Now that Series 1 has drawn to an end, I would like to thank everyone who participated, and most importantly Conza, for putting so much time and effort into The Hot Hatch League.

Also, very well done to Quade420/GOINDYCOLTS for his spectacular championship victory, showing what he and his Ford Focus St170 were made of.

It would be great to see everyone back for Series 2, and a few more new faces, for some more wheel tom wheel action.
HHL Series 2

The Hot Hatch League (HHL) was established by Conza and cgg. It's a group dedicated to all hot hatch racing, FF, 4WDs, even MRs and FRs if they qualify for a particular series. Events will held in particular series, this is series 1 'Modern Hot Hatches'.

Series 1

  • Type of Car - FF Hatchback
  • PP limit - 450PP
  • Power limit - 235BHP
  • Weight limit - Minimum of 1100kg
  • Tyre limit - Sports Soft

To Enter

Post in this thread your interest, and please FR PSN Conza_No1, be sure to state you GTPlanet and PSN username if it isn't listed on your GTP account
Prepare a car that matches the series requirements, then join in the Practices and most importantly the Races at the scheduled dates and times.

How it runs

  • There are 5 rounds in Series 1, event times are currently scheduled over February and March.
  • 2000 UTC is when the Lounge opens for official practices and races, with a start time of 2030 UTC.
  • Each event consists of two races, Race A and Race B, each with a Qualifying event.
  • Qualifying A takes place first, this forms the grid, set fastest first for Race A.
  • Race A occurs, the results from Race A double as Qualifying B.
  • There is a short recess, followed shortly by Race B, which concludes the event
  • Races laps will vary from event to event, in order to achieve a roughly equal 'combined race distance' and total event time.

Scoring System

Points are allocated each race based upon the following finishing positions
1st 25 points
2nd 20 points
3rd 16 points
4th 14 points
5th 12 points
6th 10 points
7th 09 points
8th 08 points
9th 07 points
10th 06 points
11th 05 points
12th 04 points
13th 03 points
14th 02 points
15th 01 points

In the event of a failed connection, when less than 40% of the racers are disconnected, all those who aren’t in the race will receive equal points at the equivalent to last place on that grid (8 drivers, 2 drop out, those two are both allocated points for 7th place).

Sounds ineresting. The only downside is you are in europe and i'm in the states so correct me if i'm wrong but you are 3 hours ahead of est time?

I'm 4 hours in front I thought. I'll try and get the races hosted on weekends in the evening GMT so in the day for you.

I may be interested, but not certain yet.replying to subscribe to the thread so I can see some updates...

I might me interested but I will need the times and dates as I'm a bit busy some days

Thanks guys! Things are looking up for HHL. I'll update the OP tomorrow.

I would love to do this. PSN-GOINDYCOLTS GTP- quade420. For my car I'll go with the '03 Ford Focus ST170 blue with aluminum wheels

Thanks. I'll add you to the list, and get you invited to the group.

Hi. I would be interested hopping for a sat. race. Ill keep an eye on the post for further details. Car and colors tbd.

Also CGG hard part is not getting 16 drivers but getting 16 people to show up. So make sure you get enough and don't limit it. Can a track suggestion be tskuba circuit? And high speed ring? As of right now I'm maybe. I am still testing cars.

Hello All, I'm Conza, the founder of the HHL. I started this last year, but it didn't take off, so am glad now that I have some more free time to give it another go.

Three cheers for Cgg, really appreciate your help, he's done 99% of the work so far and is due the credit, well done and thank you.

I created this group, in the hopes that we could have a no non-sense, basic race series in Hot Hatches, not too many rules, if you nudge someone a little bit that's ok, if you ram them at double speed and send them off the track, you're disqualified immediately, ect, just your basic common sense stuff.

Hopefully it'll be nice cruzy racing, once or twice a month, and being an Australian I'll have to make the times less desirable for me to suit our UK/European and US racers, speaking of which.

Timezones from west to east relative to GMT/UCT (+0)...

[-8/-7/-6/-5] These are Pacific, Mountain, Central and Eastern time zones in the US
[0/+1] These are UK and Euro time zones
[+10/+11] This is my time zone, AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time)
so I'm +11 right now, potentially racing someone in California, we're 19 hours apart, or he's 5 hours ahead, yesterday (if that isn't too confusing).

hi. I would be interested hopping for a sat. Race.

Since it's the only request for a specific day so far, let's do it on an American Saturday afternoon :)

This will also be a UK/European Saturday night and an Australian Sunday morning, let's hope the maths works.

Please post if this time 'in theory' works for you, I think we can shift it a bit later, we just need to make sure it doesn't become too late (or early) UK time, personally the later I can wake up the better :)

1400hrs/2pm US EST (+ 5 =)

2000hrs/8pm UK summer/Euro (+ 11 =)

0700hrs/7am AEST Sunday morning

EDIT: 1900hrs UTC

I'm still testing some cars. Anyone else been testing or anything?

Yes, and I'm starting to think 440PP is a little bit low for 235BHP, unless there's any objection, I'm going to raise the PP to 450.

EDIT: Yes after 5 cars now, it always seems to be a problem, 450PP is the new limit, still 235BHP and minimum 1100kgs

EDIT 2: "Trial Mountain Circuit", "Eiger Nordwand Short Track", "Cape Ring Periphery", "Laguna Seca Raceway" and "Circuit de la Sarthe 2009" will be the list of tracks.

EDIT 3: Compatible Cars (WIP)

Premium:
Golf V GTI (1112 kgs)
KUSABI Concept (231 BHP)
Civic Type R (EK) '97
Cooper S '07
207 GTI
500 1.2

Standard:
Lupo GTI
106 S16

Cgg if you could be so kind as to update the OP Please :)

Sure, at your discretion :).

I can't edit your post, so any updates we'll have to wait til you can do them (registrations, car list ect).

No, you don't have to use cars listed, they are just recommended.

To determine the grid for the races when everyone is in the lobby i will right down the names of the people who are in the lobby then pull them out of the hat.this is a fair way of doing it.
Sorry wrong thread this was supposed to be in the isa thread

We are still waiting to get a few more (2-3 ) members, to make it really fun! It shouldn't be too long though.

If all six are committed, then it should make for some excellent racing

Wow both days? Every Saturday and Sunday? Or just the next one?

If we moved it to 9:30pm UTC (3:30pm US EST & 8:30am AEST) does that impact on anyone's preference to join (postively or negatively)?

I don't see why we can't start on the 9th (10th for AEST)? Otherwise I think we should have series 1 the following week, depends if we get enough yes's

Tentatively, Saturday 9th of February 3:30pm US EST / 9:30pm UK/UTC / 8:30am AEST. Alternatively the 16th (one week later).

Yep both days, TOCA sat and WSC on sun

9:30pm on sat, sounds ok but might be a bit late joining the room, if that's ok?

I'd prefer earlier races than that on a saturday. They fit better for me. My preference would be Friday 7-10pm (GMT) (anywhere between these two)
