Honda NSX no more... plus 5-6 pages on various industry-related topic

NSX... a mid-engine car from Japan... we always need more :(

With its demise and the end of the MR2... can anyone think of an MR car making it to US soil from Japan thats new?

I don't care for the design of the car, but sounds interesting from what I've read.

i cant wait for the next one, i love the NSX and if the HSC is the next one then dam im loooking forward to it.

The NSX is gone, the HSC is coming so why worry?
Isn't that kinda like saying:

"So they're not building classic Mini's anymore, that's OK BMW are making a new Mini."

or

"So they're not making the traditional Beetle anymore, that's OK 'cos they're making a New Beetle to take it's place."

While there is a replacement, it's just not the same now is it - and a sequel's never as good as the original... :)

If im not mistakin that car in the link is an Acura RL, or the Honda legend fopr the rest of us, arent they AWD?.. hmm a v8 AWD.. not bad .

The Mugen Legend is RWD.

Wow thats very low volume. But ya its time for something different, I never really saw the fasination with them anyways. They weren't all the fast for there price. Hell if I wanted MR and fast I would just buy an Elise and call it a day.

In the US? Yes. Over 210 of them have been sold in the states in 04.

You might as well have said 'no' - that means they're unloading a stunning 18-20 per month. It's a wonder this thing wasn't cancelled in about 1998.

As much as I love the NSX, Honda did run the production too long.

Blazin: I agree. For just about half the price, you could get a Lotus Elise. Don't they have Toyota Celica powertrain? Reliability of Toyota on a Lotus sports car. Sounds like a dream come true. :)

People around here take their Lotuses to the local exotic dealer - I wonder if the local Toyota dealer could fix mechanical issues that arise?

I know people with Mazda pickup sometimes goes to Ford dealer for parts. It would be so cool, if you can get dirt cheap(compared to Lotus) Toyota mechanical parts to maintain and fix your Elise. :D

Would be interesting to find out. However, Lotus did do some of their own work to the engine to get a bit more power out of it, and I'm not sure where the tranny comes from. Might be the 6 speed found in the Celica, but I really doubt that considering its suppose to be short ratios...

thats strange to make an entirely different driveline for one single model... or does it share with the like of the s2000 or something.. because Australias legend will soon be ( has not quite been replace yet) is AWD... Unless it comes in two varients...

Its a hand-build, non-mass produced model. What the heck are you talking about?

Doesn't really matter now, its just a CONCEPT model.

haha very indeed. there are no certain facts about the car thats replacing the NSX. a V10 is just one of many possibilities.

nice, but ive also seen many others saying they have either no specs or different engine specs.. Its all very controvertial atm, i think theyre testing ideas to see which gets the most media attention possibly...a v10 would be nice though

I feel sorry for the NSX sequal's design department. The standards that they have to live up to are phenominal
Honda engineers are really good at what they do. I'm sure they are excited about the challenge. 👍

true, the accord euro was rather groundbreaking, flogging every other fwd sedan around of any price range. Lets hope some of this renowned talent filters into the next gen NSX.. which i dare say it will.

Acura sold about six times that in 1996. Acura has dried up sales on one of the most effective designs ever due to their own poor marketing. The thing deserves to die - Acura couldn't have played it any worse.
