Ah, coolant flushes. They're always good, messy fun. But I won't be doing one for a while. I don't have my Del Sol anymore.

I love it how an exedy clutch costs around 100 bucks shipped on ebay.

Now if only I could find a flywheel that cheap too.

Its actually difficult to drive smoothly now. The clutch grips fully right as the pedal reaches the end of it's travel, so when shifting, I can't ease on the throttle and ease off the clutch at the same time. I have to press the gas exactly at the same time as I lift my foot off the pedal. Too early and the engine revs a little then grips (think of a ricer speed-shift, but very slow), too late and the shift is jerky because the rpms are still falling. This sounds like a pretty normal shift, but usually you can modulate the pedal a bit, I only have an on/off switch.

It's annoying.

The one that's this Saturday at that park in Illinois? If so, then maybe. It all depends on if these new employees we've got are trained. :(

Plus, I've got to throw the new thermostat in and flush the coolant.

I'll be on the look out for a red em2.

How do people get 400hp from an all-motor engine? Even 200hp.

For example, project car magazine had a car with a b16. After all sorts of bolts on, they only gained 11hp iirc.

What would it take to get a b16 (around 145whp) to 180whp? It seems hard after seeing how little upgrades do.

Without a turbo, I'm never going to turbo a fwd honda.

A person pulled out in front of me because someone was nice and left a gap at the green light. And I just happened to be coming in the other lane. They never made an attempt to slow down or stop, and I tried but couldn't avoid them. Thus, a destroyed Sol. But I kept my badge. And I want another one. Another Sol deserves a fun life of hard driving.

I'd liek to add my own story. I saw sitting at a light today, and when it turned green, I let off my brakes. The dude behind me apparently though I was already driving if my brake lights go on.

He rear ends me, I hit the car in front. I need new bumpers, and now I hjave to reglue my headlight again.

Oh, and it's another redneck from our school. That's 4 crashes from them between my friend and me. I hate people who can't drive.

Can anyone recommend a good Honda Civic forum that contains lots of stuff on the EP model with a good number of UK or EU members?

Also, Can I join the club? I destroyed a Nissan and bought a Honda, is that a good enough initiation?:sly:

@Keef - Ouch. So how bad did the car look when you got out?

@Slick Rick - Good enough for me I guess (even though what I drive is technically a Nissan, so I should hate you). What did you end up getting?

F'ed up, that's what it looked like. But it was a few minutes before I took a look because I had to get on my cousin to stop screaming "Do you know what kind of engine you just ****ed up!?!?!?"

No, they don't. But I wouldn't mind slapping them in the face with a nice, razor-sharp piece of broken carbon fiber intake. Except that the force is strong with this CF, and it's not broken. 👍 Beyond that, I doubt I'll be able to swipe it off my car legally. 👎

Just put the stock parts back on, they wouldn't know if you had it there or not.

EDIT: How bad is the engine though?

I've already said that if I'm ever in an accident, the first thing I'm doing is jumping out and screaming for a 9/16" wrench and 10mm socket, then assess the damage after the parts are removed.

I'm proud of my Sol. It always did everything I told it. Those few parts I put on it made it better than a lot of cars that should have been better than mine. It won a lot of races I didn't think it'd win. It ran neck-a-neck with a brand new Cobalt SS on the Dragon and even beat a tuned Sentra SE-R there. I startled so many people with the exhaust it makes me laugh just thinking about it. And I was the only person in the area that actually used a Del Sol to the max, instead of dawdling around with my pretty hair blowing in the wind.

R.I.P.

I was talking to a couple Honda buddies at the meet earlier and they all thought I should buy the car back from the insurance company. The engine and tranny, really, are worth like $2000. I could easily sell the roof panel for over $100. My intake could be reused. Not to mention the speakers I replaced the stock ones with, which sounded great.

But wouldn't it be novel to put my old roof panel on a new Sol? It's like carrying on the heritage. Who cares what color it is. How sentimental...

Do it dude, it's definantly worth it.

Except I would keep the engine, and put it on a stand, and rebuild it, you know how those super rich people do. Then when they are done they drop it in.

Gotta love the Honda love. I just flash the hat and make a new friend just like that. I was driving my cousin's SS and came across an awesome slammed EM1 leaving UPS. I showed the hat and got a 👍. Now I have to get that job cause I'll be working with him!

Btw, I'm carrying my badge in my pocket with me until I get another car. I spotted the front badge laying on the ground at the scene and picked it up. The tabs are broken off the back of it but besides that it's only got some scratches.

You have a Honda hat?

Awesome, except I look like a farmer in a hat.

Well sure, I've got lots of Honda hats and shirts and keychains and whatnot. Hats for $5 from the dealership's catalogue FTW.

I have a "Powered by Honda" hat I got at a local Honda dealership, a gray Acura hat, Acura T-Shirt, Team-Integra.net T-Shirt and a Pennzoil Platinum hat :D I never get any comments on them though, unfortunately, since I live in a heavily domestic area.

I have a key chain that says "I LOVE MY LUDE", but unfortuantly it hasn't gotten me any love. :guilty:

The rear emblem from my Prelude still sits on my mirror at my parents place too, and I'm pretty sure the spark plug wire cover is still sitting on my desk in my old room. Maybe one day I'll bring myself to throw them out or something.
