
- Bore x Stroke: 75 mm x 79 mm

It doesnt say but I think its an SOHC:grumpy:
Just for fun:rolleyes:, Ill compare it to the engine in my Almera

GA14DE
- Displacement: 1392 cc 16V DOHC engine.
- Power: 88.5 HP @ 6000 RPM
- Torque: 85.5 lb*ft (116 N*m) @ 4000 rpm
- Bore x Stroke 73.6mm x 81.8mm

Their quite similar, the Civic definately is faster but the Almera still felt faster. All the power of the Civic feels right at the high RPM and even though it has more torque it doent feel very responsive at low/mid RPM like the Almera did. Doesnt sound as good as the GA either.
The Civic is great on fuel though which is excellent news:)

Oh dude, that sucks!
I remember when you posted that car - I liked the mods a lot. Real subtle, but really effective.

A shame to see it go... :(
Cheers man:tup:

I was looking through some pics of it today, really miss it now. I wish i could turn back time :(
This pic almost brings a tear to my eye. A pic of it at its best...still had potential :(

I keep thinking things like 'Why did i have to do it wrong and **** the poor car up.'
It never failed me, have loads of great memories of it. Even my friends were upset when I told them. We done so much with it. Its like a mental association with it of good things to the car(if you get what I mean) Whenever we took the car out we always had fun or it was always a pleasant experience.

That saying 'You dont miss it til its gone' is sooo true.

Oh yea ~Sp33~ could you put my name on the list of honda fan club members?

👍

And does anyone know where the cheapest possible place is to get headlights? Or just the plastic part in the rear?

My tabs broke off again and I don't have all the pieces to reglue them.

It's unfair really, I get on the honda forums, and there's all sort of nice, normal looking civics on there. I got a decent deal on a civic, without many dents, decent paint, and I clean it and wax it and do small wire tucks and all sorts of DIY jobs so make it just a little nicer without spending money I don't have. I avoid doing stupid stuff while driving, and I try to be careful.

And then some dumbass driver runs into it after "not seeing it" despite the fact that it was on a tow truck with big flashing yellow lights on it.

I hammer stuff out, glue things together, and buff things out to a decent fit and look, and then another retard hits me in the rear after sitting behind me at a stoplight for about 30sec.

Now I've got a messed up rear bumper, big scrapes on my front bumper from hitting the car in front, and now I need a new rear bumper, bodywork on the front bumper, and a new headlight. The guy wants to pay me cash so he can save on insurance, but he apparently thinks it costs a few hundred bucks to fix.

I would do something about it, but I know insurance is going to rip me off even more because they have magically low prices on body parts.

Seriously, how does everyone else get by without people hitting you all the time? I haven't owned my car for a year.[/rant]

EDIT: I know Keef got it worse, but for me if would be better. If my car was totaled, I would get back at least 2 times what I paid for it.

I would get an eg or ef for extremely cheap from my uncles, and have around 5k to do whatever I want to it.(probably more)

Im lucky that i have never been in an accident, but have witnessed several, i work on a pretty dangerous intersection. Its never nice seeing people clearly trying to squeeze between gaps in traffic, then just getting stuck halfway.

^^^ I was in my nans car, and she reversed into me in a car lot. It would have been avoided if the auto tranny would engage reverse faster.

Well see, the thing is that my car didn't need any "fixes". None. Therefore I find it ridiculous to have to settle for a car that does. I don't give a damn if it has a B20, I didn't ride around in a two-tone car before and I'd better not have to pay $6,500 to cruise a car that looks worse than my old one.
