Love this side profile pic, along with the custom work done, wheels, drop, side intake and colour, just works amazingly well.

That Nissan looks great! Definitely think a few decals would finish it off

Just not their ever prominent hash tag though...

The basis of the all-black was meant to be a replica of GT4's stealth livery. Y'know? ;)

Mmm-hmm. (nods head)

Uh-huh. (makes goofy expression while nodding head)

Dang I love that Nissan AOS-! Can't wait to see it finished! :)

As for the Nissan decal, I will be more than happy to do a texture rip of that decal straight from the game itself if you want. :)

No need. All I need is an image of Nissan Logo and I just trace over it in Illustrator.

Now that I have this, the question remains....

....what to do with it?

So far what I have in mind is finding the original tampos for it on the internet and printing them out on decal paper. I know my dad found a site once that had Hot Wheels tampos for various Redlines and some other castings, I need to try to find it again or at least some site that has them.

As for the color, I am wanting to do a color they never did before for this particular Twin Mill that will still give a rather classic appearance, something like what Hot Wheels would do. Yellow is what I have in mind so far for this one. :)

The engines will be easy since they recently released a new Twin Mill with chrome engines that will work just perfectly. Now I am just hoping my Wal Mart will still have them.

Debating wether I should keep the wheels or get a new set. There aren't any vehicles around right now with the exact same wheels, other wise I would have already done it.

I need everybody's opinion on the wheels, should I keep them or get a new set?

Take em out, but don't throw it out. Materialistic AOS has a tendency to cling onto old historical symbolic icons.

But what I'd really do instead is not touch that and just mod a modern Twin Mill.

Incomplete. Waiting a week for the paint to cure some more before further handling. If there's one thing I always screw up with the IS cars, it's finishing it up when the paint hasn't hardened. But other than that, I put together another Illustrious car. I may have to start using a pearlescent paint rather than flat white.

These two are almost done. Just waiting for the superglue to dry.

Yea I think I can agree on that. I would love to find another set exactly like them but I doubt I will. So I think I may use torq thrusts for this one.

Nah I bought this thing specifically because I just couldn't let it stay the way it was and so I can breath some life back into it. ;) :) I will need a modern Twin Mill to replace the engines though.

Are you serious? They're trash now. Get new ones.
Yea what the heck was I thinking anyway?:banghead: Must have been too attached to the redline tires.

Oh well, my Wal Mart has some vehicle on the pegs with torq thrusts that will suit my purposes well, unless I find a vehicle with the same wheels it has in better condition. Now I just hope they won't disappear along with that new Twin Mill like that blasted Rigor Motor.

I'm not sure why this thread hasn't showed up in my alerts, but I absolutely love what I see. Awesome jobs. :)

I found a pickup at Kmart but left it behind because I couldn't find another car with the wheels I was looking for. :indiff:

You'll have to build a system out of wire or something, just be sure it's strong enough to hold the entire body. You'll also have to fabricate some keep-up tabs for the body, just like several of the Hot Wheels funny cars.

Hey guys. I stumbled upon this thread as i was starting my first custom, a Datsun 510. So far I've swapped the wheels, stripped and primed for paint, and fitted a custom window net and crossbar for that race car style.

Welcome, mate. That car looks cool now, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

While I fully approve, your changes to the rollcage won't let you install the glass piece back on... or will they? In the picture it looks like the crossbar will interfer. Did you measure twice, cut once? Been there done that

I'm still kind of toying around with it, but yeah it does block the glass.
